Not clean, worn and stained linens, worn and stained towels. I had difficulty getting the shower to work. No restaurants close by. The closest convenient type store was nearly half mile away. How this place ever recieved a 3.5 rating is beyond me. The staff were all really nice and pleasant to deal with. Tazwell has limited accommodations available as the only other hotel in town didn't appear any better.

Dated

I had no problems with my online reservation. I see many negative reviews here, but for me the Lodging was functional - the bed was comfortable enough for me to sleep well, the AC and TV worked fine, and the cleanliness was okay. There were no burns or smells in my room. 

I realized after checking out that I had left something in the room, and when I called, they had it waiting for me at the front desk.

If I have a complaint, it's that the toilet is so close to the wall that it was awkward to use.

Needed a reasonable place to stay for a Back of the Dragon driving weekend

Nasty, smelled like an ash tray,  the smell even got into my clothes. So nasty the bed covering had cigarette bruns. It is an old place that should be' torna down, no hope to rehab it unless tutte. They couldn't find my reservation, which I made a month in advance

Stayed in room 102. Could see dust on carpet  where furniture had not been moved for vacuuming.
An independent owned motel.  dated furniture, dirty windows, dim lighting.  Phony ratings on booking.com
of 7+.  
Below basic chain motel standards. 
Over priced paid $63 for 1 night. There are few lodging choices in Tazewell.  Night time temp was in 20s so
better than sleeping in car.

Dated Dumpy Dirty Avoid

Very unhappy with this stay . We stayed there for 6 weeks over the summer and everything was ok. We have referred several workers to stay there even though the jobs they are doing are in blue field. Had other people with us and occupied 5 of their rooms. Went back for my husbands job again in November and this time we only stayed one night, would’ve stayed longer but We Were charged 90 dollars! If we weren’t exhausted we would’ve left. Her Husband told me on the phone 70 dollars and it changed when we got there, she claimed taxes went up, but I couldn’t find anything on internet about the taxes going up to 13 percent as we were told.We try to give business to some of the smaller honest business’s when we are traveling but we will definitely stay somewhere in Bluefield next time. Not to mention we got in the room and 1 bed had candy stuck in sheets, I told my husband it’s ok we will sleep in other bed but when I pulled covers back , someone had saturated the sheets with urine and house keeper hadn’t changed beds 😠, so we had to get clean sheets and change them before we could even go to sleep. Left the bed with the urine like it was!! They lost good customers by trying to make a few extra dollars and not checking behind housekeepers. The car air freshener we hung in bathroom on TP roll was still there in November! Stayed in same room..

Not Happy!

I rented two rooms for myself and crew. Mine was king bed nonsmoking and a two queen bed smoking room. Staff went out of way to accommodate us. We had adjoining rooms which was great. Plenty parking and cameras everywhere. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Seems to be recently updated. Fridge and microwave in both rooms. Mattresses were wrapped in plastic and very comfortable. If we don’t finish job today we will return here tonight. Prices are very reasonable. Very happy. Would bring family here to stay if need arises. Thanks

Business travelers

Stayed for a night on way to " Back of the Dragon" Route 16. Rooms were clean and shower had great pressure. Staff were helpful. Price was great. Location is perfect for those on motorcycle trips.Would definitely stay there again.

Motorcycle trip

Older motel. Memories of the 50's and 60's  traveling accross the USA. A no frills. clean, plenty of parking. Good people. Price seemed high compared to value. Remember sleeping well, but again not very many choices in that area of the country. 

Older motel. Got a good nights sleep, in a clean if not dated place.

We were caught in the crazy rush out of NC and as night neared, we were headed off I-77 and west into the mountains.  We were unable to get rooms just off I-77 and were really getting worried.  I was apprehensive about this out-of-the-way place, but then pleasantly surprised to get a reasonably-priced room that was quiet, clean, and comfortable.  We spent a restful night and then continued our westward journey before heading north.  I had been dreading what we might find, but it was a very nice place to stay and I would do it again passing through.

Saved the day for us

I found my rooms to be clean. The front desk was friendly. It is an older Motel but it is very nice and I'll stay here again. This is the only hotel that is here in Tazewell. The next nearest one is Claypool Hill and it's quite a distance away. Stayed here lock for my business and I'll be coming back
