Location is all that “Flaggs RV Resort” has going for itself!!
If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, Flaggs isn’t that place!  Don’t let Mike and Nancy’s phony facades fool you.  They have no interpersonal skills nor do they have a clue about how to be a host.  The park isn’t about the residents it is about Mike and Nancy having complete control and being the center of attention.  They run the campground like a detention facility, constantly patrolling the campground, and spying on the residents from their balcony.  We met some great people during our 3 year stay, unfortunately Mike and Nancy are mean spirited adult bullies who need anger management counseling.

The location is close to the beach, only a few minutes to walk there.  The campsites are small and cramped together.  There are no facilities (bathrooms or washer/dryer).  Nancy and Mike act super nice when they are trying to get you to rent a spot from them.   This quickly changes after you pay and their true colors shine through.  Nancy is actually insane!  She stalks people to scream at them for “speeding” when they go 4 miles per hour.  Screaming is no exaggeration either.   She sneaks up and hides behind campers to spy on people and then yells at people if they are sitting at a campfire at 10:01pm   No exaggeration whatsoever.  You are required to have a bucket of water and put the fire out at 10:00pm.   She will sneak up behind a group of quiet, retired couples who are just quietly visiting each other to YELL at them to all get back to their campers and go inside!  This isn’t a group of young party people, these are retired professionals who are quietly talking on a Saturday night in the summer.  Not allowed!  They are also SUPER money hungry and will stalk you and follow you to your camper if you don’t pay the guest fee immediately.  This is even after you’ve paid the fee on time over 10 times in the past.  The other seasonal campers there are great and ALL complain about Nancy and Mike’s behaviors.  Its sad that they are all terrified of being yelled at though.  It’s really bizarre and in all our years of camping all over the country, we have never encountered rules like at this campground.  People rarely stay more than a few years because they can’t handle being treated like scolded children in a daily basis especially when you’re paying so much money to stay there.  We will NOT be returning and I cannot recommend!

Great location however, horrible owners make it not worth it!

Had the privilege to snag a spot with you family of 6! The grounds were spectacular and about 300 yards from the ocean.  Nancy and Mike were accommodating  and hospitable!  The place is quiet and clean! There was entertainments both nights we were there. We will be back!

Fabulous!

Don't be fooled by the proximity to the beach, this owner's are petty  and vindictive. The owners wife is completely nuts she will chase you and your guests through the park in the name of making you drive slowly (people driving 4 miles per hour are accused of exceeding the 5 mile speed limit). They don't just want your fire out ( with water) at 10 they want you to go to bed now! If my words don't convince you ask yourself why there is no wait list! Service people don't want to come in, no-one  wants to bring your trailer there. Sites are pathetically small and most sites do not have  50 amp service. We literally watched the owners wife sneaking between campers with a flashlight spying on guests. They highly discourage you having visitors (with actions not words). If you have a talent they need they will use you until you are no longer useful to them and trust me will not appreciate anything at all. They do not appear to like children at all. We were there for 3 years until we couldn't take it anymore and just sucked up the cost of getting out of there.

Red Flagg! Run don't walk - away from this place

This was our first year as seasonal campers at Flaggs RV Resort! We had a great summer and the owners Nancy and Mike work their butts off to make sure everyone is happy! We came as transit campers last year in 2018 and loved it so much we came back as seasonal campers this year in 2019! Mike and Nancy are putting in a lot of hours to continually make improvements to the park. Friday night pizza night, live entertainment on the weekend and your only a short walk to Long Sands Beach! We are so pleased with our experience at Flaggs RV Park, we are coming back for another season in 2020! 

Great Stay at Flaggs RV Resort!

Left RI this morning for a weekend in York, Maine. Arrived at our campground, Flagg RV and our site was awful. It wasn’t technically even a site. It was basically a mud patch behind a new building that was built at the campground. No grass, no picnic table, they had boards down in the mud that we had to park on because the ruts were so bad it was completely uneven. We didn’t even get the opportunity to open our slides but if we did, the living room slide would have literally been up against the back of the building. I complained to the owner before we even started backing in and said I was very unsatisfied (all the other sites had grass and picnic tables so that’s  why I truly believe this wasn’t really a site). Someone from the campground backed our RV up onto the boards and then a brick (one of the two wheels on the passenger rear side wasn’t even on the brick And was just hanging there). We put down our stabilizers and I think because it was so uneven and we were so high in the front, the pressure was too much. We heard a loud pop and the RV moved a little and it appears that a hydraulic hose burst and all the fluid came rushing out. We are at least assuming this was what happened. At this point I’m done! I called the owner over and showed him what happened and he said this was Not due to any fault of mine. At this point my husband feels we shouldn’t put down the jacks which means we can’t open the sides. And I have two upset kids sitting here with me. We made the decision we need to get back in and head home. 

