The most horrible experience with their staff. The room was good, no complaints there. I had issues with their WiFi. They needed to reboot the system the first night. on the 4th night, I had issues again. They told me they would move me to another room in the morning. After moving, I experienced the same problem. It would show connected, but not available. When I complained, they threw me out. I am half deaf in one ear, so I speak loud. I explained that to them, and they still told me to leave. I would never mention this place to anybody!

Staff need to be replaced!

Very nice clean respectful motel. Right by highway and also very peaceful.  if you had to pick somewhere to stay you should stay at the American inn it is very very nice clean nice fluffy towels great channels great Wi-Fi nice view close stores nearby bus close by a lot of gas stations close by

I have stayed here pretty much once or twice a week for work for the past year.  The motel is clean and in a safe area with grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries nearby.  It is close to my office and close to the highway (if I need to go to New Haven).   The motel is run by a friendly young man/family who make an effort to improve the space and to respond to requests.  The room is spacious with a desk, chair, and internet.  There is also a dorm-sized refrigerator and microwave in the room if you want to eat in the room or store your food.   I also like to park in front of my room which makes it easy to unload/load luggage.  I have tried other places in the area but find that this is the best location and highly recommend colleagues/others to stay here.

Nice place to rest and quick to highway

American inn located in branford ct leetes island rd had to be the most generous hotel we stayed at !  Family owned and the hospitality was exquisite!  Clean rooms , Owner is always there if you need anything. Suggested hotel for branford ct for sure!

Best Hotel in Branford ct

Why did I give this place 5 stars?  Not just because it was a clean, comfortable, large room with a comfortable bed, but because the owner and his son were so nice, caring and helpful that I felt lucky to be there.  I was on my way from NJ to MA when my check engine light came on and I had to stay overnight in CT while I tried to get my van repaired.  It was a Friday night and the owner suggested some vehicle repair places I could call in the morning and also said he would call the people he knew there.  He then remembered he wouldn't be there in the morning and gave his son instructions to help me out first thing when the shops opened. The next morning while I was on the phone with Meineke his son called Honda.  He even said to keep in touch and he would try to hold a room for me for Saturday night in case I couldn't get it repaired.  That was so nice!  Their compassion made it feel like it was a luxury experience!  If I'm ever in Branford again this is the only place I will stay!  

Clean, comfortable and VERY NICE owners!

Stayed for two nights at this facility. Was greeted by Raj at the check-in desk. Very courteous and accommodating. The room was immaculately clean in the king size bed very comfortable. I would highly recommend this facility to travelers

Great stay

Typically I am not a fan of any motel / inn. I am more of a chain hotel girl but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.  We were in town for a nearby event and a one night stay.  The room was clean, the staff polite, and clearly had a nearly full parking lot for a reason.

This is really a great place to stay.   I've been here working for a week and I've been nothing but pleased.  Clean rooms and close to a great seafood restaurant..   Raj and his family are great.  Extremely helpful...10 out of 10

Stayed one night for a little shoreline getaway. It had everything you needed and nothing more. Room was a good size, a/c worked great, everything was very clean. Bed was comfortable but 3 small pillows for the king bed. Standard TV with reasonable amount to watch, fridge and microwave were nice and clean. Shower/bathroom was great. Quiet enough but there was a little road noise heard from our room, but not enough to keep you awake. Places to eat close by. Staff was very nice. Overall a good value. 
I recommend this motel for a good place to sleep or as home base for shoreline adventures.

Clean, comfortable and well priced.

The American Inn is small, friendly, clean and comfortable, with a range of good-sized rooms, equipped with the usual TV, small refrigerator and microwave. The Wi-Fi system is reliable and had no problems. The beds are great, the linen and towels are changed daily or on request and each room has a table and chair for work plus extra space for parking excess baggage. The bathrooms are basic but everything works well and there is plenty of hot water, with good water pressure in the shower and sizeable tubs as well. In-room heat and A/C is quiet and easily controlled. Irons and an ironing board are available in every room. Management is friendly, attentive and can handle all requests. 

The location is terrific; just off Leetes Island Road (exit 56) on Rt. 95, across the street from a diner and shopping center, walking distance to the local Dunkin and the U.S.S. Chowder Pot III, a seafood restaurant with a lot of character and pretty good food. My wife and I stayed here for several weeks looking to buy a house in the greater Branford area and we'd do it again in a minute. A terrific value!
