HIGHLY disappointed with the front desk staff, she was very rude. We was passing through the area, and stopped to get a room since there was a vacancy sign out front. When going in to ask for a room we was informed that there was nothing available, and the closest thing was the motor in at Marlinton. When asking if there was nothing available on top of the mountain her answer was I couldn’t tell you, you will have to go see. And we also asked why there was a vacancy sign out front if they was full and she responded because it stays that way.

We had an amazing time at the Inn. There are reviews that make you think it's not acceptable, just ignore them! The place is dated, that's no doubt. However, the beds were super comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean and the staff was 10/10. The pool and hot tub are amazing! We were very pleased and the price was beyond reasonable for the accommodations!

Rating grossly underestimate this property

Excellent service, friendly staff. I would recommend to EVERYONE!!! We had a horrible time with another inn and being on a business trip, at our witts end. We stopped to see if they could fit us in anywhere for 2 nights. They gladly gave us a room and the government rate. They also told us about the other place. The check-in was simple and we were just so thankful!!!

Saving grace!!

I booked a room through booking.com with the Inn for my family. After paying for the room a week later I was notified the room was no longer available. Two days of communication with booking.com and The Inn,I found out they never had the room to begin with that I was charged for. This is classic bait and switch borderline fraud. Do not do business with these people or it will cost you your snowboarding trip like it did ours. They did however offer an eternity of on the mountain for almost $500 more.  Way to do business and economic times such as these.

Stayed here once. The pictures Harvey A posted are of the Village at the top of snowshoe Mountain. It’s a total SCAM that TripAdvisor would even allow pictures of housing at the top of snowshoe Mountain such as Allegheny Springs, Highland House Rimfire lodge, & the village to be posted as “The Inn at Snowshoe.”  The Inn at snowshoe is an old, musty, rundown motel located at the bottom of snowshoe Mountain.  If you happen to book a room at any of the housing at the bottom of snowshoe and there’s heavy snow you need all wheel Drive if you want to be up at the top of snowshoe geared up and ready to ski fresh powder when the ropes drop at 9 AM.  This inn was dirty, smelled like someone had smoked in it, and the heater was loud and obnoxious.  This place is very inexpensive though compared to renting a place actually on top of snowshoe. However by renting at the bottom of the mountain you give up a lot of convenience.  So if you’re absolutely desperate rent here and enjoy skiing. After all if you’re enjoying the slopes you can mostly put up with any type of run down housing.

Hotel was dated, but staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Only stayed one night for my son's golf tournament. Best price for one night, and a mile from the course. Didn't have time to use the pool. Beautiful area, but disappointed local restaurants/shops not open (apparently October is off season). Even those that were open did not open/close at times advertised.

Inexpensive but very basic with nothing aesthetically pleasing. Felt unclean. 6 mile drive up to Snowshoe Village, thus reason for low price. Looks like an old nursing home or small hospital outside & inside. Depressing.

This place would have been good a few decades back, but I’m guessing it fell into disrepair.... the good news is that things are improving.  The lobby is nice and the pool is great but rooms need some maintenance.  Wall paper is pealing and room smelled of cigarette smoke even though a non-smoking Room.  Price for room should have been lower due to this.  No breakfast, just coffee.  Even cold cereal would have helped. Front desk was very friendly and very accommodating.  Since this was very last minute booking I was extremely happy for the room and plan to return again to see how renovations can improve my next ratings.

They are making improvements

Our stay there was okay, even though the staff gives you a death glare for asking for any type of service for your room. But once we left we had a ton of bills taken off our card. Saying we had ruined the floor, chipped the door hindge, and stole bed sheets, pillows, etc. absolutely anything to get more money out of us, but I’m not sure what else I expected when pulling up to this dumb. They probably needed that money more than we did

THEY WILL TAKE YOU FOR ALL THE HAVE!!!!

Inn at Snowshoe is located at the bottom of the mountain, about 6 miles away from village center where good resorts are.  Location is okay for finding affordable food like dinner, across the street are some nice local shops, Route 66 is part convenient store, part restaurant, part cafe.  Great pizza!  Offers a free shuttle to the top, but expect infrequent pickups, unpredictable wait times.  You're better off driving to the top and free parking as hotel guest at Top of the World, at the top of Soaring Eagle lift.

Don't forget that included in your room stay is Split Rock Pools, even though there is an indoor dated pool, whirlpool area.  Permanently closed restaurant at the Inn, a "hospitality" room where there seems to always be staff cooking something.  Part of the Inn is for Snowshoe employee housing, so the Inn often smells like a college dorm.  There is a small snack "shop" but you are better off going across the street or nearby gas station with a Subway.

No cell phone service, but WiFi is strong as each room have their own router.  You can get phone reception at the village center at the top of the mountain.

We stayed here only as a last resort because the top of the mountain condos were sold out.  Snowshoe resorts on top are amazing, all are more like condos with kitchenette and kitchens.  This place you are stranded if you don't come prepared, another guest had boxes of Pop tarts they packed.  While our room had a refrigerator, don't count on your room having a fridge, as all rooms do not have refrigerators.  None have kitchenettes, either.  We did pack cereal, milk, fruit for breakfast or snack, the hospitality room has a hot water dispenser for oatmeal or hot drinks you may have packed.

If kids happen to be in parties next door, you will hear them running down the hallway.

Facility will probably not get updated because of the Inn mainly being a place for employee housing for those who work at Snowshoe.  Being an international staff does make it an interesting experience in and of itself, if you don't mind a behind the scenes experience.  This place is good only for last resort booking, otherwise book at the top of the mountain.
