I have stayed at the Bridgehampton Inn the past 2 summers. The first time we were there during the summer of 2022 and we stayed in the old building for a long weekend. My first issue with it is that there is no coffee in the room available. While the Inn provides breakfast, there is no coffee station, so the only way to get coffee is to sit down for breakfast. My husband and I do not always eat breakfast, so sometime we just went down and asked for coffee and it was as if we were asking for something crazy – the staff made such a big production to bring us 2 cups of coffee! Plus, we could hear everything from the kitchen as our room was above it – so we could hear the breakfast set-up and the post dinner clean up. So when we left, the Inn Keeper advised us to try the newer building for our next stay, since it would not be loud with street traffic (since some rooms are right on the main road 27) nor above the kitchen and bar. So this past year, I booked a week in the new building that the Inn Keeper said would not be noisy. I corresponded via email about the room months in advance. When we arrived, she said someone  at the Inn made a mistake and had given away our room.  Thus, we were given a room in the old building that is right on the main street - even louder than last time. And there was no apology from her, she was just rude. She said she could eventually move us after someone checked out a couple days later. Then I also checked to see if she received my email that we needed to depart one night earlier. Again, she was very rude and said there policy has a strict cancellation. I thought she would say something along the lines of we will let one night go this time since you are here for 6 nights and also we (the Inn) also messed up. But she did not, and was very rude. We will never go back!

Nice ambiance in a small house located near Bridgehampton town. The food was very tasty, we had the steak and shoshito pepers.

The steak was tasty, and prepared the right way.

The service was good, our server was attentive. This was very expensive thought.

Enjoyable dining experience

They need a good chef. The food was poor. We ordered a pasta dish with seafood that was barely edible, with a bad tasting thick gravy. The duck dish was ok, but barley enough to eat, two small slices of duck with a mediocre sauce. The mashed potatoes were a tasteless mush. The corn chowder had nice pieces of corn in it but the soup itself was just fair. The prices are high, which is to be expected but not for the quality we experienced. The bread, which is $12 extra, was the best thing we ate, it was delicious. It's a pretty place to sit, with nice service and a lovely outdoor area. I would love to go back if they improved the food. As of now, sad to say, no plans to ever return.

Ten years of culinary trekking in the Hamptons dictate the winner: Unmatched ambience, food quality and service (a 'maitre d' who's a savvy manager). It's a local favorite for escaping the pretentions, marginal food quality and shoddy service of its competition. Chefs who prepare, not just cook; an ambience disarmingly friendly yet respectful; and indoor/outdoor settings that funnel attention to the table and what's on it and who're around it. Price? Prix, bien sûr: vous êtes dans l'ombre des réfugiés de la ville!

* Pleasant friendly staff
* Rooms were very clean
* Bed and linens were 5star
* Atmosphere, food,drinks  at the restaurant were spectacular 
* Parking on site
*fresh chilled water and chocolates in the room upon arrival 
Cons or easy fix
* no coffee/tea pot in the room ( no access to hot tea before bed or if an early riser )
* No control off the air conditioner- I lost two nights of sleep because it was a hot box. During the day it was cool but at night the air is controlled from somewhere else in the inn- this is a major flaw
* No afternoon/wine hour. Most inns provide this. Even if they left some cookies/fruit out that would be nice.
* It’s the summer, so I expected a little more energy vibe but mon & tues  it was dead. If the restaurant is closed, they should at least have the bar open. 
* It rained 1.5 days I was there and one night we decided to stay in. For the price of the room - it should have a TV bigger than a 13/20 inch.

This review is for the restaurant, not the hotel:

This restaurant--especially their outdoor garden--would have been perfect but for the chef's dislike of having bread on the menu. (We order corn bread, but it was less tasty than a supermarket-bought kind.)
Otherwise good service, good food, and great atmosphere.

A great restaurant--but no bread....

We have stayed at the Inn several times. Breakfast is wonderful and Cerene is the best! We always feel welcome. The beds are just lovely. We ate at the Inn on our last visit. It was nice to get a reduction for house guests. We ate in the breezeway as it was raining. Nice heaters made it comfortable. The food is Hamptons prices but it is very creative and well served. This is even a better place living with covid. We felt safe and happy.

Warm and comfortable

Expensive even by Hamptons standards. The owner’s son is the bartender and master mixologist. The outdoor setting was beautiful. Been several times and the food is excellent.  Music on Friday nights is a notable plus in the summer.

Great setting, food and wine

My husband and I visited the Bridgehampton Inn this summer! We had the most perfect visit.The staff at the Inn make you feel like family when you are there! Cerene, the Innkeeper,is amazing! She always has a smile and a kind word for everyone! Nothing is too much for her! Kyle,Glen,Dawn, Elana and John make the Bridgehampton Inn the nicest spot to dine in the Hamptons!

Summer 2020

The atmosphere of the place is old-world charm. We were there on a rainy Fall night, and the lit fireplaces cast lovely warmth, making the inn looking like a New England farm house.
The problem is the chef's tyranny. The menu was very limited--only a few items listed in either appetizers or main course (plus a couple of "middle-size" plates.) But not only one cannot get substitutes, the chef would not eliminate something that we didn't want!
One fish dish came with noodles. Due to dietary requirements, we asked that it not be served with the noodles, but were told that the chef won't do it!
Then came the clincher: A message posted on the menu says to alert the server to any allergies. Since I am highly allergic to hot spices, I told the server. Yet, the meatballs on my dish were splattered with hot sauce. I asked to replace them with others with no sauce, but even the manager who came to the table said that the chef would not agree.  
They took it off the final bill, but there was nothing else I could order. I left after only eating one appetizer--never to return.
I would have given the restaurant one star, because what is a restaurant where there is no food to eat? I'm adding a star for the loveliness of the place.
