Thought it was deserted. No one there place was so aweful. There was a note on the door that said my name I went and got it it said we are out your key is in room 44 . We went it looked ok but was way down back and we felt unsafe . We had our 3 year old grandson with us. Shame on the lying pictures

Storybook shame on you

This is probably the worst place we have ever stayed! The pools and hot tubs were filthy. The smoke detector was not working properly and last updated in 2005. When I enquired about the photos on line I was told the hotel had no control over them. I asked about coffee for the room and we were directed to a grocery store across the street.

Storybook Inn in Glen-New Hampshire is a very serene and cool place. Property’s got many buildings that aren’t seen from the road. They have pretty cool trees that will give pretty lovely colors soon. It has stores and restaurants around. It is literally one minute from Story Land, and 20 minutes from Mt. Washington AutoRoad. We did not have to worry about traffic lines in nearby North Conway, cause we were out of it. Haha. We loved the restaurants around. It is one minute from two breakfast spots, the grill and chill Dairy Queen, and restaurants for lunch & dinner. We had a good night’s sleep, with comfortable beds yeah. We used the pool once, and it was nice!  
I’d definitely go back again! Anytime!

Storybook Is cool!!

Outdoor pool and spa not in operation, indoor spa not in operation, indoor pool covered but very cold... rug in the dirty room (old pieces of pepperoni on the floor) unstable toilet, electric fireplace not functioning in the room, smell of moisture and doubt that the sheets were washed... air conditioner and refrigerator functional but no coffee machine or phone in the room, committed to the lost reception and not very cooperative

The motel looks like it is located on the side of the road but our room was right back in the trees. From the room you can't hear any traffic noise, surrounded by lots of wildlife. The innkeeper was extremely helpful, she gave us so many wonderful recommendations and nothing was too much trouble. It was a great base to visit all of the attractions in the area.

Beautiful Setting

I had wanted to stay here forever because it’s near Storyland and it’s always caught my attention being on the corner of two major routes in Glen. Booked here for two nights with my wife and young son. We were put up in a room way beyond any of the “amenities” to the resort up on the hill. It was awkward. Pool heater for indoor pool was broken. Pool was freezing cold. Hottub was broken. Room was old and outdated. Wasn’t comfortable. Outdoor pool is never up and running. You really need to be up front with people when they book or at least at check-in. The whole experience....eh.

Letdown

We stayed at this place for one night during the Labor Day weekend. Everything was booked out in the neighborhood so after more that 1h of searching, we were finally not too picky in terms of our accommodation. The resort looks better from outside than inside - although there is no tragedy in our room comparing to some other reviews, however you can clearly see that this place hasn't been renovated for a while. Some things weren't working (including Wi-Fi), but in general we slept well and the place was clean. In general, for $130 you'd expect something better, however maybe not on a Labor Day weekend.

Not the greatest standard, but it was OK for one night

My husband and I just stayed here over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary.   When we arrived, it was dark, so we weren't able to see the grounds until the next morning.   Our room was in the Woodside area, set back off the main road.  The room was pretty and clean, but was dated to the 1980's, flowered wall paper and big box TV!  Bathroom was small, but clean, though the water pressure and God forbid, the temperature wasn't very good if another room was also using the water.  A couple of times I went from hot to cold in three seconds!  Free WiFi, but very spotty.   The room also consisted of a comfortable queen size bed, small table for two, one nightstand and bureau, dorm size fridge and equally small microwave.   In the morning, we checked out the little patio that was off our room by way of a sliding door.   A couple of iron tables with chairs that had a wonderful view of the woods, which I'm sure there has been many times a moose or other wildlife have been spotted.   It was cool and wet, but I'm sure sitting out there on a warm, summer night would be wonderful!  The rooms have very thin walls as we could hear kids and TV's in other rooms.   My husband tried to use the coke machine, but it wasn't working, to the shock of the check in lady when it was mentioned, but there is a little general store within walking distance, if you're brave enough to cross over Rte 302!  Overall, we had a nice stay there though I will admit it does need some updating in the near future.

Peaceful!

Wow...there's more to this place than meets the eye. From the road, Storybook Inn looks like a small place but when they told me my room was in the back, I didn't realize I was gonna be so far from the highway. It was a beautiful setting surrounded by trees and lots of beautiful flowers. Sitting at our patio, we saw an owl fly to the top of the tree so my kids really got a thrill from that. The rooms were clean & spacious and we had great reception for the wifi, which also made my kids happy. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the place and we all had a restful sleep. I was removed from the hustle and bustle of North Conway, altough I did enjoy just being 10 mins from town (and the shopping).
The staff was really helpful and friendly and the indoor pool was a perfect ending to a our day. I would definetly come back to Storybook Inn. We all had a blast!!

What an AWESOME place!

Located right on the corner of two main streets, however, the rooms in the back area were very quiet and idyllic. The hotel has an indoor pool. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff was very pleasant.