I went to the office and demanded my money back which they did give me. When I said this wasn’t a site, the owner’s wife said people have been staying here since we opened in May. Someone who I spoke with just after we pulled in (who has a seasonal site there) said that they had only just started using that “spot”. When I said we would be up against a building wall, her response to me, well it’s a nice wall. Unbelievable! 

And the topper of it is that they said they highly discourage bringing dogs because people have complained so I complied and we boarded our dog. Now I have that expense and the kennel is closed until tomorrow when we can go pick him up. 

Avoid Flagg RV in York, Maine!! So disappointed. Sorry for the lengthy post. Needed to vent.

Flagg RV-avoid at all costs

This is the second year we have stayed at Flagg’s and once again we had a great time. We will definitely return. 

Flagg’s is a very clean, quiet, and more Importantly a very secure campground. The owners know who should or should not be in the campground day and night. I have read some reviews where some people see this as obtrusive, We enjoyed it it as security. I like the fact that someone is looking out for my things even when I’m not there. Most campgrounds you can drive right in unchallenged. 

The other campers were very friendly. It’s mostly seasonal campers but they still have a good amount of daily/weekly sites. Dogs are allowed in the campground, although it was very rare that we heard one. 

Live music was scheduled both weekends that we were there and I think they have scheduled events most weekends throughout the season. 

It’s a very easy walk to Long Sands. The owners are always accessible and genuinely friendly. They truly seem to enjoy owning a campground and enjoy the people that stay there. 

The sites... The campground has been there since sometime in the 50s. Yes some sites are larger than others. They try and put smaller campers on smaller sites so they can accommodate the larger campers. We have a smaller Class C with no slides. We have had  smaller sites both years. Those sites both had more than enough room for us and our guests. 

York Beach has been part of my family history since my grandmother went there as a young girl. Only recently have we been going to York with an RV. Flagg’s has already started being part of the next chapter of that history. 



Camping at York Beach 

Our Family had a house in York and we basically used the campground as a place to sleep. Each time we came to the campground to grab something we felt like we were being watched. The owners were constantly looking out their windows or turning heads everything time we came in and out. At least once a day they would approach us to either move our truck back a foot (yes a foot!) or check to see if we had a guest with us to pay the guest fee. 

They advertise they are dog friendly but weren’t. Dogs have a designated release area, which is insane since I have a hard enough time trying to get my small dog to pee in any grass area. Doggie bags can’t be thrown in the dumpsters, they have their own 5 gal bucket to go in and no walking of dogs around the campground as this will cause the other dogs to bark.

 We ended up catching the tail end of the Saturday night band. At 9:59pm the owner was there hosing down the community fire place and everyone scatters to their trailers for bed. 10pm is as quiet as a mouse. 

The sites are like sardine cans. Ours only had a foot between our awning and the camper in front of us. It was uncomfortable to site outside because it felt like you were watching the trailer in front of you. 

This is a great campground if you go to bed early, don’t have a dog and are gone all day, which at that point, why even go camping. We would have liked to enjoy the campground more but did not feel comfortable, due to the nosey owners, tight sites and strick rules. We will not be coming back.

Campground for older couples who like it quiet

We camped a couple nights at this campground. There are about 80 sites, and most are full time. Sites were small and cramped.  No public bathrooms or showers. Short walk to the beach.  They had yoga/stretching on the weekend mornings.  They had a great band on Saturday night. Everyone was friendly.

Camping in York

The new owners have done a great job providing seasonal guests with activities, entertainment and a friendly community environment. For transients, they are hyper vigilant in reminding us of the rules as if waiting for us to break them. They advertise as dog-friendly, however, dogs are not allowed anywhere in the campground except on a small area on the outskirts. Location near beach is good if you plan to be there for a majority of the time.
