Acadia Pines was very clean and the room was in good repair.  For the price we paid, we did not expect extra amenities.  The room was very small (we stayed in the lowest priced room) but adequate.  It even had a refrigerator and microwave.  It was conveniently located close to Bar Harbor.

Excellent for the price paid

We recently stayed for a two-family trip of 8 people and reserved two rooms with kitchenettes. The accommodations were just right for us! It was clean, quiet, staff was friendly and helpful and they truly added to the experience! Each night we enjoyed the outside area together and other guests joined us too! We used the chiminea and had s’mores, used the tables to play card games under the stars, played frisbee and the kids had easy access to homemade ice cream next door and miniature golf across the street! The only thing we could suggest to improve would be to have access to a grill for cooking outside.  We had a great experience and will definitely stay again in the future!

Amazing family vacation location

We happened upon Acadia Pines by chance. We reserved a room online. When we got there it was cute and quaint. The decor is a little outdated BUT the room was super clean. The bed was comfy and the shower was great (water was hot and good pressure). The staff were welcoming and friendly. When we come back to Bar Harbor we will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Place to stay

Good - Location close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Found great price when I booked. Service personnel were very friendly and provided daily service despite Covid. Room clean and comfortable. Bathtub/shower with good hot water. Good heat/AC. Room was quiet. WiFi was fine even near the end of the motel. Coffee machine with coffee, fridge, and microwave.

Disliked · Just little annoyances. No sink stopper. A bit of peeling paint on sink top. Heat difficult to control with thermostat (but plentiful). Carpet was a bit old and worn.

Good value stay

Staff was friendly and helpful to our needs and requirements. The pool was not in working condition but it was to cold to swim anyhow. The place is old but maintained pretty good. We had  comfortable stay and would do it again. They even have a fire place where we brought our own firewood from next door and gathered with other travelers for a night of libations and music.

Nice stay!

One of the 'yesteryear' properties on old Route 3 into Bar Harbor. Distinct from the monstrous 'hotels' in town, Acadia Pines  is good for an overnight or short stay. My single queen room was clean, had a great bed and met my basic needs. The a/c, while original, worked just fine in the 90 degree heat. I had to plug in the tv, one lamp and the lightbulbs in the bathroom need a wet wipe on top.  New windows show that owners are invested in the property. Wireless signal, but no internet connectivity. (MDI is not the place to go if you want to work remotely...), Far enough from the road to be quiet, it is simply, a good value.

A Good Value

Have staid here for the past 2 yrs on our visit to Bar Harbor -  Although it could use a little updating - the rooms are large and clean - The staff makes sure you are well taken care of - There is inside and outside tables for dining - There is contactless service .

Good place for the price

From the road, it looks like a tired little roadside motel, but the rooms are large and clean and well-kept.  Stayed here two nights and had to good night's sleep both nights.  The bed was comfortable, and the towels were thick.  Free WiFi, as well as a large-screen TV, which I never used.  Conveniently located on the main road down to Bar Harbor and entrance to Acadia.  Plenty of parking as well, and set back off the road far enough that road noise wasn't an issue

Don't be fooled by the exterior

We recently stayed at Acadia Pines Motel.  This is a 1* hotel at best, with a 3* price.  The office staff were not present on arrival and an earlier phone call was not answered.  After pushing a white (dirty gray) button on a remote receiver the office staff arrived.  The woman was brusque and acted as though we interrupted her.  She gave us a key and told us the wireless password.  The room is old and dated from the carpet to the bathroom.  It took a while for the water to run hot.  The towels are thin and worn.  The beds are old, uncomfortable and squeaky. The towel rack fell off the wall in the bathroom.  The dead bolt is a thin bar that was hard to slide into the end.  It didn’t make us feel safe.  We stayed in a room with a kitchenette to prepare breakfast.  The microwave and refrigerator and toaster all worked, though there were only two receptacles.  We never used the TV or outdoor amenities.  The room was generally quiet.  You only heard a bit of street noise and the people next door when they left early one morning.  A redeeming factor is its close proximity (2 miles) from the Acadia National Park Hulls Cove entrance.  I was swayed by the positive reviews and wonder if those reviewers stayed at the same place.

Outrageous price for a old worn room

Once we got to our room it smelled musty, cobwebs on the lamps and the small refrigerator was very loud, had to unplug it to listen to the television and sleep.
Reported problems to the staff and was told that they could do nothing about it until tomorrow. That was unsatisfactory since we were only staying for one night.
