My friend and I were traveling through and decided to stop in Brenham for the night.  It definitely shows its age but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.  The rate was good!  The front desk staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent.  We grabbed a few things and headed out the door.

Serves the Purpose

Had to stop over for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. WiFi signal was no good so we had to use our own. Otherwise everything else was very good! Also, we didn’t eat the breakfast there so can’t review that.

Great stop over in Brenham!

Their were five of us staying in one room and we had plenty of room!!  We were there to go antiquing at Warrenton/Round Top in the spring of this year!  And breakfast was also good!!!  We will go back in the fall!!

Girls weekend!!

The front  deck employee was very friendly and extremely helpful.  Made several recommendations for things to do in the area.  Only issue was toilet kept running all night and light over the desk in the room was burnt out.

Nice Hotel

The desk staff was friendly and the bag of breakfast was better than most hotels.  The hotel lobby, halls, and room weren’t very clean. The commode in our room ran continuously and was stained.  The bathtub didn’t drain well.  The air conditioner in our room was terrible.  The swimming pool was not heated and the pool room was cold.  

Disappointed 

The room itself wasn't bad, but the bathroom was another story. Caulking around the tub was messy, dirty, missing. It was so bad that I wouldn't shower there. There's really no excuse for such a disgusting tub in a rom that went for $150 a night. The tub surround looked as if it hadn't been cleaned. The caulk around the toilet was discolored/dirty. Although beds were made while we were out, trash wasn't emptied. Breakfast was unappealing watery eggs and a few less than appetizing other items. I would not recommend staying here.

Not recommended 

Couldn't understand why so many hotels were sold out so booked this hotel as all I could get. Turned out to be some big antique event going on & Comfort Suites jacked the rate way up. Hotel is ugly square box with steep driveway I bottomed out the car on. Paper thin walls could hear normal conversation, a cough next door & normal volume TV. I had to wear earplugs both nights. Staff friendly enough not exceptional. Hot breakfast. Grocery store next door was convenient. Toilet leaked, not fixed when advised. Bathtub slow to drain was fixed when advised.

Pros: our room was large and breakfast was ok
Cons: Jacked up price due to local event - very expensive; some of the hotel was shabby (carpet on stairs), staff ok but not overly friendly, walls are paper thin so you can hear normal conversations of your neighbors - highly annoying, toilet was running and nobody fixed it; bathtub drain slow, which they did fix. The driveway into the hotel is very steep so if you have a low clearance bumper, you have to be super careful not to smash it.

Well, maybe 2 1/2........

Not up to the usual standards of the Choice Privileges properties. Hotel is undergoing some remodeling, but the construction crews left at the end of their workday, leaving the lobby and hallways full of dust and debris.

Room was comfortable, but bathroom was in need of a facelift. Lots of caulking (poorly done) to fix sink and shower/tub.

High marks for location. Located just north of U.S. 290.

Needs Attention

Do not stay here. Do youself a favor now and look elsewhere. We reserved three nights visiting family in a close town and we checked out the next morning. The first sign should have been that the back door into hotel is not locked, anyone can walk in. When we made it to the room, we were immediately hit with an overwhelming moldy, musty smell.  The mini fridge leaked and was gross. I told the front desk and the young lady said she was aware that someone had told her before our stay. She said the fridges defrost every night and will leak as a result. We had just drove over ten hours so we decided to just go to sleep and take showers in the morning. The bed was not very comfortable but we were tired and tried to sleep inspite of the muggy air temperature and moldy smells and the gross stains on the bed spread (see pictures). Our room needed a major dusting, too. The next morning I went to take a shower and discovered a disgusting shower head. I spoke to the front desk and was told it was just chemical/mineral build up and should be fine. I was also told that it's normal to see this type of gunk on faucets and shower heads in Brenham. I was offered to see another room and it had the same gunk on the shower head. However, that room smelled better than ours. The breakfast seemed decent but we checked out before having breakfast. There was another guest leaving and packing up as we were packing up our vehicle. I asked how his stay was and he said, "we had to switch rooms two nights in a row and decided to check out early because of the terrible status of the rooms."  I do not recommend wasting your time and money on this hotel, at least under this type of management and room conditions. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! We went to the Coach Light Inn and we're extremely happy with the room. It smelled great, was nice and clean, they had a larger mini fridge that worked and the shower was amazing!
