We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Carmel Inn. Gorgeous little room in the center of a wonderful town, a few blocks back from the beach. Quiet and relaxed. Could not recommend enough. Breakfast basket delivered to the door each morning. All in all a fabulous stay!

Great stay in a fabulous BnB

Very friendly and courteous staff. Dog loving people! Easily allowed us to add an extra day (before) our reservation since we got in early. The breakfast baskets were an excellent touch and if you want to be in Carmel by the Sea, you just can't beat the location! Thanks for everything!

Perfect weekend stay

Very conveniently located in central Carmel. Rooms are small, dated but comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Complimentary continental breakfast and water was appreciated. 
Overall do not expect a 4 or 5 star experience and you should be happy.

Central location

We walked in off the street and thought we were staying at the Monte Verde but were placed in the Casa de Carmen Inn.  The room itself was okay but the temperature outside and the noise made it impossible to sleep. We were on the second floor and the windows are old,  jalousie windows which means it's like sleeping with screens in the windows instead of panes.   It was very, very cold in early December and very uncomfortable that night.  On top of that the garbage truck showed up around 5:30 a.m.  and it sounded like it was in the room with us.  You could also hear every conversation on the street  and every car that went by.  Breakfast was served outside on the front porch of the office, and again it was cold and not appealing.  We would not return.  We left early in the morning and found a place a little outside of town that was perfect, was even less expensive but most importantly it was quiet, had real windows and heat.

Check the windows before you take the room

Very nice decoration. You have everything you need in the room and bathroom. It is very warm and you can control the heating system. Very soft bed and pillows. The best was the vine that was free in the room. It was very tasty and was a very nice surprise after travelling many hours and before going out for dinner. Room was very clean. Only negative thing was breakfast which is left in front of your door within a basket every morning. It is just pastries, fruit and juice. But maybe that's the average breakfast in the US. So not a big deal.

Reception was closed around 8pm so we had to find the envelope with the key when we arrived. They use the same reception with Monte Verde Inn. Restaurants close early. Carmel doesn't have a real night life in winter. But, Dametra Cafe & Restaurant was our favourite.

It's a great place, beautiful and very well maintained. Italian style breakfast, i.e. brioches, yogurt, fruit. The only thing is the parking lot, there are few places, then you have to put it on the street.
