Such a fantastic way to have a new experience for myself and four young adult children vacationing in Sonoma County. We went for the mud bath which was fantastic but also loved enjoying the pool and hot tubs fed by natural springs, the relaxation room (complete with cucumbers over our eyes), and having the chance to shower and blow dry after. Our attendant, Carly, was sweet as can be and we enjoyed her greatly.

Great family experience — pool, mud, bathe, nap!

The front staff were exceptional and super accommodating.  The rooms were perfect for our family of 4. There was plenty of space to spread out and with two separate sleeping areas, we all slept comfortably!   We all really enjoyed the hot springs pools as well.  Great stay!

perfect post-holiday family get away

Very accommodating with nice rooms and close to everything. The in room soaking tub, refrigerator, microwave, and snacks worked well for a tired traveler. Parking at your door, bikes and other things to do helped a lot. A place I’ve frequented for more than 20 years.

Mud bath , mineral bath, blanket wrap, and massage give tired muscles and stress relief.

This is not a fancy luxury spa, but what it does, it does very well. At first appearance, it seems like an outdated motor hotel, but the room was very clean, very comfortable, spacious, with a king size bed, refrigerator, and microwave. The shower is refreshing, with water from the hot spring. However, if you're just coming for a good night's rest, there are probably better options. Where Golden Haven really shines is with its spa offerings. A semi-covered full length heated swimming pool with two hot tubs of progressively got temperatures all feature the hot spring mineral water. It's delightful, even on a cold, rainy winter day (or evening). The pool area is open from 8am to 10pm and is well maintained. Towels provided. So now for the best part: the mud baths and massage options are well worth the money, and if you can manage to stay overnight instead of just booking a day pass, it's amazing to just be able to walk from your room to the facilities in a hotel provided robe and flip flops. Not shi shi, but the staff is laid back and professional. Highly recommended 

Don't judge a book by it's cover: Looks cheesy, but totally worth it

The Mineral waters are Wonderful!    The hot spa is a nice hot 102-104 degrees.  After soaking for 10 minutes or so, you are ready to cool down in the wonderful pool- a perfect 88 degrees for doing laps even in the winter.  The other spa is very relaxing at 98-100 degrees.  The spas and pool are all next to each other for easy switching from one to the other.  The king rooms on the ground floor feel spacious with the vaulted ceiling and are close walking distance to the spas.  We booked a 2 bedroom with an attached private queen bed room that was perfect for 3 of us.  Staff are very friendly. Parking is very convenient.   My husband and I love to come here to celebrate our Birthdays.  It's a short distance to drive to downtown with many good restaurants.

Love the mineral pool and spas!

For as much as you pay for this place you should have softer and better towels.  After the treatments it felt like drying yourself with rags. The spa is great and tucked away from the city noise and worth the price but those freakin sandpaper towels got to go.

What's up with the towels?

We needed a short get away spot to just go get pampered. Golden Haven did not disappoint. The lodging was amazing as each room was in a cottage type of layout. What a great change from a hotel or the typical hotel like rooms. So quaint and special. The pool area had a heated mineral water based 90 degrees with your choice of two spa tubs at different temperatures. Open 8AM - 10PM every night. The pool area had full showers and powder room. If that was not enough there was a fire pit with chess table outside. Just fabulous. 

Now for the spa treatment. Oh my, what a great relaxing experience. We did the mud bath for the first time and it was amazing. First time and will not be the last. We followed that with a nice sweedish  massage.  We will be back. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Experience

The spa was cozy and quaint.  It was just outside the Calistoga town area in a very quiet neighborhood.  The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable.  We also had a couples mud bath and it was outstanding.  We had a great time

I almost hate to write this review- as this place is absolutely wonderful- like walking back in time to the days when a great place and service were the norm.
I saw some of the one star reviews- believe me this place is absolutely awesome- led by manager Alicia.
The massage was great the mud bath was great the room was great and Alicia is a Rock Star!

This place is Absolutely Awesome

What an amazing spot for a getaway! We stayed here for three nights in October, and also took advantage of the spa - we had a mud bath and couples massage. The hotel staff were so helpful and accommodating! We had the king room with spa tub and it was absolutely incredible. The bed was huge and the linens were really soft. We made great use of the spa tub and it was so relaxing. Our spa treatments were incredible. There are three pools on the property as well - a standard swimming pool, a warm tub and a hot tub (both with jets). Parking is available right outside your room. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but is walkable to restaurants and other Calistoga attractions. I would absolutely stay here again if I were back in the area!
