Great place to spend the night.  Owners have done a nice job decorating with a vintage vibe.  There is a room to get coffee in the morning.  Barnes Park is a mile or so around the corner which has a beach to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan or go for a walk.  Bring your own ice

Clean and cute rooms!

Hard to know where to start with this one...after months of searching for just the right place to stay throughout N/NW Michigan, we finally picked a location central to all the things we wanted to explore, and the TORCH BAY INN was such a happy discovery. Sandwiched between the north tip of Torch Lake and Grand Traverse Bay, the location is out-of-the-fray, but a great restaurant (Torch Lake Cafe) just across the street, Eastport Market store just down the road, and BARNES PARK and campground just steps out the door to hiking/walking trails and an expansive beach access point with incredible sunsets! You are hosted at Torch Bay Inn by Cindy and Kirk, who have an eye for detail in the eight rooms and 6 (newer) cabins. We were fortunate to have a cabin, with kitchen and everything so very neat and clean. There is a charming coffee room where you can get morning coffee/snack, etc. and meet other guests, along with a firepit patio for evening conversation and swapping area discoveries. We cannot wait to go back and will have no desire to stay any place else!

The owner was pleasant and informative from our first meeting.  Told me about 7:00am coffee and donuts in the coffee room about the back patio and firepit as well as the ice machine.
The decorations and use of repurposed items like pipes to hang your cloths added to the loveliness of the property.
The room was spotless and comfortable.

"Adorably Charming"

Cindy was wonderful and went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. The rooms are updated and clean. You are less than a mile from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan. The Nature trail with hiking trails is right down the street. I really enjoyed the fire pit and meeting new people I just wish the rooms had a mini fridge.

Cozy and clean !

For the price of the regular rooms they are extremely small.  Absolutely no room to move around.  We were able to upgrade to a cottage which had a King bed, couch, TV, sink, kitchen table and of course more room.  Though I honestly wish I had found a cheaper option overall.

Regular rooms are tiny

My wife and I stopped here for a night while on a color tour by chance and what a pleasant surprise. very clean and well maintained, very nice rooms and friendly staff, We will defiantly be stopping here again!

Very nice place!

Wonderful service.  The room was quaint and welcoming.  We used the gas fire pit behind the motel.  A very relaxing evening.  There is a nice restaurant within walking distance.  The traffic noise was tolerable.  Coffee is made every morning and the common area is clean and well put together. We will stop again.  

Color tour. 

My wife and I booked one of the motel rooms here, but when we arrived we found they also have cottages (6). We decided we wanted a little more room and so were able to change our booking to cottage #5. It is a beautiful cottage with a king bed, sofa, kitchen area and jacuzzi tub. 

The cottage is very well maintained. 

Cindy was very accommodating and was there for all our needs, she's a great hostess. Everything is clean and modern.

Awesome Motel and Cottages

My husband and I stayed for one night. We booked here for location and based on the few reviews we found. We are so happy with this decision. Price is great, owners very friendly, property is quaint along with coffee room and room itself. Bathroom was redone and room was very clean. We will definitely stay here again. 

Adorable 

From the time we booked our reservation to the time we left I couldn't be happier.  The owner is so friendly and helpful.  It's very obviously she takes great pride in this place.  It's very "homey" with little extra finishing touches everywhere.  The extra parking for boats was such a relief.  Perfect location 1/2 from boat launch, restaurant across the street, and close to just about everything.  We will definitely be staying here again!
