Pleasantly Surprised.  The exterior may not look like much, but the rooms were actually updated and very clean.  Gem of a property for the price.  Staff were friendly and helpful, and perfect quiet spot.  

Surprising

Excellent service, clean room, comfortable bed, really comfortable pillows, great water pressure and temperature! I will definitely be staying here again. It is a 2 to 2.5 star experience, excellent for the price, and I hope they continue getting customers to support the new management.

Excellent and Restful stay!

Trying to make reservation. Desk clerk is the rudest person I have ever spoken with. Will not make a reservation with a credit card and will not hold room . I am about 50 miles away. I don't know how they expect to rent a room if they won't take a reservation. Expedia says they have 7 rooms open, but rude desk clerk tells me they are full. How can that be? We have stayed here many, many times and will never go again. 


Rude Staff!

My wife is disabled, and usually does our hotel bookings; when she does, she ALWAYS asks for a handicapped-accessible room. When we got there, we were told that the only room available was a third-floor walk up (two flights of stairs). The clerk lied and said that we had not requested an accessible room. We had to find other accommodations in addition to paying for an unused night at their NON-ADA compliant hotel. AVOID this hotel like the plague!!

NO handicapped accommodations in spite of request

Went in to check in at 330, asked if I could wait until 4.  When I said no, the tattooed Amish bearded front desk lacky lost his crap.  Began to yell and curse at me.  Worst customer service ever.  Walked off while I was trying to talk to him.  What horrible service, and the hallways and floors were nasty.

Avoid

We were traveling the night before Thanksgiving like lots of people. So we got a room half way.  The morning we were supposed to check in,  I woke up with the flu. I had booked thru the Wyndham page.  I was really sick and called them several times that day to let them know we couldn't make it.  The front desk person was hateful and kept saying ..24  hour policy!!!   and you didn't book thru us !!  cancel thru  the siteyou booked on.  I called the Wyndam site and since it was night before holiday I guess the switchboard didn't work.  pressing  the numbers did nothing.  So we ended up being put down as a no show. and charged $125.    later the Wyndham people were very nice and explained that each hotel is privately owned. but they usually work with you if you speak to the manager.    Well. all this manager got was be hateful.  We hoped we could stay at another time for the money charged atleast since we didn't cancel with in 24 hours. but they didn't want to be nice in any way.     I've never seen or even heard of any business being as rude as they were.

got sick and tried to cancel ..horrible experience

I stayed at this hotel from December 2nd through December 3rd. When we first got in I noticed a piece of trash on the floor but I figured no big deal hopefully they cleaned the room. I went to get in bed and that was when I noticed a piece of gum was stuck to the matress cover and what looked like food was smeared into the bed skirt. It was 2am at this point and I had a small child with me who would wake up if I had them fix it then so I waited till morning and asked the front desk if they could change these things and told them about the gum and food. I showed her pictures and everything. I will say the girl working the front desk was very nice! I told her we were leaving for the entire day so there was no huge rush. We got back at 1am and there was still gum and food on the bed. The trash that was there when we got there had been moved to the window for some reason. There was also a sign that said 24 hr coffee bar but never once had coffee and I checked several times because there was no coffee maker in the room. I feel like for $100 bucks a night not having food stuck to your bed is not a lot to ask for. We come to this area several times a year and we will not be staying in this hotel again.

Not clean at all

I used this hotel as a stopover on my way to State College to watch a College football game.  The location is just off the turnpike.  

The hotel is old.  Next to some fast food places.   The sign at the front said it was an award winning hotel.  Since, mine was a late night checkout, the check in was fast.  

The hotel does not have a lift.  You have to climb the stairs.  The room was quiet, and the décor was old.  This is a dated hotel.  The room matched the price I paid for it and I could not complain.

There are some interesting places to visit in Bedford like the covered bridges and gravity hill.   There not much of view from my room. 


Good stopover to visit the local area

Room and bathroom very small. Lobby and hallway very (but not unpleasant) "perfumery". Prepackaged Cinnamon roll pastry in the "bagged" free breakfast was very dried out. The bathroom  very clean and looked like it had recently been updated. Found half empty coffee cup in the microwave. No tissues in the tissue container.


You get what you pay for.

I chose this for an overnight in transit based on reviews and price, and it met my expectations. Knowing there is no elevator I requested a ground floor room and got one near the entrance that was down a short flight of 3 steps. The room was clean and comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. "Breakfast" was a takeaway bag. This is a no-frills hotel. Several fast-food restaurants are nearby.
