My COVID test unexpectedly came out positive shortly after I booked the hotel. Despite me telling them a day in advance, they were radio silent for a day until a few hours before the supposed check in time, when I was in no condition to make the trip, where they told me that they would not refund me. These people are extortionists who'll do anything for extra cash. Do not waste your money with them.

Uncommunicative and Uncaring

Not recommended!  Rented #112 (2nd floor) for pet friendly accommodation. Instead on hard wood floors the unit has deeply soiled carpeting. The bad smell was not manageable w/o windows open (@ 43F). During evening found live stink bug in bathroom and roach crawling around the trash can near bathroom. So many better places for less money. No ocean view although just over the dune. Also, the hvac ventilation was lackluster and inadequate. Deck nice, deck chairs outside with comfortable space and view, beds average, cleanliness was good cept for carpet. Final straw was at 915am a rude mexican lady banging on our door asking when we were leaving and checkout is at 10. 
Overall bad experience.

Poor and smelly for the money

The worst place I've ever stayed  feel dirty itchy dog do and haires every where flees no staff on site kees vacations I'll never use this company again . Not worth the money had to go out get another place to stay.

 I would not book this place. Too many others on Hatteras to waste your time here
I suggest staying on in Frisco, Waves or Salvo. They have cleaner accommodations and are a few minutes from Hatteras Island

Will not go again

DO NOT go thru Kees Vacation Rentals!! First off, there is no check-in desk at the Sea Gull Motel. You have to call a number to get an access code to unlock the door. The mattresses were the worst!! You could feel the springs in your back and they had absolutely no support whatsoever. When we called the next day, they said we could switch rooms but the mattresses in the other room were no better. Therefore, we decided to cancel the other 2 nights stay due to poor accommodations, but Kees Vacation refused to refund our money. When my husband told the rep about the extremely poor quality of the mattresses, the rep told my husband "that's your opinion". She was very rude and unaccommodating. 

Kees Vacation Rentals RIPOFF!!

I reserved a room on Expedia for a month from now. Almost immediately, I realized I had a conflicting medical appt & 38 MINUTES after booking I contacted Expedia to cancel. They canceled but the motel refused to refund me the full amount. They stated there was a $100 cancellation fee. Literally on the website it states FREE cancellation. Expedia attempted to request hotel refund me & they sent to mgmt & refused. I called myself & they claim to be reconsidering…..still awaiting a response & out $100 for 38 minutes of booking & then cancelling. I offered proof of my medical appt. BEWARE

This place is absolutely fine... nothing special but its a basic motel with basic updated stuff. (Ive stayed in some OLD and gross motels in OBX and this isn't one of those! (Im looking at you Colonial Inn in Nags Head for $325 a night!) It was clean, not smelly, close to beach, has a pool, allows dogs (be careful of the pet/cleaning fee- not worth it for 1-2 nights).  Its affordable and close to hatteras village. Standard microwave and fridge, decent wifi/cable and AC.  Would definitely stay here again if I needed somewhere to sleep

Meets Requirements- clean, cheap, updated

Can’t check in earlier than 4 p.m. Once we did get into our room we noticed how dirty it was, the floor doesn’t look like it has been mopped in a very long time. The box spring covering was grotesque. The bathroom baseboards have dust, mildew and mold all around. We got out our sanitizing wipes and cleaned everything that we touched. We were upset that checkout was at 10 but ready to get out anyway. It’s really too bad because it has potential to be a great hotel. The kitchenette was nice but the bathroom needs a lot of work and please get a mop!

Overnight in Hatteras

Great location.  Beach right up the street about a 2 minute walk.  The staff are very nice, helpful, kind, and made our stay very easy and enjoyable.  The owners are very friendly and so are all the staff we encountered.  We will stay here again if ever in the area.  There’s an outdoor pool that we enjoyed.  They have grills if you want to cook out.  Parking is included!!!   Our room was very clean.  They kept the property areas cleaned at all times.  I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a close to the beach, stores, restaurants, a clean place to rest, great customer service place to stay!

Great customer service

Very basic motel rooms. Great location, steps away from the beach. WiFi was excellent. Beds were ok. Shower/tub was small.Ironing board was broken.Outside walkway lights are very bright and on all night. Room window does NOT have any curtains, so at bedtime room is very bright. Needs darkening curtains Location is the reason to stay here. I would stay here again.
