Wanted a place between Cherokee and Bryson city, this was good. Building is in poor shape, outside chairs were flaking paint. Yard was in need of a good mowing. Inside dust on chairs, headboards and all corners. Flaking paint in bathroom. The room smelled old and had a odor. Grandson got yelled at for skateboarding.

One night done us

Not exactly what we expected after seeing a 4 star rating. This property  is very dated.. stuck in the 50’s/60’s. Dingy furnishings and carpeting. It could use some updating and cleaning. There are 2 buildings to this property, I think the one we don’t stay in was a bit newer.

Dated and worn

Just returned from a trip to Bryson City. Stayed here and the owners are fabulous! It's a mom-and-pop No Frills Hotel, but a fabulous experience! The owners are so kind. I love the lawn behind the hotel which has a fire pit and seating for the evenings. I sat and watched 3 beavers feeding in the river as an elk walked by in the background, and then these three majestic elk feeding in the vegetation across the river and the field next to the hotel. I wish I would have time to  sit there for days!

Wonderful place to stay!

The Two Rivers Motel is half way between Bryson City and Cherokee on old US 19 and sets at the confluence of two rivers, thus the name.  Blaine and Cathy are the on site owners keep a quiet, clean and comfortable "mom  and pop" motel with no frills.  The rooms are comfortable but not richly furnished.  But you should get a good nights rest.  Behind the motel next to the river is a a picnic area with a fire pit, grills and tables.  Around desk you may catch the small herd of elk walking through and their way to a field for the night.  In addition there are geese, otter, beavers and other wildlife to enjoy,  You will have to go to either Bryson City or Cherokee for meals, both about five miles away.

If you don't need frills, just a comfy place to stop for one or several days, I recommend it.  I will be a frequent guest hill on my motorcycle travels in the mountains.

Nice no frills old motel

We had a wonderful stay! Our room was clean, mattress and pillow were more comfy than at home. We had everything we needed. We also loved that it was American owned and the owner always seemed available if needed. The River view and fire pit area were perfect in the cold rainy weather. We seen multiple elk in a field just down the road. It was the perfect distance to all attractions.

Perfect place to stay!

The small family run motel is a real gem. The room is spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable. There’s a fire pit with picnic tables right down by the river and we had a lovely evening in front of a fire. I highly recommend it. The host is a very gracious.

A Real Gem!

I am a 100% handicap, disabled veteran.  that has a service dog.  Made my  reservation on line, third party.  Drove 8 hours, one way.  Was told that because I didn't have my  service dog's shot record, no record, no room.   I tried to reason with the owner to no avail.; explained Federal law.  He replied, "I make the rules here.'  Read the owners Facebook page BEFORE making reservation...scary!

We were very pleasantly surprised with how nice this little gem was. We arrived very, very late, but the owners stayed up to check us in. The beds were so comfortable. The room was perfectly clean. It was just immaculate. It is an older property, but I don’t understand the complaints about the size of the bathroom. There is a toilet and a tub. The sink is near the little closet. What else do you need? It is not the Ritz Carlton. It is charming and old school and fun. The only thing I didn’t love is that the water would not transfer to the shower completely, no matter how I tried, so I had a really weak water pressure shower. That’s just a plumbing problem that can be corrected. It is a charming. The owners are friendly. It is very clean. I just wish we hadn’t arrived so late so we could have enjoyed it a bit more. It was lovely. 

Super clean, friendly owners, charming property

The lodge was such a nostalgic place to classic America mountain motel. The rooms were very clean. The owners were very friendly and sweet. Having the river on the back made it even more special. It has spacious open parking lot for any trucks with trailers. Family style atmosphere. My favorite was seeing humming birds by the office, since they had bird feeders. Overall, perfect simple mountain lodge!

Family vacation 

Older hotel with small rooms but, location is fantastic. Not fancy at all just stayed one night. Owner was helpful and knowledgeable about the area, close to Bryson City and Cherokee. Bryson City has a happening restaurant scene for a small town. Would stay again to jump between local attractions. Fantastic river views
