NCSE (Nice-Clean-Safe-Economical)!

It's gives you a very good feeling to stay at a place that is NCSE...just make traveling more fun!

This motel is very clean and well maintained and the owner/manager was very polite, courteous, sincere and professional at all times during our stay.

My wife and I are retired and this is the type place that checks off all the "must have" boxes and helps to keep us within our budget.

Note...a breakfast would have been nice but all other aspects made up for it and there were 2-3 fast food chains within walking/driving distance.

I would recommend it to my friends and relatives and would stay there again in the future.  Also, it was so nice/clean, it might be worth driving 15-20 miles out of the way just to stay there.

Great Management & NCSE (Nice-Clean-Safe-Economical)!

I booked this lovely little motel based on price..was going to be spending a couple days in Gettysburg. I was so pleasantly surprised...the motel outside is clean and well kept. No smoking signs prominently displayed. This is an older place, so I was just hoping for nice and clean. It WAS! the room also boasted soft towels, nice pillows, fridge and microwave, desk, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, etc. I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, needs a moderate accommodation. The people were lovely, also. 

Pleasant Stay in Gettysburg

I do not know how this hotel received all the “Choice” awards displayed in their office. The only positive thing is the caretaker is a nice man and the front office staff. Hot shower and cold AC. 

However, the room was infested with stink bugs and roaches. First room I got, stink bugs were crawling on the beds and light fixtures in the ceiling. I complained and got a different room, but still the same problem. Stuck here until I leave Gettysburg,  but dread coming back to my room bc it’s gross and disgusting coming back to bugs in the room. Stink bugs can bite and leave red rashes on the skin. As well as their “smell”. 

This place is worn down. I woke up in the middle of the night to find a roach running across the tv. I did consider sleeping in my car after that. However, for a 2 star hotel, there are other 2 star hotels in the area that have better reviews. This place needs to be fumigated. It’s awful. 

Bugs, bugs, and more

We usually stay closer to the battlefield,  but we were only staying one night, and didn't want to pay alot more money.  The hotel is very nice with a big room and very clean.  Close to a Walmart and Dairy Queen  and other stores and gas station. Going back again and staying there this month (August).

Great for an overnight stay or longer 

The cleaning and maintenance staff were very helpful. The manager of the hotel is a totally different story! We had to cancel our 3rd night due to family emergency. Manager said he couldn't cancel 3rd night unless the booking company called him.  We had booking company call him while we were there, since they tried once and he did not answer. 
 We stood right there on hold with the booking company while they talked to the manager on another line. Everything was settled & we were not to be charged for the 3rd night.  *Upon check-out, the manager refused to give us a receipt for our stay. Said booking company would give us one* (?!)
 The next week, booking company says they contacted the hotel and we were not getting our refund, and there is "nothing" they can do...*What?!* This was supposed to have been already taken care of!  Plus, booking company says manager was supposed to give us a receipt.
 Shady and dishonest, and a lot of passing the buck between booking company  and Econo Lodge Gettysburg.
We are planning a 2-week stay at Gettysburg, and you can be sure we will NEVER stay at another Econolodge with their shady business practices!

Wish I could give minus 5 stars!

I booked a room for my mother's birthday a month in advance. At the time of the booking there was only two adults going. There was a change at the last minute and an additional person tagged along. I got a standard room with a max occupancy of 4. I went to check in and the woman asked how many. I stated 3 adults. The attendant became VERY rude and very dramatic in stating that I had only selected 2 adults. I didn't think an extra person would be an issue and I wasn't aware that there was an additional charge for another person, when the MAX occupancy of the room was 4. As another guest entered, the woman became more  very belligerent in demanding how I planned to pay the extra charge. I asked if she would like my card and at that point she just said leave. If I could have had been refunded for the stay I would have absolutely left and went some where else. Never again will I stay at this Econo Lodge or any for that fact. To add additional comments: the brochure says continental breakfast which is complete false advertisement. All that was offered were little bags of chips and Cheetos (that you had to pay for) and a pot of coffee. The sheets were also all stained and at one point my mother woke up to the sound of a mouse eating something. I will NEVER again stay there and I will be sure to tell my experiences. The rudeness, sarcasm, lack of cleanliness, and false advertisement were such a disappoint. I was willing to pay and overlook the whole situation if the attendant would have been more polite and explained the situation. Never again!

Never Again

This was in an ideal location in Gettysburg, PA. Close to all the destination attractions. The price was excellent, the rooms were clean and nicely furnished. My wife and I spent one night here and would return to this location if we come back to Gettysburg.

Value for your money

Amazingly nice employees, clean and spacious rooms, very quiet. Loved it..! This hotel is only one mile from the downtown quaint Gettysburg. You can even walk if your a walker. You can not beat this hotel when it comes to the price for the location, cleanliness, and lovely rooms. This place is a winner. No breakfast but there is a lovely diner you can walk to in under 5 minutes, right next door, for a great breakfast.

Excellent Location and Awesome Hotel

Room was at the end of the row on the first floor. Very nice room, clean and functional. Beds were comfortable. Large fridge kept everything nice and cold. No breakfast or daily housekeeping at this time but it wasn't missed. AC worked well, keep the room comfortable. I would stay there again. Room also had flat screen tv, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee maker, microwave, fridge and alarm clock. The only negative was I could hear the people upstairs walking in their room - their floor (my ceiling) creaked. I couldn't hear anything through the walls.

Pleasant Stay

Stayed 2 nights, on the 2nd floor, on a College Reunion Weekend.  Room was very clean, with plenty of towels and wash clothes for several days.  Owners are very nice.  Great location, on Route 30, next to a Giant shopping center
