Paradise

We have gone to Paradise twice since the Camp Fire in November 2018. We have gone in a effort to spend money there to help surviving businesses stay viable while trying to rebuild the city. We ate lunch at Starbucks across the street from the Lantern Motel and gazed at the fire ravaged remains of the property. Pictures show this as a quaint motel. Reviews show it as past it's prime. I do not know if there are ANY motels or accommodations available in Paradise as of June 2019, but if there are, we would go stay there. There is a museum open, and a few other businesses. Most buildings are destroyed, but not all.

Lantern Motel Is Destroyed

Centrally located in Paradise and somewhat off the main road the Lantern  Motel is quiet. It is also located near a couple of restaurants, with good food at reasonable prices.  overall the rooms clean, however the internet connectivity is almost non-existent, so if you want to be connected this place may not severe you well.

OK budget hotel

Positive (to be fair): the television worked and the bed was fine. There is free parking - one space numbered in front of each room.
Negative: many things did not work, the room is very run-down, the management has an unhelpful attitude, things were very worn and doors did not fit well so were hard to close, including the shower door and front door, wifi is difficult to get connected, not the best smell.
If you can find another room anywhere else, I would suggest you do so.

Never Again

We went here to check out the community and all the other motels were booked. They placed us right next a monthly renter who was building something until bout 1030 at night. Mattress was stained terribly and the bed was a rock that squeaked. I believe this was the worst motel stay ever. Sleep in your car. Don't stay here. Dirty room, noisy neighbors all the fixings of a terrible night here. Pay the extra money for another motel somewhere else or you will be Sorry. Um did I say stay away. Well stay away. 

Disgusting place to stay. Better to sleep in your car its alot cleaner and quieter 

Stayed for almost a week and it was the perfect little spot to stay. Relaxing and clean. Reasonably priced. Owner was accommodating and understanding. Our flight was delayed and we got in very early in the morning and she answered right away and helped get us in our room as quick as possible. Also some motels have horrible air conditioners that barely cook the room and the ones here were awesome! I froze my mom out (: 

Nice and clean

The hotel changed ownership 3 years ago. The hotel is now extremely dirty. The rooms are never cleaned. The towels are stained (make-up among others), the pool is so impractical it's dirty. The bedroom carpet is wet and moist. Breakfast is not included (just a few granola bars to the toilet)
