We stayed here one night so we could clean our cabinet the next day.  A major transformation since Holiday Inn too over, but still a lovely rustic feel with a great view of the lake. What impressed us most was the care the staff was taking about COVID, wearing masks, gloves, cleaning, all precautions being taken.

Rustic feel, great location super staff and very COVID safe

We were in town for a youth hockey tournament. The hotel has a nice, rustic feel. Very clean, comfortable beds, large rooms, breakfast buffet, large pool and huge lobby. I wish we could have taken advantage of going outside and hanging out, but it’s March and there is still snow on the ground. I can’t say enough about how welcoming and accommodating the staff has been, particularly Tim. We checked in late Friday night after a long drive, and Tim warmly welcomed us. Tim went above and beyond by helping us organize a team dinner, calling in our order, having it delivered when our late game was over, and letting us use the banquet room. Tim also coordinated getting our entire team late check outs. Having stayed at many a hotel for youth hockey tournaments, never have I experienced such kind, accommodating service. We would definitely come back, whether it was for fun as a family or for another team weekend.

Excellent hotel with excellent service

My husband was in Hayward for business overnight and I decided to stay with him along with our dog. We’ve stayed here several times in the past when it was Comfort Inn Suites and was concerned it might not be the same with a different name but it is actually better. They remodeled the breakfast area and the lobby and it is beautiful. The rooms are quiet during the week...can’t comment on weekends. We had a king room with a patio which was great for taking our fur baby outside. Bed was comfy. The only small complaint was the carpet could’ve been vacuumed better. Our dog found numerous bits under the desk and around the sofa. As a former housekeeper, it’s very important to go the extra mile and make sure every inch is vacuumed...that was one of my jobs. Otherwise the room was clean. Great view of Lake Hayward also. I recommend a lake view room. Plus there’s a paved walking trail right from the parking lot. Very nice for walking our dog. Highly recommend. 

Different name, still a great place to stay

We ended up here because of having to leave another place that was a dump.  We are glad we did end up here.  It is beautiful from the minute you pull up.  You are greeted by very nice people at the counter.  The lobby is big & beautiful.  There is an area just off the lobby for a full hot free breakfast.  Inviting fireplace.  View of Hayward Lake.  

Because there were a couple festivals in the area we ended up having to pay quite a bit for the room.  It was $219/night which we felt was a bit much.  We've paid that in the Caribbean for a beachfront penthouse condo before so thought that was a little out of line.  I'm guessing during regular days their prices are not this high.  

The rooms are decent sized.  Well, except the bathroom.  They apparently needed to save some room & this is where they decided to skimp.  You could barely get the door shut while in there.  If you have the shower mat on the floor the door hits it & you can't open or close it.  if the bathrooms were bigger I would have given this a 5-star.  

The rooms were clean & their is a mini-fridge, safe & iron/ironing board.  
They also have a nice thing in the bathroom that has shampoo / conditioner / body soap.  I will attach a photo of it.  
We also had a nice view of Hayward Lake out our window.  

The best part is the beds.  They are SO comfy & the comforters & pillows are great.  If they had them for sale we would have bought some.  

The free hot breakfast was good.  Lots to choose from including some apples & banana's you could grab for on the go.  A very cool machine to make your own pancakes.  

When we are back in the Hayward area we will for sure book here again.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE - VERY COMFY BEDS

We came to Hayward to revisit the area where I spent time growing up.  This Holiday Inn is beautiful; most like a lodge rather than a hotel.  The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was pretty good.  Our room was very clean.  We had a room that looked out onto the lake with a sliding door and I would recommend this room to anyone staying there. The grounds are well groomed and there are areas to walk. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms and had a jet tub.  The sink was outside the shower and toilet which I like.  We tried to stay an extra night, but they were booked.  I would recommend this to anyone.  I did not see anything this nice in any of the other small towns in the area.

I want to stay here again!

Friendly reception.  I've never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express that looked anything like this.  The grounds are stunning and so peaceful. It backs up to a bay and they have a playground area for the children.  Hotel sits back from the street so it's quiet.  The room was vary clean with hot water on demand.  Beds were good and lighting was good.  The only draw back was the bathroom toilet/tub area.  It was so cramped that you had to stand in the corner of the toilet in order to close the door.  Some rooms had balcony or patios attached.

Beautiful Grounds

We were very pleased with our stay here.  The place has more ambiance than most Holiday Inn Express hotels. (I think it was just purchased from Comfort Inns a few months ago).  The place looks quite fresh with a Northwoods feel in the décor and a lovely breakfast room and commons area as well as outdoor seating.  There are Adirondack chairs down by the lake.  We got a second floor suite with a little patio and really enjoyed it.  The patio looked out on the lake and there were again Adirondack chairs  but they were raised up above the railing so you could see the lake very well.  I usually don't like high chairs, but these were just fine.  We enjoyed reading and relaxing out there. The room was comfortable and clean with friendly front desk personnel as well.  We plan to come back!

A great spot to stay

Nice clean friendly hotel with a great setting on Hayward Lake.  Large rooms, adequate breakfast with hot/cold items and a guest laundry.  Great shared area for games and movies.   King suite offered a comfy couch and one large swivel tv. Good value.

Beautiful setting

If you want a hotel that gives a vibe of staying at the cabin this is your hotel.  Nice outdoor seating with lake view.  Large indoor pool with a very hot hot tub.  Associates at the front desk are very friendly and helpful.  And, the turkey sausage with sausage gravy on the continental breakfast is fantastic and a little on the spicy side.  Glad we found this place.

Nice rooms, beautiful lake. Peaceful, serene. Rooms were clean and bed was super comfy. Friendly staff. Pool was being worked on, so they gave us an upgrade on our room....now that is how I like to be treated !
