Renter beware! We rented a unit over Memorial Day weekend and were informed 24 hours before check-in that we would have no lanai because of construction. Very disappointing but had no other feasible rental options at the point. Do not rent from Mike Puopolo! Not only did he keep us uninformed about the lanai (acted like he was told it would be done... we talked to other owners & the property management company. They said that was not the case), he also lied in response to my vrbo review, misrepresenting our communication. I would probably stay at another place there, after the construction is done, but would avoid renting from him at all costs.

Renter beware!

We very much enjoyed our time at this location - many positives and drawbacks at the same time.  
Positives: The walk to the beach is very convenient.  Especially with children it is easy to come and go from the pool to the beach with ease.  There is a cross walk which makes it (relatively) safe to cross but you must be careful as many drivers ignore the crosswalk signal and continue straight through!  There are two pools, about equal in size  with a maximum depth of 6 feet.  It is so nice the parking lot and pool area are done with pavers.  They do not get too hot which is great for little feet!  Accessibility to shops and restaurants is great as well - easy to get groceries, needed items, and go out for dining. The view (from our condo) is a dream!  More than 180 degrees of gulf views.  What a gorgeous view!  

Negatives:  Traffic.  While the view is incredible there are very brief moments of quiet when you can hear the gulf.  There is constant flow of cars and noise which does take away from the view.  There is also quiet a distracting fountain which, when there is a calm in the traffic is all you can hear.  There is a lack of security which I find troublesome.  All buildings and floors are accessible.  There should be a keyfob or code for entry to the buildings.  Same with parking.  I have seen so many people come to park for the beach and simply walk across to the beach access. There is no signage this is private property/pass needed/security on site. 



Price matches stay

Facilities were fine. Owners  and agent were professional to our needs.   Biggest area of concerns were the construction on the building and parking. HOA did a lousy job of keeping non guests from parking on site. With sites being taken by construction parking was limited. People going to the county park or Doc's would take sites that should have gone to guests. 

Parking woes

We gone the last few years , It was nice b4 this yr 2022  but the next 3 yrs they are doing major construction on all balconies you cannot use them they are boarded up its very noisy The places are small as it is … the balcony is what made it livable!  Sadly we won’t be back till then if at all ! Time for change  it’s not relaxing with hammers and drills and hack hammers 6 days a week ! 8:15 am till 4 pm my husband had terrible headaches from the noise I thought the mirror inside was going to break as I held it ! I certainly don’t want to be blamed! Prices still climb in most units ? Our guy was fair most are actually charging more? It’s hard to fathom! Make sure your building is done b4 you book again it’s a 3 yr project beware for 2023 and 2024

Bonita beach & Tennis club

I have previously written very complementary reviews on this site but things have changed. There is a "Construction Site" at this location. Building One is undergoing structure updates as well as painting. In Building One is a mess. It is a construction site with equipment and dust & all over. Available parking near Building One has been reduced.  Right now, there is drilling to repair some structure damage. There is drilling during the day which can be painful if you are in your unit.

As I understand the situation, the process is to complete Building One and then move to the next building until the job is finished.

Unfortunately, we have rented a unit in Building One. We were not told the truth and we didn't know the facts of the Construction Site. Don't make the same mistake as we did. GET THE FACTS BEFORE YOU SIGN  !!!

