A nice experience overall.   Seems like they have been scrubbing a lot as the place was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice and big.  For the price, I think it is a good value and I would stay here again.

Comfortable and affordable

This hotel is trying. I appreciate that. If you’re looking for perfection- this is not your hotel. If you’re looking for helpful staff (that actually seem to care you’re a human being with a soul and not just a bank account) then this may be your next hotel. 

The lobby is adorable. The room could use some TLC. There are cracks in the wall and on the ceiling. I was in town for work, so wasn’t there much. But I did practice my pitch at 1:30AM to Steve at the front desk. He listened over and over again and gave helpful feedback. Whenever I needed something, they were quick to get it to me. I couldn’t hear the highway, or the elevator (which I was right next to) so that was nice. The bed was comfortable. 

If you go in knowing they’re trying, I think you’ll be fine. They obviously don’t have corporate money. Which means they’re also not corporate robots:) I know this may sound like I have a huge chip on my shoulder - I don’t. Chip free, I promise:) I was just surprised by how human they seemed. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where I thought the front desk staff would remember me - until the Peers. I wouldn’t even have guessed I cared, but clearly it left an impression. So, if you’re looking for a cheap place with a grand attitude, stay here.

Stay here to stick up for the little guy

I shared a room with 3 other women attending a conference I was at. The room was enormous. Bigger than my NYC apartment. The breakfast however really sucked. The lobby was a bit strange because of the ancient Roman nude statue on the left, and a Marylin Monroe statue on the right, and I think an insurance company office in the lobby which was really weird. Oh, and a very Republican Trump supporter hotel manager or employee discussing his political views. However, the room was quite a good value so I would probably consider it again.

Strange statues and big rooms.

Don’t bother booking this hotel! The pictures are extremely deceiving. The hotel lobby smells and no air conditioning in lobby or hallways. Decor is from the 80’s and smells. I would not sit on the lobby furniture at all.
The hotel employees are extremely rude and condescending.
The king suite I booked wasn’t as bad as I expected considering the lobby was awful but the bed was very uncomfortable and the coffee maker didn’t work. Carpet needed cleaning, smelled like mildew.
The free breakfast was a joke! An old dirty coffee maker was bubbling over with coffee grounds and tasted terrible. No creamer or sugar.
A few packages of cereal, warm milk in a pitcher and a very dirty area set up for the waffle machine. The waffle machine had built up grease and syrup.
The employee bangs on your door at exactly 11:00 to tell you it’s “ time to go”. 
I was packed and about to leave when he was coming down the hall banging on everybody’s doors.
Rude people, dirty place, save your money and aggravation! 

Rude employees, dirty and smells, low quality hotel!

Staying at this hotel was the absolute worst experience I’ve had in Austin. The employees are incredibly rude and inconsiderate. I came down for coffee in the morning and didn’t see any creamer or sugar. I asked the front desk guy if they had anything and he just snapped back at me “no, do you see it over there?” Check out is at 11am and by 11:02, they were banging on my door and just yelled “time to go!” I was completely ready to leave, just waiting on my ride to get there. I would’ve been out within 5 minutes anyways. The same front desk guy was extremely rude through check out and when I told him he didn’t have to bang on my door, he said it was his right and he could’ve done it at 10:30 if he wanted. They have no concept of customer service and I will never stay here again, no matter how cheap it is. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Worst customer service I’ve ever had in Austin.

My first impression of the hotel was that it was a lot more rundown than I thought. When I got to my room, I was happy to see it all looked pretty clean. However, that night and all of the nights after, my neighbours kept me up all night. There was domestic fighting, crying, yelling, pounding on my walls all night, loud "intimate" sounds with multiple people involved. I later found similar reviews about this on Expedia and think the hotel might be used for human trafficking? I let the manager know after the 2nd night of the noise (I didn't want to say anything because I was alone and the people beside me were truly scary), and he moved my neighbors to a different room. The new neighbors were just as bad. They were fighting loudly and I could hear every word they said. I complained to the front desk again as I had not slept in three nights. (While I was there, I saw someone pay for a room in cash... it's one of those kinds of hotels). The front desk told me to call Expedia and ask for a refund. Expedia did not help in any way, I explained to them I hadn't slept at all for 3 nights and felt unsafe and I wanted a refund of at least 1 night, and they told me they'd ask the manager if they could refund me, and obviously the manager said no. The manager then said that he has never once issued a refund in his entire life at this hotel!! Just a truly horrible experience, because this hotel is cheap and on the highway it attracts a certain kind of sketchy clientele. I wouldn't be surprised if this hotel offered hourly rates, if you know what I mean. It seems like a lot of illegal activity happens here.
