I've stayed in AirbNb's, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts and so on, all over the country-- and this, is the brightest gem yet. Whether you are looking to leaf peep the beautiful New England foliage, kayak the rivers, or play in the snow-- this place is the perfect place to stay at. Owners Dan & Bill are the sweetest people ever, kind, attentive, and passionate about making their cottages feel like home (but wayyy better)! Each little cottage has its own character, and each is cleaned impeccably. You will have all the things you need to have a wonderful time, don't worry they have remembered every detail! Its quiet, and charming here, in the summer there is even a pool to take dip, and they provide firewood to have a warm, cozy fireplace. I promise if you stay here, you will be very happy you did. What are you waiting for-- book it already! Five stars all the way!!!

Mini escape

During a time of increased awareness about cleanliness and health, not surprisingly, Valley Brook Cottages ramped up its efforts for visitors upon its re-opening in June. Knowing from many past experiences of spotless, comfortable and well-appointed cabins, we decided to make VBC our first vacation sojourn after many months of simply staying at home. But even knowing the attention to detail and pristine condition of the facility, expectations were exceeded once again. Everything was sanitized, from our Adirondack lounge chairs to the pool furniture and there were containers of hand sanitizer and Lysol spray nearly everywhere on property. Dan, Bill and the staff were-as always- prompt, cordial and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a long awaited getaway, Valley Brook Cottages is that destination in the scenic White Mountains.

Valley Brook Cottages-Better Than Ever

This was our second time staying here and will not be our last.  Everything is so well maintained.  Very reasonably priced.  Located close to the lovely towns of Woodstock and Lincoln.  Pet friendly.  Can’t recommend enough.

Our go to place in the mountains 

The cabin was clean and the property was quiet in the winter. We had the cabin with one bed and pull out couch. The bed and the pull out couch were both comfortable and the electric fireplace was a nice touch. Also, it is nice to have the chairs outside and the fire pit. The cabin has a stove and fridge which was nice. We were able to do some cooking and save a few bucks. You are between exit 29 and 30 so if you are going to Waterville or Loon it is a good location. Also, for the snowmobilers there are trails literally across the street. There is a nice view of the mountains and there is a pool if you visit in the summer. The cabins are pretty small but are good for a couple or a few people. I will stay here again if I am in the area.

The cottage was clean, quiet and cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen.
Great communication with the hosts before we arrived (e-mail and phone) as very good check in experience. We definitely recommend.

Great Cottages

My wife and I stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary weekend up in the White Mountains. After we got settled in on our first evening and I woke up the next day, I immediately loved how close we were to the main areas of the Whites, yet we felt a world away in Thornton. There was a great view of the mountains right across the street, with a car or two passing by every so often, but for the most part the area was peaceful and serene.

We stayed in cabin #1 which was everything we hoped it would be–small, cozy, warm, and welcoming. The faux fireplace heater in the living room/kitchen kept that room very toasty, as did the baseboard heater in the bedroom. Even with me, my wife, and our 60 lb. dog in the small cabin, we never felt cramped.

The kitchen area had a mini fridge that was just the right size to hold a few days worth of food, and the electric burner on the counter worked just fine for us to cook spaghetti and tacos on for dinners. The amenities were just enough to make us feel right at home.

The view of the stars at night from outside was simply stunning. As we watched them come out on our last night in front of a big fire, we were blown away. It was as peaceful and wonderful as a trip to the mountains can get.

I highly recommend these cottages to anyway traveling to the Whites. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful Stay for Fall Anniversary Weekend

Our annual autumn leaf peeping excursion may have been short on colorful foliage, but as always the accommodations at the Valley Brook Cottages were top notch. Owner Dan Reis and his friendly, helpful staff do their best to make lodgings and amenities just right. Comfy beds, nicely decorated rooms, everything you need... and the gorgeous view of the mountains besides. Simply great every time.

Another Great Weekend at Valley Brook Cottages

The cabins were really nice.  The setting is beautiful.  The kitchen is well appointed.  The bed was not comfortable in cabin #7 and the shower was REALLY small.  The kids loved the pool.  We did not have a chance to try the hot tub.  The grills are perfectly situated.