A Construction Site

We booked condo 4306 ("Starfish Retreat") via airbnb (Kevin & Stacey) and it was an excellent choice. The condo was recently fully refurbished (Sep/Oct 2021) and everything was perfect. All condos in the Bonita B&T Club are the same format, they are studio flats with a small kitchen area, a seating area, a double bed, a decent sized bathroom with shower and a balcony. There are dozens on the market advertised on airbnb. The location is wonderful, steps from the beach, you just need to cross the road and you're at Doc's Beach House, which is the local "pub/restaurant" by the beach. They serve good dinners, we went a few times. The beach is fantastic, you can have an hour or two of walks or you can just lie down on a towel and get the sun shine on you. The water is calm and pleasantly warm, even in December when we went. Plenty of choice for kayaking, we did a few tours and loved it. A kayaking trip around Estero Bay is a must as is a kayaking trip on the Orange River at Manatee Park in Ft Myers. We also drove an hour to the Marathon filling station in the Everglades on the Tamiami Trail and took a kayaking tour from there (that's where you meet your guide and then drive a short distance to the kayaking launch site), We kayaked right through the mangroves with alligators looking at you from the side of the river or sitting lazy in the river. Don't worry, it's safe, apparently we're not really on their menu. Plenty of wild orchids are on show also. Overall we love Bonita Springs, it's so convenient between Naples and Ft Myers with plenty of shops and restaurants in town. If you love to be close to a beach, then the B&T Club is perfect. We actually met our host Stacy when we checked out of the room, she's lovely and we could feel that she cares for her flat and her guests. Thank you Stacy for having us.

Excellent Condo 4306 Starfish Retreat

My fiance and I stayed here for 3-weeks in January,  She works remotely and the WIFI worked fine for her to log into her work server. 

We had a Studio on the 5th floor of building #3. Our unit faced the Gulf, but be careful, if you book here, as some units face the parking lot.  As of this posting (1/18/22), Building #1 is under construction so avoid that building, 

Our unit was a 1 bed / 1 bath studio, 500 sq ft.  Good for two people, but it would be cramped for more than two. 

The unit was well appointed and we had no real issues.   The king bed could use a new  mattress or a firmer one, there was a big "soft spot" in the middle that was not very comfortable.

There are (5) 10-story buildings on the property, the two pools are behind the buildings and in January are shaded by the buildings most of the day. Also, they are NOT heated as advertised.

We did not use the Tennis Courts, but we did play pickle ball a few times (2 courts). There is a group that play everyday and were quick to welcome us and we enjoyed playing with them.   

Bonita Beach was right across the street, less then a 5 minute walk across the parking lot.  Very nice beach.

We spent most days in our unit as my Fiance was working, it was hard to leave the sliding door open as the noise from Bonita Beach Road was very loud.

Unit was clean when we arrived. We rented through VRBO.

We would recommend  this pace.

Nice view of the Gulf

We had a great stay in a lovely unit (#1604).  Nicely decorated and equipped - basically spotless.  Can't beat the proximity to the beach (lighted crosswalk) and a couple of enjoyable and walkable restaurants.  There is 'road noise' when out on the balcony.  Nice pools and the tennis courts were in great shape.  Definitely will stay again.

Great location for beach-lovers

toilets, showers, outdated leaking, dirty furniture with chewed food , stains under cushions.  Pans rusty, internet service is so poor.  Trash around property, brown scum on sides pool, Pool chairs disgusting filthy, the carts you carry luggage on are broken, sticky and smell.  The elevators smell like urine and full of trash. Trailer Park decorations throughtout. Felt like the senior center with those that are regular running building drunk and take over the pool area.  Dirty old men siting at pool watch every move the girls make.  parking is a joke if tennis group comes in you will walk to park your car.  this place is under new mgmt and need a complete renovation.  you will wait for elevators, the lobby is outdated 1950's looking, old folks doing puzzles, bingo.  best yet turn your light on your cell and  look at the plumbing filth, the ice maker full of mold, the small bugs in the dresser drawers, large huge roaches in some of the units.  the beach furniture is rusty, broken and dirty looking.  Beds that have huge holes in the mattress and the springs coming out.  anyone trying to get big buck for this place per night is taking advantage of you.  Best yet the owners sit and B****H about each others drama.  The place is a dump!  and sitting outside as you pull in is a pile of disgusting old filthy dirty furniture needing the dump to pick up.

Beware Very Outdated, Unkept, Senior Living Facility

We loved our condo , It had all we needed and more! The owner was amazing (Blaine) very clean, warm pools and close to everything! Beach right across the street with all kinds of water sports n rentals! Plenty of room on the beach to kick back and walk! Sun sets amazing, Dolphins jumping was fun to watch too ! Will be Going again !!
