They put us in a room that had animal poop stains on carpet and blood stain on bedspread. Don't go barefoot or your feet will stick to carpet. It was just the stinky place to try and sleep. They should have given us half of our money back. $155.00 it cost us!!!.

Bad place to stay

Extremely dated, super kooky, and totally awesome! If you are a whiny little you know what, then this place is probably not for you. But if you are down for a little adventure and want to save a few bucks, then this place is well worth it. The owner is nice and helpful, though a little quirky. He feeds the local wildlife in the adjacent yard, resulting in the nighttime arrival of deer, skunks, racoons, and god knows what else. We loved it! The room we stayed in looks like something from the Brady Bunch, but is huge, comfortable, and clean. Great place and would stay here again!

Kooky, but awesome!

This is a wonderful, inexpensive Motel in Bandon,and a great discovery. Super comfortable with all amenities we could want, good Host. we visited the nearby beaches, took hot showers, ate at the Wharf(yummy Clam Chowder). This was all at a better price than at the fancier Hotels in the area. Definitely will stop there again.

Great/Budget Friendly Hotel in Bandon

Called to confirm check in hours, the night before our stay, only to be told that they were closed and all staff had been laid off! We received NO NOTIFICATION!!! Completely unprofessional and disrespectful!

Lack of communication!!!!!

Seriously. Even if you think you need to stop for the night, stay in your car. Cat hair in every crevice, plates of food shoved under the dresser, BUGS, what looked like blood stains in the cracked bathtub, burn marks on the mattress, crumbs in the bed. Absolutely disgusting. Literally stay anywhere else.

Just reading all the reviews for Shahab's motel, the Shooting Star, should make any adventerous traveler want to try it out. Retro: 100%. Funky everything: 100%. Small and a little cramped (room 12): T100%. Seagulls everywhere? Yep. Beware of droppings. Additionally:  Funny signs to warn you not to steal batteries and to be sure to use bath matts so you wont fall and then sue the motel. Also, so many lights and lamps in the place it is a hoot. Talking toilet seats sparkle ceilings!  If you are writer or need some fun stories to take home to your friends, come to the Shooting Star.

Entertaining, to say the least.

We were here for two nights with our two furballs just passing through, checking out the beach.
It was a lovely and comfortable stay:
Comfy beds, fluffy pillows, pretty bed spreads, pet friendly, nice size fridge(bigger than hang a mini).
Top, most important > very clean.
Now that's a spicy meatball 😃

The manager is a very thoughtful and wonderful person.
SHOOTING STAR MOTEL *IS* the place to stay in Bandon Oregon.

We stopped here on a road trip and were easily able to find accommodations. The owner was helpful, sweet, and dedicated to making the stay as comfortable for us as possible. The room itself was clean and well-kept, and it was close enough to the coast!

Welcoming, Great Service

Shooting Star Motel has had a lot of negative ratings.  I suppose I can see why since it is an older motel and the owner is a little crazy but we had fun.  Our room was spotlessly clean. The staff more than willing to help us in any way we needed.  The owner greeted us, took us to our room, closed the shades, showed us how to operate the remotes for the television and the fan and later brought some treats for our dogs.

One of the biggest complaints I see here is that the owner feeds the seagulls, other birds, and local wildlife.  WE had no problem with the gulls nor their droppings (which were everywhere). They were fun to watch as they fed and bathed in the available pools and running hose.  

Our room was small but plenty big enough for sleeping for not only my wife and I but our two dogs. Bathroom fixtures are old but worked fine. The coffee pot was virtually new and spotless. The television was at least a 32" flat screen, perhaps more with a plethora of channels to choose from..

We stayed for two nights and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Quirky but fun

We stop at this motel by exhaustion of driving all day..place is located by US 101,,,so that came handy...owner was there even to show how tv works.. living in his house beside motel...at first i noticed a funky smell asking myself why there was carpet over the carpet ..kinda strange if its not urine smell or similar...but after couple beers and joints i stopped noticing...fun times in oregon..left before sunset on a busy day...
