Compared to other Motel6s, this was a nice place because it appeared new. No furniture or decoration in the lobby, for instance. Paint was fresh. However, it seemed they were subject to vandalism (The couch was sliced). Tiles were loose in bathroom. Faucet dripped. The TV sounded like the speakers were coming through paper towel tubes. Funny...

They were almost sold out, so we were grateful. Bed was nice. The room was silent all night. Desk lady was quite nice and well trained. The $89 price was high for Motel6 in my opinion but...

This year I took my Spring Break in NM. I have friends in Bernalillo and they were fascinated to move to NM for their retirement years. Not only they live close to this hotel but, this hotel provided me with the perfect location where I was able to sleep well and commute to do my sightseeing, visit Santa Fe and Albuquerque within minutes. I love it...and the price was right. 

Spring Break

This hotel needs a MAJOR overhaul!!!  Beds ok.  Pillows lumpy.  Clean rooms except for kitchen sink.  No pet fee.  NO grass to potty your dogs....only rocks.  Where there should be grass are briars.  Gas station next door is closed and boarded up.  Scary location.  Hotel backs up to I25.  My room was on front so did not hear noise in room.  Food & shopping down road but hard to get into the turn off for the hotel - only one direction unless you make a U turn.  No furniture in the lobby.  They put vending machines in the eating area.  No food or coffee.  Room numbers are written in pencil on masking tape.  Emergency sign in case of fire was hand drawn.  Furniture in rooms falling apart.  Cold shower even with turning the handle all the way to hot.  Room 206 does not lock.  You simply push the door open.  I had to change rooms after I took a load into room.  Front desk seemed surprised even though cleaning lady said she told them day before lock broken.  Got moved to another room.  Had to get room key re-keyed every day.  Would not open.  Was grateful I was able to change to a suite to have fridge & microwave.  Bring everything you need because only thing provided is a couple of bars of soap & plastic cups.  Staff were pleasant but did not seem happy to have the job.

The hotel room was nicely appointed and clean. We were there for 3 nights and the housekeeping is only required to change towels and remove garbage. Shower was good. No breakfast but have refrigerator  and microwave

Inexpensive

We were staying in Bernalillo for a family reunion. Our reserved room was supposed to be a suite with bathtub and living area. There was no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, or any other amenities offered by any other hotels. The sofa in the living area was torn, stained, and dirty with animal hair on the underside of the cushions.
The non-smoking room had cigarette burns on the bathtub and counter. The tile flooring was not finished at the tub or behind the bathroom door. 
The floor was very dirty. The sink, counter, and microwave were unsanitary.

Our reserved suite was awful

Unprofessional. The website for this location is untrustworthy. The amenities described do not exist. Review photos of the room I stayed in, the next morning I opened the drapes to discover the window was broken and unlocked. The other photos confirm that you do not want to stay here.

Unsafe

I arrived to the property, checked in, and made my way to the room. The check in process was easy and all seemed “ok”… a littlesmelly due to tenants smoking in rooms (for example my NON smoking room, reeked of cigarettes).

Upon reaching my room I noticed all the room numbers were taped and written in with permanent marker… odd but alright.

Once I walked in that when I immediately noticed  the smell of smoke (as mentioned above), and also began noticing and group of different “room discrepancies” and even safety code violations.

What I saw…

1.) the light fixture above the bed:

the cover to the light was broken and hanging down on one end and another portion of the same light cover had something stained on it.

2.) the amenities listed online pertaining to my room were not actually included (like a fridge).

The bathroom:

1.) the shower head was coming out of a literal hole in the wall about 2-3” in diameter.

2.) the ceiling fan cover was broken and the fan hole was completely exposed.

3.) the light fixture for the “heat lamp” was  not only exposed completely due to the cover being broken but there was also no light in the socket and had live power (extreme fire/electrical hazard).

… upon noticing all this I immediately went down stairs and brought it to the attention of the front desk clerk.

Her only response to all the above was… “oh, those room don’t come with amenities, only our sweets do” at which time I pulled up there website and showed her what is listed to which she responded “well there’s nothing I can do”.

* I’d like to remind you per DOT regulations there was nothing I could do either.

I made it clear this was not ok and I would refused to have my deposit garnished for anything in the room…

Upon going back upstairs I felt like that would be it and my intent was to just take a shower and leave as soon as I could…I turned on the shower letting it warm while I was grabbing my change of clothes. Upon stepping in the shower I immediately realized the water was cold, having though I mistakenly set the knob incorrectly I turned it and it got even colder!

I went down stairs and brought this new discrepancy to the clerk to which she replied “oh, yeah… the water boiler has been broke, the entire building hasn’t had hot water”

I was stunned… at that very moment another potential customer was asking about room prices when she responded but didn’t mention anything about the “no hot water” I made mention. The patrons did not end up booking.

There response to this was to call the police and have me removed from the premises for disrupting there business.  They also did so without refunding the 145 dollars spent on the room.

I have never in my entire adult/ professional life have I been treated so horribly as a patron somewhere (I’m 35 years old and a business owner of a pressure washing service company) and was completely appalled at there customer service as well as there lack of concern/care for there patrons.

To back up I requested to speak with a manager several times to which the clerk could never provide me with name or contact her on her own…

I’d like to make mention also of another group downstairs at the time locked out of there room… it was 3 older women and an older man. The hotel issued them a room that only had a master key and when they went to dinner and lost it the hotel couldn’t provide them with a remake to get into the room… they were downstairs for 2+ hours (and still after I left).

This is absolutely obsurd and unbecoming of ANY hotel service company! I will be filing formal complaints with their corporate office, on every social media platform, to include Google, yelp, and other hotel booking sites!

False Advertising, Horrible Conditions, even worse customer service

Horrible motel, DO NOT STAY HERE. Reserved a room.  First room had no toilet seat. Second room had no controls on heater. THIRD room offered was only almost ok. No maintenance staff. Room numbers are torn masking tape with sharpie marks on the door. Trash everywhere, no cleaning crew. Lobby, halls, all dirty. Night host tried his best to help but the facilities are way past saving.  Only good thing was that the guy at the desk was doing his best and was trying really hard. Windows were not secure and looked out onto trash. Map shows a Burger King and Quik Shop right next door, those no longer exist, don't be fooled, you'll have to go into Bernalillo to get any food. Also if you go east to get to it I think you have to go up the hill towards Placitas, turn around then come back to get the road in.

Burn. It. Down.

The room was the smallest we've seen this side of New York City. Furniture hadn't been upgraded since 1954. Peeling wallpaper, cracked tile. Deadbolt would not engage.
On the other hand, paper-thin walls and skimpy towels. We survived one night because of their no pet fee policy but next time would just cough up the extra ten bucks.

Well you probably won't die

i have stayed here previous years and no issues although this time was different. 
I was disappointed to see that the bathroom lacked kleenex, the container in the wall where it used to be was covered by a piece of wood. Where the hair blow dryer was, it wasn't anymore. But what got me the most was that there was no clock or telephone!!!! I mean, for safety reasons, shouldn't a phone be in the room?? When having troubles, I had to go downstairs every time!!! And I've never been in a motel where there's no clock! The remote control for the tv had no batteries in it and when I went down to the office, I got new ones and they didn't work! I went back downstairs again to get a different remote control. But again, nothing worked, the cable or sattelite network was not connected up. So that meant, no tv could be watched but of course I didn't know that until 3 trips downstairs to the office because of NO PHONE!!! I coudlnt even change rooms, as she said they had no extra... One bed was short sheeted as well -- no flat sheet, just fitted and blanket. 
Totally not acceptable
