Very dated. The furniture and decor are very dated, worn and antiquated.  The furniture needs to be replaced.  The grounds needed landscaping help.  The bed was a brick.  The bedding was old and there were no extra blankets. 

Not what i expected 

Very nice B&B with amenities that combine old Victorian charm with creature comforts, especially the heated indoor pool heated to 90 degrees. Many rooms feature 2 person jacuzzi tubs. This property includes an old mansion plus a new accessible building in the back. We stayed in room #10 because it offered two beds, which is uncommon in B&Bs. This home is loaded with Victorian charm. While you’re there, you can read about the Wilbraham family. I read a portion of the volume and it’s quite a story. I’d suggest adding a little bit about the history to the web site. Apparently a ghost can be seen in one of the rooms at 3:00 am. Not that I saw anything. If you’re wondering about the steps, yes, they are steep. On the third floor, there was a refrigerator in between the two rooms for our convenience and our hosts permitted access to the kitchen at any time. Waking up to a delicious breakfast everyday was great; the hosts accommodated my gluten free diet. 

Victorian Charm and Modern Amenities

My sisters and I wanted to go to Cape May for two nights.  All the hotels had a three night minimum stay.  I came upon the Wilbraham.  They offered two nights.  Im glad I did.  The Mansion is beautiful.  We stayed in the main house.  They have newer units behind that look nice.  The owners and staff are the best.  Breakfast was delicious!  We sat on the porch at night.  Very peaceful.  Rooms were nice and clean.  The indoor pool is wonderful.  Heated and open all night.  

Very nice Mansion

This was probably one of the best weekend's of my life and the Wilbraham Mansion was part of that.  My wife surprised me with birthday weekend in Cape May, but usually when we go away, we're Hampton Inn folks.  Bt my wife wanted to make this a very special weekend for me, so she chose to take me to the Wilbraham Mansion.  We stayed in Room 102 in the newer building and the room was beautiful and while still holding Victorian look, it had all modern amenities including huge hot tub/jacuzzi. The place had really nice breakfast included, which was different each day, snacks in the middle of the day and leftovers/coffee later on, if you wanted.  Pool, bikes to use, walking distance to beach, very close to Sunset Beach and Lighthouse, close to Washington Street.  Just a great stay and if we ever get back to Cape May, I'm sure we'll be back to the Wilbraham Mansion.

Best Weekend Ever!!!

Absolutely horrible service. Last place I would stay in Cape May. Very nasty and rude staff, food is mediocre and room seems dirty and not cleaned well. My daughter had bumps on her skin the next day after sleeping in the bed. Also pool looks nice in pictures but dark and dingy looking in person. Wouldn't use it.

Horrible Stay

Our “GO TO” place to stay in Cape May. My wife and I come here every Christmas season (best time to come) and the service here is amazing. The grounds are well kept, the rooms are clean and the owners are friendly and they even remember you when you’re a returning guest. The indoor pool is so warm and clean. The breakfast is nice and just an overall wonderful experience. Always coming back.

A wonderful place

My husband and I have been coming to the Wilberham for years, both in the winter and summer. This August we were welcomed back by Doug and his wife. We stay in the suites and really enjoy the jacuzzi tub and large shower. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and full of sun. It is walking distance to the beach and were provided with complimentary beach tags. Doug always has great tips on where to eat and visit in town. The pool is must when we stay and a nice break from the heat. We can't wait to return to the Wilberham and enjoy Christmas time in Cape May.

Always a Great Stay!

My fiance and I just stayed at the Wilbraham Mansion in the new section- the suites.  We had a lovely room 204 in suite aea and it was clean and light with sun streaming in.. the shower was amazing with great water pressure and hot water.  We did not try the whirlpool tub in room as it was huge and could fit 3-4 people and we did not want to take the time to fill it up.  We loved the indoor pool which was lovely and water temp just right.  We went there every day for a swim and it was clean and amazing!  The breakfast was not great  but I understood that they were trying to keep people safe by not sitting us all together.  They gave you some type of egg bake and sweet something like a pancake or french toast with sausages..  Incidentally, the french toast was left out when we arrived and I sampled it and commented to the cook that it was extremely good. He said it was an old family recipe!  Best I ever had.  The mansion gave us 3 options for breakfast, would pack it to go, deliver it to your room or bring it to you on the porch or whever you were.  I also enjoyed the snack at 3PM in the kitchen which was a nice touch. The people that worked there were incredibly friendly and accomodating.  I honestly did not like the  original house as it was musty and dark.  I thought the location of the place was wonderful too. Id be back!

The Wilbraham Mansion

A beautiful room with a romantic fireplace and large well appointed shower. A full satisfying breakfast was served in one of the dining rooms made expertly by the family chef. We took a nightly swim in the expansive warm pool and had fresh towels to wrap up in. Beach tags were provided for the short walk to the shore.

Cozy stay in Cape May

We had high hopes for stay at the Wilbraham "Mansion" for our mini-vacation in Cape May.  We selected a room in the "mansion" rather than in the newer hotel-style building in the back. The "mansion" was just a modest-size old Cape May house that needs some work. 

PROS: There is a salt water INDOOR pool.  It looked nice but we're not swimmers so we didn't use it. The staff of 2 was moderately friendly but mostly invisible.  The furnishings and fixtures are upgraded and it's obvious the owners tried to make things as nice as possible. There is an old kitchen with some items available. 

CONS: The room was small and not laid out well.  The small TV was across the room, on the other side of the bed, but not a big deal, just inconvenient. The bathroom was in what likely was part of another room at one time and a 6" narrow step up (a tripping hazard, especially at night) and tiny except for the oversized shower. The biggest negative is the horrible mattress.  We like a firm mattress but this was like a rock and lumpy. We didn't get a good night's sleep either of the two nights we were there.  The "breakfast" was nothing special.  No choice at all; they served it to our room (our choice) on a tray that we had to balance on our laps.  It didn't seem like anything was homemade; I suspect frozen items reheated. Very disappointing. "Afternoon tea" consisted of serve-yourself to coffee or tea and a few packaged cakes and cookies.  Finally, the off-season room rate was unreasonably high with a strict no-cancellation, no-refund policy. We could have stayed at the best chain hotel for half the price and many more amenities and comfort. 

Overall, we were disappointed and would not choose to stay there again.
