Love the decor; everything about the room says "vacation" & "coastal escape." The bed was really firm, and our a/c unit sounded like a freightrain when it kicked on. Nice toiletry assortment and the front desk girls were really friendly, and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Stones Throw is a small inn located right across the street from Long Beach. At night you fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves (if you have a seaside room). The rooms are cute and small but very tidy and comfortable. We loved the bar- restaurant on site; loved walking on the beach and visiting the lighthouse and shops in town. Staff at the Stones Throw are incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved our weekend visit and we'll be back sometime when they aren't sold out!

All the amenities you need at a great price

I stayed at the Stones Throw for 14 days and had an amazing vacation.  Wow.  What a great place to stay.  I will definitely return to this hotel.

Noise level:  I must admit that when I first made my reservations for this hotel, I was concerned about the noise level.  I was concerned about the noise from the beach traffic, the restaurant diners, the street traffic, the general store traffic, etc.  I am happy to say there was no noise except for the amazing sounds of the ocean each day and evening.  Wow.

Staff:  Everyone that works at this establishment is either family or friends of the family.  They were all very, very nice, polite, helpful, and informative.

Hotel Highlight:  Definitely the highlight of staying at this hotel is being able to sit out on your own private balcony on your own private table/chairs with the ocean breeze flowing through your hair as you watch the beach goers and the ocean.  Just amazing.  Just amazing.

Beach:  It was wonderful to have the beach so close to your room.  You could spend the day at the beach without worrying about driving to the beach or paying to park.  You could take a nice walk on the beach early in the morning or later in the evening with a nice mug of coffee in your hand and be so near your room.  It was also nice to be able to go back to your room if you wanted to grab something you may have forgotten, use the bathroom, freshen up, etc.

Clean:  This hotel is very, very, very, very, very clean.  Unbelievable what a terrific job these women do to keep the rooms so nice and clean.  My room was so clean that it appeared like it was a brand new, newly painted room. 

Extras:  A small bathroom but with lots and lots and lots of storage space.  The room had plenty of storage space, as well.  Lot of countertop areas to place things.  Coffee maker included.  Fridge included.  Ice machine on the bottom floor.  Large screen TV.

Restaurant:  It was very, very convenient to have the restaurant so close right below the hotel rooms.  

General Store:  It was very convenient to have the local general store right next door within walking distance of the hotel rooms.  They had nice Boston made pastry every day (muffins, Danish, cookies, etc.).  Nice homemade grinders for the beach.  Friendly staff.

Entertainment:  There are so many businesses very near by for entertainment, shopping, and eating out.  Local zoo, local light house, local bakeries, and more.  Really great location.  

Packing Hints:  
(1)  When you pack for this trip, please keep in mind there are a lot of stairs.  There is a set of stairs from the parking lot to the back of the restaurant.  There is a set of stairs from the back of the restaurant to the first floor of rooms.  There is yet another set of stairs from the first floor of rooms to the second floor of rooms.  That is a lotta stairs.  I would highly recommend don't pack suitcases but, instead, tote bags with just enough for a few days and leave the rest of your belongings in the car.  Makes things much easier going up those stairs.  Leave all of your beach equipment in the car.
(2)  No bar soap is provided at this hotel.  They use only shower gel.  So, if you are allergic to shower gels, bring your own soap.
(3)  No clock is provided at this hotel, so, bring your own.
(4)  No phone is provided in the hotel rooms.  So, keep this in mind if you do not have a cell phone.   

I will definitely return to this hotel again.  It is officially on my "go again" hotel list, for sure.

I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Beautiful View!

3rd year in a row staying here and play on going for 4.  you cant ask for a better  location.  the views are great  and the rooms are clean.  we stayed after labor day so  only able to eat at the restaurant  on  thursday night due to the falls hours it has but was a good meal as usual and i  look forward to coming back in 2019

back again

I stayed this past weekend and couldn’t possibly have asked for a more restful stay. The food was spectacular, drinks were great, my balcony felt like it was hovering directly over the ocean. I loved the decor and best of all: the service. I felt like I was staying at a friend’s house in Malibu. Five stars, cannot wait to come back!

Incredible value, breathtaking views - can’t wait to return!

Beautiful hotel directly in front of the sea. Positive points; quiet room #8 for 4 people with a great view of York Bay. Very quiet at night, you can sleep the door open listening to the waves. Very popular coffee machine, very convenient small refrigerator. Negative points; hotel restaurants closed in the morning which requires you to turn to the general store which is very busy, many seaweed were present when visiting.
