We have stayed at the Russell House 5 times. Every year is perfect! The staff is great, the amenities are beautifully appointed and the close proximity to Boothbay Harbor and nearby Wiscasset make it all the more appealing.

Tranquil, beautiful and a great family tradition!

Our two-night stop at Russell House was pleasant enough. Without a full-time manager or innkeeper there, getting into the building was akin to a treasure hunt. We arrived after 5PM, when the manager leaves. After looking a bit we discovered a note near the back door. It directed us to a box by the front door. There we found an envelope with a key to the back door and our room keys. We were hoping that we were the only guests; but such was not the case. Others arrived shortly, with an easier time of it because myself, my husband & our friends had opened the place.

Clean and tidy was this B&B; I felt as if I had stepped into a Restoration Hardware store; all furnishings and decor had a pleasant, if characterless quality about them. That could be said for the whole B&B. The lavatory on the first floor was convenient. Large windows throughout the house brightened up all rooms.

We booked Room Two, even the rooms had no-nonsense, bland IDs. It was clean & spacious. We had two good nights sleep, and woke to use the large, clean & fresh bathroom. Our friends had Room Six; they like it too.

Breakfast was satisfactory, if not memorable. It was only at breakfast that two staff members showed up to prepare & serve the meal; each was helpful & nice. Having a full-time manager/innkeeper on premises makes a big difference to the atmosphere of a B&B. Russell House is operated as an efficient, business investment, not as a warm, welcoming inn. Sadly, the other guests kept to themselves; I cannot help but say that this could very well have been because the result of the lack of warmth at this B&B.

Pleasantly Neutral

Great experience here.  It was a rainy few days in Maine but just so glad we were in a cozy and clean, and I mean clean place.  I am super picky about cleanliness and the room was spotless.  Cozy gas fireplace in our room.  Loved the option to go to dining area to get filtered water, coffee, or wine glasses for our room.  Our room had a great mini fridge and a counter top to prepare food or drink.  One small suggestion - would've love just one chair in the bedroom to sit on.  Other than that, it was excellent!

Quaint, Clean, and Convenient

I highly recommend the Russell House for your stay in Boothbay Harbor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quaint, very clean and well supplied with needed amenities. Location is very accessible to town and the breakfasts are wonderful!! I will be back if my travels take me back to charming Boothbay Harbor.

Delightful Stay

Absolutely gorgeous B&B; room was very large and super comfortable. Breakfast was also 5 stars!! Location is great as well; innkeeper was very personable and took great pride in all that they provide.

Lovely rooms, linens- we even had a fabulous fireplace at the touch of a remote!
Best breakfast of our trip to Maine with cordial, courteous innkeeper and staff.  Location great - just a short drive to waterfront with restaurants, shopping, boat tours.

Very Special!

My husband and I  (along with two other couples) recently traveled around New England, and we spent one night at this B&B. The location was convenient, check-in was easy, and the rooms were immaculate. We enjoyed dinner at the inn’s sister property (the Pub at the Newagen Resort), and breakfast the next morning at the inn was delicious as well. The innkeepers were gracious, and they excel in customer service which really makes guests feel welcome. We would all highly recommend this property for a visit!

Beautiful Boothbay Harbor Bed and Breakfast!

They didn’t honor reservation. I prepaid. They claimed it was a double booking but continues to advertise room 2 days later. Bookings and I both reached out but no response. Certainly they aren’t concerned with customer service. Place is on Expedia and Booking.com

Unresponsive

Location was great. Close to shops and restaurants. Very clean! Beautifully decorated. Happened to be in a wheelchair accessible room and had loads of room. Food was good but then again I am not much of a breakfast person. Would stay again for sure.

Beautiful B&B

Excellent stay.  Exactly what you hope for in a bed and breakfast.  Very nice grounds, and the house itself was beautiful and clearly updated.  Large modern bathroom and very comfortable bed.  Our breakfasts were large and delicious.  The innkeeper was very pleasant and professional.  I would definitely stay there again and heartily recommend
