Room has used q tips lying around and didn’t seemed to be cleaned well. Ran out of toilet paper early morning and none in sight. Staff was kind but not a luxury inn. Big fork is a cool spot to stay and nice quiet place. 

No TP in rooms

I loved this place.  I chose it solely because of its proximity to the Bigfork Playhouse.  Some of the previous reviews had me very nervous, but I assume they were coming from people who wanted brand name hotels.  The Swan River Inn has so much character and uniqueness, it is very much one of a kind.  I stayed in the Leather and Lace suite which was clean and easy meaning there were plenty of plugs and coffee and shampoo.  It was quiet and quaint and comfortable.   I have never seen anything like the brick shower.    I can't wait to return and try all the rooms.  

I loved this place!

My friend and I stayed in the Art Deco room. It says lovely. Hot water, which was lukewarm, could've been hotter, other than that no complaints. My husband and I stayed in the Crystal Pallace room in June, it exceeded or expectations. View SAS lovely sitting on the balcony or from room. Not only a jet hot tub but the walk in shower is a amazing!

Had to climb a spiral staircase with our luggage and a dog to get to our room. There was a wrapped candy on the floor, so it clearly hadn't been vacuumed. There was a hair on the toilet and cobwebs in corners of the ceiling, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were stains on the bedspread and bleach marks on the hand towels. Someone else's left over food was in the mini fridge. The room was hot and stuffy and, overall, gross! We asked for our money back after waiting all day to check in b/c they wouldn't let us in early. We only got a portion of our money refunded b/c they have a 70.00 non-refundable deposit policy. This place was totally misrepresented. Don't waste your time or money on this nasty place.

Margrit the owner hasn't a care in the world if you leave happy, as long as she has your money, what you think about the service cleanliness or what room you reserved or thought you reserved does not matter. If you are booking a wedding here don't, she has double booked and ruined wedding days for multiple couples, does she care? Absolutely not. If you leave a tip to your server during your wedding, you better believe she gets her hands on that money also, she makes the server give her their tip money and splits it up and you receive your tip money on payday, well whats left of it after she divides it up between her and the staff. Working wedding parties all summer on year with gratuity at 18 percent most I ever made with hourly wages also was 800 dollars for 2 weeks.

What a disappointment and a ripoff this place is.  The "Rooftop Penthouse" is a disaster.  We arrived to find a blue tarp covering the deck, the patio furniture was stacked in a corner, random propane tanks LEAKING and blocking the outdoor fireplace, no where to hang out and enjoy the view.  Beau at the front desk apologized and gave us the only other available room, the "Geisha Room."  This room was FILTHY,!  There was garbage in the bathroom garbage can from the previous occupants, there was filth and grime EVERYWHERE, the heater didn't work, we were left with a 1/4 roll of toilet paper and nothing more, the TV didn't work, there is a strange closet with a washer and dryer and their cleaning supplies along with 2 guest robes..?  The closet waste can also had garbage in it from God knows who.  I complained but it all fell on def ears.  The owner charged me the full $202.00. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!

Shabby!!!!

This place has great potential. The owner did a great job with design and decor. It’s everything else that lacks the necessary attention to make this place great. I booked the honeymoon suite (the geisha room) for a romantic getaway with my husband. We tried, really, to just keep a positive mindset but it was hard when we felt so grossed out and uncomfortable. The carpets were dirty, there was hair in our sheets, there are cobwebs everywhere, and it’s just dingy. The dark lighting is probably intentional so guests can’t see all the filth. Aside from that, things we booked the room for simply didn’t work. The fireplace does not work. Called the front desk and the gal tried to help but she kept telling me to use the fan remote. She even tried herself. I’m telling you, this is the fan remote. This is not the fireplace remote. Upon discovery, we say so much battery aids corrosion on the ignitor there’s no way it could even work. She told us they would fix it tomorrow. It never got fixed. I am still upset about this. I asked her how to use the fountain- she said it used to work and then shrugged. Oh... I tried it myself only to discover so much mold and slime dripping from the poorer that I just couldn’t continue. We aLmost left after night one but we tried to bare it. We used the jacuzzi- after cleaning it ourselves. The shower has a strange dirt smell. This place is not luxurious. Don’t let the price fool you. I’d the owner just put more focus into making sure things worked and were clean and sanitary it would be great.

If you’re looking for luxury, this ain’t it 

If you appreciate attention to detail and unique artistic features then you will be amazed at the atmosphere this place offers. If you are pretentious and snooty then don't stay here and then write a bad review.  The owner is very accommodating and the staff is extremely courteous. The price is most reasonable especially when you compare prices from the surrounding area.

Great place to stay

We were very disappointed in the cleanliness and condition of our room, (Art Deco).
Very run down, broken toilet lid, crack in bathtub, curtain rod over main window bent, well used beds and bedding. No amenities for showering.
For the price we were expecting much more, needless to say we will not be returning 😩

Weekend getaway 

We came to Bigfork to play on the lake, needed a last minute room that was pet friendly and room to park a boat. The owner is wonderful, the apartment was huge with a warm atmosphere. The apartment is attached to an antique store, was nervous about the exterior appearance but pleasantly surprised with what we found inside. I would recommend this place to my those with children or people looking to be just outside of the hustle and bussel of town. 

Swan River Inn has 2 locations, in town and a mile outside of town.
