I can't believe this is my 12th year visiting here!  Always quiet and pleasant and very clean - in fact, heading up again for a 10-day stay at the end of the month.

I do feel the need to comment on another review I just viewed.  Yes, that particular guest was asked about how many guests were in that room.  Both insurance and fire code regulations allow a max # of people in a room; if that max is exceeded and something happens....  just imagine.  Secondly, I was with the owner when she went to make sure the rockets were not fireworks, and she was most assuredly not drunk.  She may have "stumbled" when she got out of the truck, but that truck is much higher than her own.  In fact, another time when I was with her, I nearly landed on my face getting out because it IS so high off the ground and I forgot.

I hope people take the good reviews into consideration, as those portray Sky Valley as it really is.

Sky Valley - Year 12

When we checked into Sky Valley, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the gentleman in the office that day. He was so accommodating and pleasant and nice to our grandchildren. We were enjoying our time there with my sister and niece's family until the owner came by questioning us about how many kids we had staying in our motel room. Not only was she drunk, but she didn't even introduce herself when she came stumbling over to us sitting outside. We had 1 child with us,who we paid extra for,and the other 2 were staying in a cottage with their parents. Up until then, we were able to let the kids ride bikes and scooters from cabin to cabin and our motel room and not have to worry about traffic. But after that incident, we were afraid of the owner driving drunk on the property, because she could've very easily run someone over with her big pickup truck! Then another night we were playing in the field with kiddy copters that light up, when she drove up to make sure we weren't doing any fireworks. I can understand that she doesn't want them on the property, but we also know how to read all their signs and wouldn't be stupid enough to do it right behind the office! Seriously! The place is up for sale, so I hope someone buys it or I won't return there next year. My sister's family had been going there for about 5 years, but I don't know if they'll go again after this year.

Family trip

We stayed in the "SACO SUITE" in early June for a long weekend with our 2 kids, both under 5. The unit was very cozy and clean, and the grounds were very well cared for. It was still a bit chilly for the pool, but I will say it was extremely clean and looked very inviting. The kids enjoyed the HUGE play area and we loved that we could see them at all times right from the front porch. Perfect location for local attractions and of course Story Land, we will be back!

Perfectly peaceful

We stayed in Cottage #6, and had a great time. We really enjoyed how quiet it was. Dave and Maureen are extremely nice and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place for a family who wants to escape the craziness of daily life and be able to unwind and enjoy nature and relax. Really close to stores as well as scenic views and attractions. I'm glad we were able to find this place!

Quiet and Peaceful

We stayed in one of the motel rooms . My room was a bit dated and had a downward slope in the shower but I chalk that up to NH charm. You are close to all the area attractions and restaurants are all within a short drive. The pool looked very inviting but it was chilly during our stay and the pool isn’t heated. The one thing I found disturbing is the use of noted pasted thoughout the room telling what not to do or touch. I counted 10 of them !

Perfectly located in the White Mountains, a few kilometers from Mount Washington and a very good starting point for hiking.
