We were a small (12) tour group coming down from Phoenix, having spent the day at San Xavier del Bac and the Bisbee Copper Queen Mine tour. That being said, the Gadsden was the highlight of our day! Obviously, the lobby is breathtaking and a hidden gem in this part of Arizona. An additional bonus was the excellent service we received from the desk clerk - Alexis (sp?). He was there when we checked in and wasn't fazed by the numerous questions, handling us with professionalism and kindness. When we went to leave the next morning, he was back behind the desk, as he was filling in for someone else. Our stay was great; this hotel is definitely a destination in itself.

Historic and Beautiful!

Just went to the soda fountain. One thing I hate about 'grand' hotels is when the staff have an air of 'better than'. These guys could learn ALOT from friendly, smiley, staff that work in diners, walmart etc. Instead they serve with ice cold speed barely hearing your order right so they can gossip to each other.
Disappointing. The cleaner in the foyer was plain lovely!

Snippy staff

My husband and I visited this hotel during a road trip. This was a perfect place to stop and rest before an early morning treck up to portal for a weekend of birdwatching. There is lots of history in this town. A great place for historians and history buffs to explore from ghosts  to cowboys. There is a lot of energy here.  We were so fortunate to meet the amiable Korri, who was working at the front desk, she provided us a really fun informative tour of the lower level complete with a speakeasy. We look forward to our return when refurbishment and construction is complete, and hope again to receive the excellent customer service that we received from Corey she is a true customer, service, professional!

We held my daughters wedding at this beautiful and historic hotel! The food served and bar service was exceptional! Thank you to management and Gadsden hotel employees for making this wedding amazing!

We also had many guests who booked a room at this hotel and they were all very satisfied with clean and comfortable room

There is so much history associated with the Gadsten Hotel and it’s ongoing restoration. We were lucky to stay here when we were on a bicycle tour in southern Arizona (Bubba‘S Pampered Peddlers). From the moment we arrived we felt like we were special guests. We were greeted by the staff and owner Anel Lopez just like we were family. The grand staircase and the Stainglass windows are some of the architectural highlights. The room that we stayed in (Room 107) had been converted from two previous rooms able to accommodate A king size bed, a large jet tub and the living room space. 
The food service was absolutely wonderful providing several dinner choices to our large group. The outdoor terrace patio was a perfect place for my wife and I to eat dinner and enjoy a glass of beer or wine with friends in these times of Covid. The Gadsten hotel is a destination in and of itself but there is also a great bike riding in the surrounding area.

Beautiful restoration in progress

Was happily surprised!!!!  A quaint old Hotel, opened in 1903, that was full of charm and history.  The rooms were quiet comfortable, clean and had the charm of days gone by with a very comfortable King size bed.  The staff was very courteous and efficient and the food was excellent.

Would return in a heartbeat!!!  Be sure and ask for a tour, there is a ton of History and maybe even a ghost or two!!!

Birthday Party

The Gadsden has long been a landmark in the Douglas area. This is the first time I've stayed. The room was clean and comfortable. As always the lobby is simply stunning. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Be sure to visit the Saddle and Spur tavern for a taste of history with historic brands on the walls. The menu is somewhat limited but tasty.

Grand Old Lady

As longtime Douglas residents, we had not eaten at the Gadsden in several years- basically due to the restricted menu and several disappointing visits.  We understand they have a new cook so we decided to try it again and were pleasantly surprised.  The fajitas and grilled chicken breast were very good and the prices were reasonable.  The server was pleasant and accommodating and the atmosphere was excellent.  We certainly will be back.

Pleasant Surprise

We did a day trip around the town of Douglas, and saw this beautiful building. We decided to check out the lobby area and were amazed at the grandure. As we were checking out the items from years past, we met Cheryl, who gave us a personal tour of the hotel.  I am sure we will be back for another visit!

Historic site visit

We only had lunch (fajita and salmon salad) here and it was very good.  service was excellent!!!  we also had tour and it was very interesting. we want to go back and stay there soon. very beautiful hotel.
