As a repeat guest, I had a very nice stay here.  The other guests were respectful to others and quiet which helped everyone out.  My room and the grounds were very well maintained.  I would recommend short or long term stay here.

Vacation Stay

The staff was very kind.  The coffee was hot and good.  The housekeeping was lacking.  I had to ask for towels, toilet paper, and for the garbage to be taken out.  I was there for over 10 days.  I would expect a bit better service.  

Not too bad.

Had a very pleasant stay for a 4 day weekend.  I would recommend this place to anyone wanting/needing a good place.  All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating as they have been for the last 3 years that I have stayed there when visiting the area.

Weekend Visit

The Carroll Days Inn was a decent basic hotel. We did have a clean and reasonably comfortable room. But they do not have an elevator so you take the stairs if your room is on the second floor. My husband had some equipment we couldn’t leave in the car so we had to carry it (they don’t even have a luggage cart) up to our room.  Supplies for the room were rather skimpy too. We’ve stayed at other Wyndham hotels for less than this one charged and been much happier with them.

Falling short of good

Overall it was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast was mostly packaged carbohydrates-no eggs or sausage, but about what you would expect for a budget hotel.

We just had a hard time getting used to the smell. We were on the first floor; it might be better on the second floor.

Room had a musty, old hotel smell

We had two rooms.  One was very musty when we first arrived.  But some air freshner and it was a nice room.  The other room had was very nice.  Nicely decorated.   Lots of room.  Parking was easy and close to the rooms.  The desk clerk was very friendly and accomidating.  We stayed three nights.  Breakfast was very limited, so we didnt have breakfast there at all.  The pool was closed.

It was worth the money

Pool was closed and website showed hot tub but it had been filled in. Rooms were updated and clean. Breakfast was better than most. Comfy beds. Washer and dryer.
Close to most of the town businesses. Quiet safe area.

Work trip

The bathroom floor was sticky like soda had been spilled on it and was never mopped. We also had to ask for clean towels and then wait in the room to get them delivered. We also couldn't get the room cleaned up or the bed made. My back was sore after sleeping on a mattress that sank in the center of the bed.

Beds are old and worn out. Carpet is sticky. The stairs are hazardous. Building badly needs updating. But it beats sleeping in the truck. I didn't see any bugs which is a plus.staff was nice. And there's a great breakfast next door.

We visited Carroll to attend the Iowa State Baseball Tournament. It took a while to find a room, due to the number of people traveling to Carroll as well as RAGBRAI being just north of there. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and called me back when they had a room open up. We took the room because it was the only hotel with a pool we were able to book. Sadly, upon check-in, we were informed the pool was not open, we were told at that time it was due to a chemical imbalance. The room was nice and roomy and clean. The hallways and stairways could have used a little more cleaning but it seemed they, like everywhere were short-staffed, and it didn't really affect our stay. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay,
