Very basic, clean and neat. Good for a one night stay when passing through. The owner was very kind and acommodating when we locked ourselves out of our room by mistake at 11 pm! Surrounded by trees and on a main road that is not far from a Rite Aid and breakfast café.

Good for a one stay when traveling.

Very nice, clean and simple motel.  The manager was very nice and very helpful.  The location is good, just outside of Boothbay Harbor.  We stayed in a room in the back with two double beds and the hotel provided coffee in the morning.  We would definitely return!

Great value

This place was just right for our week stay in boothbay. The people that own are supe awesome & very helpful, it felt like we were leaving family when we left. It has an awesome railway & car museum across the road. Great food trucks down the road & Boothbay harbor is 5 minutes away. I can’t say enough good things about this place. 

Boothbay Harbor Maine

Honestly, I was looking for the cheapest place I could find near the camp at which my daughter was a summer counselor. We were picking her up. I got it with White Anchor--$92 a night all included. We were only going to be in the hotel for about six hours to sleep. This place brought back memories of the 1970s and the road trips my siblings and I took with our mother. We tried never to stay anywhere because it was costly--we tried to drive through--but when we had no choice, we stayed at motels like this on the highway. The White Anchor is a motel; you drive your car right up to your door step. It is a series of tiny cottages linked together on a piece of well cared for and manicured lawn just a few miles outside Boothbay Harbor on Route 27. The traffic is very noisy, so I assume that is an issue for the cottages in the front. We were in the back and heard nothing. The room was maybe 400 square feet and there was a bed, a chair, a couple of lamps, a dresser and a tiny flat screen TV that got all the channels. Everything was worn and what makes that not a problem was that everything was very clean and well cared for. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. There is a bar area behind the front desk where they serve coffee in Styrofoam cups in the morning. 
 

When I tried to make a reservation at first, I could not make it on line and I called. The person who answered laughed and said, thanks for calling, the internet is often an issue. Consistent with this, we could not find a wifi link in the room even though the hotel website said that wifi was available. I would lower my expectation around that.  

After we got our coffee in the morning, we opened the back door of the room and there were a group of deer standing 30 yards away eating falling apples from an apple tree. The expanse of the back yard was perfectly cared for and it was 66 degrees F., a beautiful day. There had been lots to do in Boothbay Harbor the previous evening. We really enjoyed our time in the White Anchor Inn and in Boothbay; highly recommend both.

Throw Back Thursday, Excellent Stay

We were greeted by the very knowledgeable manager who suggested options for breakfast nearby and Kayler's restaurant by the harbor for dinner.  The restaurant was excellent and the 10 minute trip to the harbor was worthwhile as the town is lively, artsy and fun.  The room was small, clean, and very fresh. It looked as though it had been updated recently.  It was basic with no fridge, but there was TV and a nice bathroom with fluffy towel.  Unfortunately, I did not sleep well in the bed.  Wi-fi was available in the common room.  The not-to-be-missed botanical garden is only a few minutes away.  We would stay there again if in the vicinity.

Friendly basic motel in great location

Nice structure, private cottages with car space in front and terrace behind where to eat breakfast. Very clean, very kind staff and ready to offer all the information. There is no boiler in the room but in a room near the reception.

It's beautiful!

The motel is very nice: the room was clean and there is a wifi connection. The price is correct and the nearby dali (at the station) is very good for breakfast (pancakes are amazing!).

It's a small motel that doesn't look extraordinary from the outside, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the reception is very warm, that's all I ask of a hotel!

Good price ratio

A very reasonable hotel! For the price, we expected something much less clean and a much less courteous service. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was functional. The main drawback of this hotel is the wifi that only works randomly. The hotel is also far from the centres of interest but the price falls by half for the same reason.
