I needed to escape, and this was the perfect place.  My husband took me on what I thought was a long drive for the day. We drove by the Bella Vista and I commented on how beautiful and quaint it was, and how I missed  these types of properties.  We continued up the road and he pointed out the Lakeside Cafe saying that he had heard they had good food. (He drives through Bear Lake several times a week for work) Imagine my surprise when he circled backed to the motel and pulled up to a room telling me he had rented it for us!  The owner even helped my husband by getting flowers and leaving them in the room for me.  Vintage, comfy, clean, and cozy. We WILL be back!

Refreshing and relaxing

Though we only stayed two nights,  we really enjoyed our room. 

The room we had, 104, was spacious, clean & comfortable. The neds were firm & perfect. 

Even though it is on a main road, it was fairly quiet. The owners are wonderful & kind. The pool was closed for the season & breakfast was stopped due to low weekday volume, but that was okay with us.

The TV was updated but the rest of the room was fine "as is".

Clean & comfortable 

A great little spot to rest your head for the night while traveling. very clean and comfortable. The owners were very nice. And accommodating for are very late arrival. Bear lake right across the street.

Weekend getaway 

This is like the same motel I stayed in when I was a kid traveling with the family and it hasn't been remodeled.  
The room was a good size but the bathroom was claustrophobic. It was clean, just so outdated. 
I'll never travel on the cheap again, I need amenities and this place had none.

1965?

We were looking for a good place to jump off on our drive up MI-22 and ended up finding the Bella Vista. The place is quaint in that old motor court way. The owners/front desk personnel are simply not very good. There are inadequate coverings on the windows -- we ended up taking a blanket and trying to cover the window to block out some of the light (it stays light until 10 p.m. this far north). The room was clean.

No more than average

Very rude owner! A jazz band from New Orleans stayed there a few nights while here on tour.  The owner went through all their rooms while they were at a gig & turned off all electrical stuff that was on, unplugged anything that was charging....
