This place is a little Airbnb, a little hotel, and a little bit of home.  Just a really comfortable setting in walking distance to shops, dining and bars on Congress.  Very clean, with most every amenity you could need.  Pack light and shop for something new to wear!!  When you are tired of the crowds, you can relax on the private patio with a glass of wine, or sweet tea.

Very Nice

Having resided in Austin for numerous years before relocating a decade ago, we still maintain ties with family there. This recent visit was prompted by a wedding just before Christmas, a time usually daunting for travel and accommodation arrangements in Austin, given the holiday exodus that thins out the city and often leads to understaffing at even the finest hotels.  For years, we've favored intimate boutique hotels over standard ones, drawn by the unique experiences they offer. The recommendation for this hotel came from friends who raved about their recent stay, setting our expectations high, as they usually are for any property we've frequented (as reflected in my past reviews).

Nestled almost at the heart of Austin, this small-scale establishment lived up to its reputation. It's a stunning amalgamation of aesthetics, functionality, sophistication, and comfort. The limited number of rooms encircle a beautiful and practical wooded atrium, with a common room that surpasses any description. The establishment maintains an age limit, ensuring a serene and peaceful environment absent of bustling children—a personification of tranquility. Although the entire experience is digitized, a feature that might initially raise concerns for some, the property manager, the wonderfully attentive Mike, personally reached out to us anytime he saw us during our short stay—a level of care that's increasingly rare.

Finding any flaws during our stay would require an exhaustive search. This hotel represents the direction of the future—a seamless blend of modernity and hospitality.

An amalgamation of aesthetics, functionality, sophistication, and comfort. 

My husband and I stayed at the Kimber last weekend and really enjoyed it! The property is beautiful, we especially loved the gorgeous courtyard. The room was very clean and had one of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on! One of the absolute best things is the location. We parked at the hotel, and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. There are tons of great restaurants, bars, places to see live music, shops, etc. within a short walk of the hotel. I highly recommend staying here, it gives you a great taste of Austin, and makes it so easy to enjoy the food, music and shopping!

Beautiful Hotel and Great Location!

The place is amazing! From the clean, quiet, spacious rooms to the 24/7 beverage bar. I really can't think of a single thing to complain about. The staff was so friendly && helpful, just send them a text && they are there to help in the matter of minutes. I didn't want to leave && I'm more than excited to come back! I HIGHLY recommend  this hotel for either business or a personal experience. 

Best couples hotel in Austin

The self check-in style was awesome! It felt like an Airbnb without the extra charges and annoying cleaning duties. My favorite part was the complementary beer and wine in the community living room. It felt like home. The herbal teas were always refilled and honey ready to pour. The proximity to bars, shops, restaurants, and the popular ATX attractions is a plus. Definitely cant wait to go back! Oh and my Tesla was happy with the charging station!

Vacation

Kimber Modern is a great base camp from which to explore the SoCo region of Austin. The perfect location and a quiet and inviting environment. The beds are tremendously comfortable and the common areas are absolutely gorgeous. Kimber Modern would be a great place for a reunion or any group gathering. Highly recommend!

Quiet comfort, great location

We travel a lot and what a pleasant surprise.  Great concept with suites that felt very quiet, private with beautiful common spaces and hardly saw anyone during the stay. Great location and we walked to everything or 5-10 minute Uber to everything else 

Modern Discovery

Man, just trust me. Stay here!! Innovators in the hospitality game, felt truly at home during my stay. In such a great part of town, yet still so quiet and relaxed. The courtyard area and common area are awesome, all the free amenities in there make it worth the price of admission!

Great spot!!

We opted to stay at Kimber Modern while attending a wedding nearby. The hotel was perfect for our needs and I would definitely stay here again!

First the location was ideal, right on South Congress and the best part is that the parking is free! I was a little concerned about noise coming from the clubs that are literally steps away, but it was not an issue the weekend I was there.

Second, the property is more like an Airbnb in that there's no front desk. You get the access code via email prior to your arrival. However, that is not to say that there's no staff. I had some questions and was easily able to talk/text to someone immediately. 

We were in the Orange room which was comfortable and well-designed for two people. Plenty of storage space in the main room and in the bathroom.  I always get nervous when I see the wall mounted AC unit, but this one worked great! Our room was nice and cold and the unit was very quiet. My only negative point of our entire stay is that the water pressure in the bathroom is a bit weak and the hot water from the sink tap takes a very long time to warm up.

We enjoyed the common room with the Jura coffee maker. There is also filtered water and other beverages available at no charge. 

I'd like to add that the staff is incredibly friendly and kind. I look forward to staying here again soon!

Great stay right off South Congress!

Perfection.  This is a simple and beautifully designed boutique hotel.  Room, bed and common area are super comfortable. The no front desk, easy check in make it a breeze. Kimber has really nailed this concept.
