Fabulous.  A great stay.  Great service from all staff members we encountered.  Relaxed self service breakfast included.  Noon checkout.  No pressure.  Basic wifi sufficient for work calls too.  An added bonus.  Didn't have the opportunity to use the pool.  Would do so in the future.

Always a great stay at this Residence Inn!

Only here for one night, but a terrific stay.  Staff was helpful, accommodating, friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my having a positive experience.  Free on property parking, (short) walking distance to restaurants, drugstore, etc. Convenient to campus.

Hot/cold breakfast is included, everything was fully stocked, fresh and well maintained.  Room very well laid out and comfortable with all the expected Residence Inn appliances and cookware/dishes.  Temperature control was spot on, room was well lit and spacious, plenty of towels, comfortable bed. The lighting was excellent - kitchen, sitting area, bed and bathroom.  Tons of USB ports and power plugs.  Spacious work area.

Only (minor) negative - the streaming services were not working on the TV, though available in the menu.  Same (network) error as the last Marriott but working at the one before that - would be nice to see this consistently working across properties as it's a great feature.

First Choice in Blacksburg Going Forward

An unexpected trip to Blacksburg required a last minute reservation during a difficult time.  I cannot praise Kayleigh from the front desk enough!  She was patient, helpful and professional as she dealt with my unusual situation and immediate need for more than one room.  Kayleigh's  exceptional customer service and kindness was greatly appreciated.

Exceptional front desk

This is a great location close to town and Virginia Tech.  It’s a fairly new property:  bright, clean and spacious.  It also has a really great breakfast buffet that is open till 10AM on weekdays.  The staff is really friendly.  I particularly wanted to mention Kayla, who runs the breakfast area.  As I mentioned before there was plenty of good/fresh food.  It was well stocked.  Kayla goes well out of her way to make you feel welcome and to get you anything and everything you need.  Thank you, Kayla, for the southern hospitality.  For folks visiting VATech, this hotel is right across the street from the visitor’s center (where you would start your day)!

Great stay in Blacksburg—Location/property/service

Had a short stay here while driving up I-81. Location is great, with restaurants within walking distance, and adjacent to Virginia Tech. The room was clean and in great condition…the only problem was walking in on one of the coldest nights in years and the room was 61 degrees with the air conditioner on! It took over two hours for the room to warm to a “normal” temperature.

Other than that, though, it was a nice stay and I would choose this property again.

Comfortable…once I turned on the heat!

First time visiting the Blacksburg area and this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the front desk staff were and how clean the facility was. The hotel has a lot of eateries and amenities close by. Also it’s right next to the Virginia Tech campus. I will definitely stay here if I need to visit Blacksburg again.

Nice place to stay next to VT

Thanks to Pablo for being so helpful in getting us our room! We came to Blacksburg for a tour of Virginia Tech and our stay was great. Comfortable room, clean, friendly staff, convenient location - we really enjoyed it

Would definitely stay here again

This property is centrally located to VA Tech and has good highway access. Everything was clean. Our suite was spacious, especially the kitchen, which made it a great place to stay for our family.

While the breakfast selection wasn’t plentiful, I appreciated having access to GF items in the breakfast buffet.

Good Family Hotel

Visited property in April for a reunion at Virginia Tech. Hotel is across the street from the campus alumni center. It’s within walking distance for numerous shops and restaurants. I had two rooms at the property: one for two nights and a second room for one night. The hotel associates worked to get the rooms adjacent for the second night. I really appreciated that effort. Parking is ample and property is clean (including pool area!). The small market area is helpful for last minute food and beverages. The only negative I experienced was the breakfast. The majority of the foods were not tasty or fresh. The breakfast attendant was working very hard (even had her daughter helping for an early weekend hour) so I cannot fault the effort or her attitude (very friendly). It just appears that the default for breakfast at the property is pre-made or pre-packaged goods instead of the normal Residence Inn breakfast you’d find (most RIs have scrambled or boiled eggs, waffle maker, mixed fruit, yogurts, breakfast meats, fresh pastries/bagels/toast, oatmeal, juices, milk, coffee, and maybe a speciality item or two). Despite the breakfast, I would stay here again for any needs at Virginia Tech or in the community. And if staying for a football or basketball game, it’ll be about a 20 minute walk to the stadium or basketball arena (walk straight across the street and keep walking up the hill til you reach the stadium).
