Beautiful and peaceful place for a getaway with family and friends. Rooms were spacious and clean, and we loved use of the hospitality room and refrigerator. Ice freezer and fire wood were always well stocked. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful place!

A most amazing venue; beautiful property, very well maintained includes a pool, pavilion and lake with beach and fire pit. Tennis and Pickle ball court in park like setting. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Perfect for couples, families or groups. Amenities include a community kitchen with all necessities.  The nearby town of Gaylord has a grocery store and variety of restaurants and candy / ice cream stores, and,  Starbucks!  A perfect place for playing, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful countryside. You won’t be disappointed. 

Beautiful Sojourn Lakeside Resory

Our large family of 45+ people have stayed at several places along the west coast of Michigan since 1996. We’ve searched high and low for a place that we can have all to ourselves. This place has 2 gathering places to eat, a kitchen to cook for our large group with plenty of storage. It also has a large beach, pool, a bonfire pit ,a bar😉with endless amounts of ice and so much more. Sojourn Lakeside Resort is a clean, very well maintained  beautifully landscaped place to spend with a very large group. Wether it’s a reunion or a wedding, this place can accommodate you. I tell everyone I know about Sojourn because  It’s the best place in Michigan with enough space to make everyone happy. 

Best Family Reunion Place in Michigan!

A little piece of heaven! Beautiful grounds, clean rooms, and so much space! Highly recommend for a family reunion or wedding!  The hospitality room and sand bar with restrooms made it extra convenient. Love the upgrade to the kitchen. We have found the perfect place for our annual family trip with a little something for everyone!!

Perfect Family Vacation Spot and Perfect Wedding Venue

My son and daughter in law had their wedding at Sojourn Lakeside Resort (Sept 2022). It was absolutely magical. Joy and Rob did an outstanding job with all of the details. Our guests were stunned at how beautiful the grounds and venue were. Every picture is like a postcard. The rooms were very nice also. It was truly a wedding to remember! I highly recommend Sojourn for anyone who is looking for a beautiful destination wedding in Northern Michigan.

Perfect Wedding Weekend Celebration at Sojourn!!!

Our family stayed at Sojourn for four days in celebration of my brother’s wedding. The resort was like something out of a fairytale. It was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed lakeside breakfasts, swimming, fishing and relaxing on the beach, lakeside fires and beautiful sunsets ended our days. The staff are amazing and Joy is an absolute delight to work with. The wedding was perfect, the venue was perfect and I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We also had our kids with us and they had the time of their lives swimming and fishing and running all around exploring. It’s a safe and family friendly atmosphere where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves.

The BEST venue ever!!!

Individuals in our group came from as far west as California and everyone felt that Sojourn was a great place for people to gather.  We rented the entire grounds and it was nice to have only friends and family on site from Thursday-Sunday. it is a great place to mingle or take some time by yourself.  The grounds are beautiful with attractive gardens, peaceful areas, pool, lake, kayaking and areas for games and fun times. The age of our guests was 5 months to 95 and it was accessible for everyone.  The resort was very clean and professionally operated.  I would definitely give it an excellent rating.  It would be a great place for a reunion or business gathering also.

Sojourn vacation with family and friends

The Sojourn Lakeside Resort is literally the *perfect* spot for a family reunion!  My husband's family has been having reunions every 2 years for over 3 decades.  This location suited our needs perfectly!  We had a group of 22 adults and 27 kids.  The adults had plenty of places to relax or find a tranquil moment away, while the kids had a blast going from beach volleyball, to jumping off the dock into the lake, to playing in the pool, to playing on the sports field ... they never lacked entertainment! Joy was a delight to work with, always answering my millions of questions in a timely manner.  It was so nice to have the whole resort to ourselves--no worries that our rowdy kids would disturb any unrelated person's vacation.  The grounds are stunningly beautiful, the rooms are immaculately clean, comfortable and everything you need is provided.  Highly, highly recommend!

Perfect Family Reunion Venue

We had a wonderful experience at Sojourn. We are locals and love Dickson Lake. We have been to this resort several times and decided to use it for one of our events. We used the facilities for our anniversary party. Joy was awesome and very accommodating for our event! They worked amazing with local caterers. I cannot say enough good things about our venue and Joy!
