My buddy and I went down for a college football game and were trying to conserve as much money as possible so we settled on the cheapest stay.. 

The motel has a pretty solid location, the service was great, and the manager/owner was very pleasant and helpful. The motel is certainly old, but our room was above average. The beds were very comfortable, the heating/cooling unit worked great, we had a balcony to go outside and take in the scenery. I know people have complained about this place, but if you're operating within a budget, and want to be comfortable, sleep well, and stay in a good location, this place is the ticket. I've stayed at over 10 three-star hotels across 8 states since April, and this place was one of few places that exceeded my expectations.

The staff was nice (the one person I talked to), but the place was not very nice at all. We booked it last minute and chose it as a better bargain knowing it was a 2-star. But I’ve definitely stayed in much nicer 2-star places. Our room was dirty. The comforter had a burn hole in it (I’m a non-smoking room - not that it matters). There were two holes in the wall. Definitely could not stay there again.

Dirty and would not stay there again

The owner was very nice however the rooms were horrible.  everything was filthy from the walls, doors (white doors but brown from filth), floors, showers, EVERYTHING.  We travel a lot and have stayed in alot of older hotels that were CLEAN.  we can and have overlooked a few things but this place is dirty. Dead bugs and blood on the walls, holes in the walls, even the 2nd room they moved us to was dirty.  smoke smell in non smoking rooms.  They need to find a good housekeeping and maintenance service.  
The wall outlets were filthy dirty, the phones were dirty.  broken dressers, no heat or ac wasn't working

This place gets a bad rep because of the very negative reviews. If you said it was old, you'd be correct. It is an older Motel in reasonable condition. You could find things to complain about and there could be some truth to it. But if you understand that you're staying an older Motel that's not perfect you may find that you'll enjoy your stay at this centrally located, reasonably clean and priced well below other Hotels and Suites in Boone.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, rooms are just not sanitary or comfortable. I actually heard owner tell a young mother to leave threatening with calling police. Sounded like something from some horrible movie. Do not give this place your money. it's BAD

DO NOT STAY HERE!

it's a older, but decently kept up outdoor breezeway motel.  You are getting what you pay for, but if you're up in the mountains to hike and sightsee, you don't need an extravagant room.  TV, internet, minifridge and great location make up for the dated bathroom.  Considering the price, I'll be there again

All about the price

Do not visit this motel. This place is nasty.  I've seen cleaner bathrooms at truck stops, there were dead bugs in the room, the whole non-smoking room reeked of smoke, the beds were insanely uncomfortable. and the hotel clerk refused to give his name to our Priceline customer service rep, after sharing our concerns.  The light over the sink did not work, the bathroom exhaust fan was missing, and pieces of the trim around the bathroom were missing.  Save your money. We ended up going to another hotel, because this one was so disgusting.
