Perfectly nice, if a little funky, hotel with good  bar. Room was clean, and we had a large balcony. Good location away from the super touristy area, but an easy walk to the shopping area and the beach.

Well priced and amusing little hotel.

This was our second stay at Elaine’s and it was better than the first.
As we were entering Cape may we received a phone call from Patrick our host asking what our time of arrival would be so he could be sure to be there to greet us.
Patrick showed us to our room on the second floor, our room was Nest #4, it has a large raised Victorian Bed facing it was at least 70” TV, our room faced Layfette St. and all the Christmas lights (very beautiful) the room also had a love seat and make up table.
The rooms climate control was a split system AC/Heat Pump that worked off a remote control, the bathroom was spacious.
As we were staying multiple days, we received breakfast vouchers for each of us at $15 per day.
We slept well and went down for Breakfast in the dining room where we would meet Paul who took care of us, he was a great dining room host, friendly, attentive and helpful. The breakfast menu averages between $8 to $16, the first day we both went with pork roll, Egg and cheese on a roll with home fries with coffee, our out of packet cost was $3 plus a gratuity, the second day my Wife had avocado toast and I had eggs benedict with home fries we both had coffee that day we had no out of pocket and just left a gratuity.
One of the biggest pros for staying at Elaine’s is every room has an assigned onsite parking space and great convenience in a town with limited parking.
We can’t wait to escape again to Cape May and Elaine’s.


2nd Stay, Better and Better

Had a great overnight celebrating mom's birthday! Nest 7 has a beautiful porch overlooking the outside bar. Right across the street from Washington Mall. Loved all the holiday decorations! Great breakfast included. Live music at night.

Mom's birthday 

We were invited to visit Cape May, NJ and stayed at Elaine's for three nights.  We LOVED the location a block from Washington Street Mall, Cape May Stage and Tisha's (an amazing restaurant).  This property has a variety of room choices, some Victorian in theme and newer renovated rooms with contemporary decor.  Some had access to the wrap-around veranda (or porch).  There was music on the weekend but a bit quieter during the week.  We went off-season so I would imagine during the busy summer season there would be more.  Breakfast is discounted if you book directly with the hotel.  I recommend a room with a private balcony or access to the porch.  

Great location and wonderful if you love a good cocktail and great entertainment - Great for a couples getaway

We've been coming here for several years. I'm so glad they've got new renovated rooms instead of musty Victorian nostalgia. There are now nice porch areas to sit and chill if you just want to have a cold drink and read a book. The new bar area is really nice and, as usual, the bartenders are great (Sandy is a legend). Food is very ordinary; not a dinner destination, but if you don't have reservations elsewhere and have kids, it will work. The rooms are very nice and the staff, always helpful. Atmospheric and convenient.

Extremely comfortable bed, very nice and clean room.  A lovely porch, even in the cold brisk air was so nice to sit in the sun.  The food was delicious at breakfast and dinner out on the patio.  The Christmas lights were so much fun.  The convenient location allowed us to enjoy so many aspects of Cape May.  Shopping, site seeing, walking, restaurants and bars.  A great place to spend a get away!  Highly recommended! 

Comfortable,  Cleanliness & Convenient!

Jason is the best bartender around. Whole bar is great. Fun staff. Great cocktail menus. Very unique and thoughtful. 

A wonderful place for the whole community. Festive decorations and a lovely patio to relax and people watch at. A real gem. 

Best bar 

Not your traditional Cape May B&B in the sense that it’s quite a happening place.  Restaurant and outdoor deck and bar stay busy and somewhat noisy all day and night on Friday and Saturday.  A lot of fun but not a quiet, secluded, family run B&B if that’s what you’re looking for.  Rooms are nice and bed was super comfy.  However, don’t stay in ROOM 11.  This shouldn’t even be a room!  Literally right behind the checkin counter and on a well travelled hallway to the bathrooms and kitchen.   This room should be deeply discounted.

Pretty happening place.

If this review were a review on accommodations and location, the review would be 4-star. However, there are a lot of other things wrong.

1 - I don't know who owns the hotel, but they need more training or schooling in hospitality management; maybe call Anthony Melchiorri from Hotel Impossible. The place is disorganized, and you are on your own, trying to find where to check in and where things are in the hotel.

2 - While some staff were harried but nice, others were downright rude. I guess that they are rude because they are unhappy with how awful the place is run.

3 - If you want to eat inside, well, I am not sure how that works because we could not.

Anyway, the location is excellent, the room is mostly ok, and they need to work on how to run a hotel. Maybe decide you want to be a restaurant or a hotel and pick one and get good at it.

Talk about phenomenal service—Sandy went above and beyond our needs and exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be back to enjoy her Espresso Martinis! Also, she is an ally to the queer community because she commented on my shoes.
