We stayed here for a few weeks while waiting for our apartment to be ready. It IS a budget hotel. Furniture is dated for sure however. The owners price it as such and are so fair. If you want bells and whistles,pay for that! The owner and his wife are soooo nice. The heater wasn't working well in our room and they did not hesitate in installing a new one. When my little girl was sick the wife was so sweet and genuinely seemed to care about how she was doing. It's quiet, no problems with other guests and our housekeepers have done an amazing job. I could give this place 3 stars for the condition of the property but I am giving them five because for me the people working here make it an outstanding value.

Decent value stay

Very nice, very clean, not missing anything, very helpful, enjoyed large parking lot and ability to back up to room., ease of check in and check out, I did not understand how to connect to internet since I kept getting a warning this could be fraud when I tried to log in with the password, maybe I just did not understand the process, all else great, returning again to stay tonight

My wife and I have been attending the Utah Shakespeare Festival for over 30 years. For the last several years we have stayed at the Vagabond Inn in Cedar City. They offer breakfast and are close to restaurants.

Good value when attending the Utah Shakespeare Festival

Had to walk up a flight of stairs to the room and the stairs and upper balcony itself felt sketchy, the concrete was crumbly. The room itself was in disrepair and did not feel clean. We even felt a little concerned about our car in the parking lot. Cheap and sort of gross, would not stay there again.

Kind of gross

First impressions are everything and while the husband was checking in, the lady at front gave him MAD attitude about not being able to pay our $15 dog fee in cash and THE DOG IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED ON THE BED BECAUSE SHE WOULD HAVE TO THROW THE DUVET AWAY. In all fairness, that duvet NEEDS to be thrown away. It is old, worn and ripped. The towels in the bathroom were ALL stained and our non smoking room REEKED of cigarettes. It is a spacious room with a refrigerator and microwave, but that does not make up for the rudeness upon arrival and the feeling of absolute uncleanliness in the room. If you're on a budget, this will be perfect for you-just bring your own pillow as the ones here feel like they've been stuffed with rolled up socks. We will definitely pay a little extra for somewhere else next time.

You get what you pay for

Not once but twice before even being allowed my key I was told that my credit card would be charged if I smoked in my non smoking room.  She said it in a threatening way as if to say I was going to do it, and I don't even smoke.  After that she told me there was a fee for the dog and she didn't put me in a dog room.  After 10 minutes I decided to pay the fee so I could get a dog room and she just took the cash and said to stay in the room I already had.  She was accusatory and hostile while checking me in and I don't appreciate that.  On top of that the room was not even clean.   Never will I stay here again.

Don't stay here if you can help it......If being discriminated against is your thing, stay here.

This place was awful from the beginning. The woman at the front desk rolled her eyes at me when I told her I had my children with me. I got one room key and was told that the paper envelope had to come back to the front desk. It was sticky when I got it. 
 The bathtub was full of long black hair and wouldn’t drain. The toilet was clogged when we got in. The walls were paper thin, so we could hear everything in the next room. 
  There were holes in the subfloor under the carpet. It made us feel like we were going to fall through. The breakfast consisted of waffles and cereal. There was coffee, but the owner walked out ahead of me and took the last of the coffee for himself. 
  I will never be back and I don’t recommend you do either. 

Save yourself the trouble

Stayed here for the Shakespeare Festival and will never return. One of the rooms had bed bugs.  The floors were so dirty. The bathroom tub didn’t drain properly so the dirt was just all around the bottom of the tub. There was dried pee at the bottom outside of the toilet. The wall in the bathroom was splattered with something, I didn’t even want to think about.  
It does not have maid service. It is cheap but nothing is worth the filth and bed bugs!
