My husband and I stayed in room 14, which had an ensuite bathroom. This place is really cool if you like historic B&Bs. We go to Bisbee regularly, but this was the first time staying at Oliver House. We really liked the feel of the building: warm, cozy, and laid back. Rich Edwardian woods and fixtures grace the whole building. The location is perfect: close enough to walk to everything, but not directly on the street, so not so noisy. Has wonderful views off the front balcony so if you want to people watch, there's always something going on. The owner and her family, including the doggos and cat, were very nice and welcoming. The room was small, as expected of the era, but very clean and had all that we needed.  The owner had coffee and quiche ready for guests in the morning. The artwork in the halls and rooms was eclectic and fun. Really have nothing bad to say about the place. I would recommend you look at their website before booking, as many rooms do not have an ensuite bath and that might throw people off a bit. But we loved the place and will very likely try to book it again, if there's an opening.

Laid back and cool.

On Fridays a group of us that walked the stairs in Bisbee would head to the Back Porch for breakfast. As we had dogs with us we reserved the outside since there were usually 6 of us and at least 2 dogs
The breakfasts are so good and so reasonable. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy 1/2 order is huge. Quirky, fun place with good food. I’ll miss it

Bisbee Stair Walkers

Best biscuits n gravy ever! Small but excellent breakfast selection. $12.00 for 2 meals. Out of this world Trish is amazing and makes cheddar biscuits and bread in house.

Accommodations are rustic and amazing. Excellent service couldn’t be more happy

Best brekky in bisbee

My husband and I were celebrating our 12th anniversary. Time and money were both tight, but, with about two days' planning, we decided to take a very short road trip from Tucson to Bisbee. We honestly chose The Oliver House initially because it was cheap and named after a dog.

We were in for the BEST surprise! The Oliver House is just completely awesome. Dark wood, art and antiques everywhere, a balcony with amazing views and two beds for lounging outside, and a fabulous host/owner who worked her butt off that weekend, but still made sure we had everything we needed.

When we were checking in, Trish noticed our bed was small and we are not. :) She generously upgraded us to a kingsize room. Her kindness is matched only by her wicked sense of humor. We liked her immediately. The corner room was simple, but very clean. The mattress was firm, there were plenty of blankets, and the dark wood sleigh bed and all around window views were stunning.

The place felt private - quiet and secluded - yet we were easily walking distance from everything. No need for a designated driver! We did a ghost tour and found out from fab Ghost Host Renee that The Oliver House was one of the most haunted locations in Arizona. BONUS! Unfortunately, we didn't have any creepy encounters (this time), but, to be fair, we were both pretty inebriated by the time we stumbled up the stairs. Ghosts could have been flying in an out of our noses and we probably would have slept through it.

We were greeted home after a great night out by the welcoming scent of freshly popped corn. Maybe there were ghosts, because Trish was working elsewhere, but the popcorn was real and delicious. We hung out in the lounge and enjoyed a bottle of wine - glasses and cork screw were all provided. In the morning, the wine glasses and popcorn had been replaced with a fresh pot of coffee and a huge, open bottle of ibuprofen. It's like she knew!

On the ground floor, one of the bathrooms has a clawfoot tub!! Next time, I'm bringing the bubble bath and setting aside an extra hour. Our room did not have a private bathroom, which I was initially worried about, but it was fine. Plenty of bathrooms to choose from and never had a wait.

The absolutely only disappointing thing is that the dog - a gorgeous, polar bear looking beast - did not seem to like us. He kind of growled (with his tail wagging) and kept his distance. I am a crazy dog lady, so next time, I am lining my pockets with bacon treats and trying harder to make friends.

We really, really love this place! It is so much more than just a bed to crash in in Bisbee. The personality and charm is everywhere - from building to owner. For sure, we will be back.

Perfect anniversary trip!

Our stay was relaxing, with no TV's or radios to disturb us. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the house and grounds are lovely.  Trish, the owner, is friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable.

Great hospitality and cozy rooms!

Once again the TSS Escaped to Bisbee on our Annual Steampunk Adventure and invaded the Oliver House.  We had the BEST time ever.  Trish was the most pleasant of hosts, as usual and and once again allowed us to take over the parlor for a late evening PJ party.  This B and B has the best energy.  I slept so wonderfully in my big comfy queen bed.  I had a room with a claw foot tub / shower and private water closet for room 13. For breakfast we were lucky to get in on the Muffin Wars!  It was a competition between the blueberry with cream cheese frosting or Bacon Maple muffins.  I am not sure who won, they were both so good.   I think we all really enjoyed our time here.  I can't wait to come back and visit again next year.  TSS loves the Oliver House.  

Information for travelers.  This B and B does not come with modern distractions like TV.  Some rooms have private baths, but others share a bath down the hall like a dorm. The bathrooms have always been very clean.  The floors are all hard wood.  Each room has it's own window AC and fans.  I have always found the rooms to be clean and tidy whenever I have stayed.  The Wifi was strong and steady while we were there.  There is a nice front porch with seating to enjoy the view or the balcony upstairs.  The parlor has a bar, piano, and tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the view as well. There is a Koi pond and beautiful yard to enjoy next to the front porch.   Parking is challenging in Bisbee, but there are 3 parking areas very near by the hotel.  Ask for directions if you can and it is your first time there.   To get to the hotel you must go along a walk way and across a walking bridge.  Open the gate and then up 3 steps to the front porch.  The hotel has columns on the porch.

The Tucson Steampunk Society loves the Oliver House

First things first. When it comes to a review one bad experience rating out of 72 is awesome. That's a place I dream of finding. People like "Stacey G" only made this B&B sound more fun and exciting. On that note I'm a former marine and have stayed multiple times @ oliver house B&B every time more enjoyable than the last. The difference for anyone going to Bisbee would be the touristy feeling that does not exist there. Oliver house gives you the feeling as if you live there or once were there. Trish the owner is an amazing woman with the best breakfasts in town the last visit I sat with a couple who were allergic to certain foods and she had no problem switching to a meal of there choice. I have had nothing but wonderful exciting experiences each and every time we have stayed, but I also don't make it a habit to find myself on vacation trying to find every single problem I can to make my stay unpleasant. I can confirm the internet was down cause I was calling to book that week when I found out someone had crashed into the lines and passed away. So all in all if you like to vacation like you used to with great service and were you can meet new people and enjoy yourself in a safe and friendly environment I would recommend The Oliver House to anyone. The hauntings I would beg to differ I have videos of orbs as well as my first stay my son woke up freaking us out that the closet was trying to open. Well indeed he was correct the door was shaking off it's hinges when I put my hands on the door knob it suddenly stopped. Upon asking about it Trish informed us she forgot to tell us that a man hung himself in that closet. We also stayed in room thirteen you won't always get an experience but you will feel the eyes crawling on your skin every time to switch off the lights and make that 5 foot journey to the bed. Love this place my children absolutely love it and if I could give more circles for review I would. Best little hidden secret bed and breakfast in town. 

Greatest B&B ever without all the fakeness

Found this B & B on-line.  The price was right and there were very positive reviews on it's website.  With one night, we thought we would take a chance. Our room had a queen sized bed and bathroom, which we wanted.  The room itself was nothing fancy, but seriously, we were only there to sleep.  What made this experience so remarkable is Trish, the owner.  She knows the history of Bisbee and the surrounding area, knows all the restaurants and made us breakfast - to order.  (Which was excellent)

Oliver House is off the main drag, so there was no street noise, and I did read that some of the Bed & Breakfasts in town had that as a complaint.  It was tricky finding how to get into the building, but Trish saw us from her window and guided us in.
