Enjoyed our stay! Bryan & Sherry were kind, helpful & generous hosts. Brava House rooms were comfortable, cozy & light filled.  WIFI worked great. The location is very convenient to Austin museums, downtown, capitol area & UT campus.  Great restaurants nearby. Breakfasts were tasty & healthy.

Great place to stay in Austin

The Brava House has new owners!!  A wonderful Husband and Wife team with fantastic plans to keep the old-world charm while incorporating exciting upgrades. 

My wife & I and one of our adult children stayed through New Years this year.   We visited restaurants and shopping within 10 minutes of walking from this historical site. 

We sat on the front porch for reading, and met in the living room of our suite for gathering.

We have stayed at the Brava House many times over the last 7 years and the new owners have sold us on continuing our plans to return. 

If you like a home-away-from-home in old world style with comfy beds and a wonderful breakfast house;  with multiple gathering areas for family and friends..  then plan on the Brava House!!

Bryan and Sheri were awesome host! By the time we left Sheri felt like family. We stayed in the Garbo room and it was perfect. The house is in close proximity to all Austin has to offer. On our next trip trip to Austin, this is where we’ll stay. Can’t wait to go back!

Great location in beautiful neighborhood!

My wife and I have been staying at Brava House for more than 15 years of ACL festivals. It's not only a great location for the festival it's also a great location for accessing all that Austin has to offer.  It is located in a neat little neighborhood (Clarksville) within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

The rooms are all unique and are nicely furnished and very comfortable.  New owners Bryan and Sherry are very accomodating and are in the process of making the rooms and grounds even more amazing.  Even though it was our first year with them as our hosts we already felt like part of the family.

I would recommend staying at Brava House for any trip to Austin, not just for ACL festival.

ACL Festival stay at Brava House

The new owners, the Rymers, were still moving in and yet accomodated us wonderfully. We not only stayed with them, but we conducted consults for our Vocaré clients in the Monroe Suite. The kitchen wasn't yet up and operational for breakfast, so they provided us with generous vouchers for a great breakfast place down the street. All in all, highly recommended. We'll be regulars whenever business takes us to Austin!

Excellent Business Stay!

We enjoyed our three-night stay at this comfortable bed and breakfast near downtown Austin. The location is in a nice neighborhood that is conveniently located near downtown, the State Capitol, the University of Texas, the LBJ Library and museums. We stayed in the Garbo suite, which is large and well-appointed with a comfortable queen bed and a library sitting room. The bathroom is also very nice, but the tub shower does not have grab bars and may be challenging for older or disabled visitors. The owners are welcoming and responsive and offered good suggestions for first time Austin visitors like us. The breakfast served was delicious and freshly made with a Texas flair.

Cozy B&B near Downtown Austin

In 1973, I moved into this old house with another student. We had the "Garbo" suite, which was our apartment then. We had fun parties, and this was the time when Willie Nelson was just gaining traction in Austin. Another musician, Willis Alan Ramsey, lived there when we moved out. It was such a treat to be able to stay in our old apartment, though of course, it's completely different. The shag carpet from our college days is gone, replaced by the beautiful hardwood floors, and the two twin beds from 1973 are also gone, replaced by a beautiful carved wood bed that is so comfy. Everything was wonderful for this visit, and I really enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. I hope to stay here again. It's the perfect place for a quiet stay in Austin.

From 1973 to Present: From a college apartment to a vist in 2022

The brava house is a hidden gem! My husband and I came to Austin for our honeymoon and added an extra day/night last minute. We booked the Garbo Suite and we wished we had stayed for our entire honeymoon! The house is gorgeous and charming with plenty of dining options nearby. Nick was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast tostadas he made were delicious. If you are looking for a comfortable unique stay this is the place to be.

Hidden Gem

We had the best stay at the Brava House.  Nick was welcoming and great to be around. He was always helpful, friendly, and with a smile.  His breakfasts were fresh and delicious every time.  What a great way to start the day! We enjoyed our morning walks around the neighborhood to view all the Victorian homes.  We also enjoyed coffee on the front porch to plan the day. It's a great location close to all that Austin has to offer and with off street parking. The Brava decor was inviting and relaxing. Our room was very clean, had natural sunlight, and a very comfortable bed. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay.  Highly recommend.

Wonderful and Relaxing

We lived in Austin for 25 years and have stayed at Brava House two times--once when we were selling our home and once after we moved to Idaho.  What a beautiful, unique place!  Clean, gorgeous historic home in Old West Austin....serene, beautiful grounds filled with lush greenery.  Nick, owner and host, is awesome--kind and talented--he's kind of a renaissance man, whipping up avocado toast with pickled cucumbers, coaxing his plants into a lush backdrop, keeping a spotless abode, and welcoming guests with conversation and a huge smile.  This will be our home whenever we visit Austin, Texas!
