We arrived around 7:30 p.m. Miss Jana who was at the front desk was in a bad mood. Noted for her little desire to answer the greeting. Upon arriving in the room around 9:30 we noticed that the bathroom was closed. And she returned food. Call again Miss Jana who took 3 calls to answer the previous 2 calls. The contestant came in (it's a hotel. It's midnight. No one answers the phone????? NO. I informed her about what happened to the same Miss Jana. Y asked me all the bathroom was closed with VÓMITO. I got the call. Act followed by bajé. And she with her unfriendly face went up to my room.

I really wish I'd paid more attention to the reviews of this place before booking. There was a reason it was so cheap!!

As a single woman traveling alone with a dog this was by far the worst experience of my entire trip, when everywhere else had been so helpful and nice. The first red flag after the "too good to be true" price was the sign on the entrance door that said the hotel was undergoing renovations. After a long drive, I really didn't have the energy to go elsewhere so I was hoping that it would get better. Unfortunately it didn’t. 

The check in clerk was extremely robotic, no smiles, and couldn't care less. I told her on check in that I was only going to stay one night vs 3 and could I change that. She "wasn't sure" and then told me the "computer" couldn't do it. End of. No resolution. She then put me on the 2nd floor with a dog! I came back down and asked for something nearer the dog area. There was only one entrance in and our the hotel. She looked confused but put me in a room right next to the lobby. The room reeked of bleach that made me feel nauseated. I told them I wouldn't be staying past that one night. Still no refund on my other 2 nights. I had to walk my dog out the front entrance, through the lobby, past grass that had big signs saying "no pets" (my dog doesn't read and grass is grass when you need to pee) and over to the corner of the parking lot in the dark before getting to the area where I could allow him relieve himself.  And yes, we didnt make it one time as it was too much for him. Again, single woman traveling alone late at night.

I actually got onto the Choice hotel reservation line from my hotel room and got a number to call to try to refund my money but got cut off. The shower made so much noise that my dog barked at it. It was very old and dirty. I couldn't get out of there fast enough the next morning. The same woman was on the hotel desk when I dropped my keys and she didn't even acknowledge me.

I called the reservation line again when I got home and got the same answer. The "computer" didn't know how to refund the 2 nights I didn't stay! But I was assured that my complaint had been escalated to the hotel management. I was also given an email address to write to for the manager. I emailed and have had no response.

This hotel will give you 1 star service and take your money with no refund or recourse for complaint. I ended up paying $300 for one night of TERRIBLE service and inconvenience, due to lack of refund. Choose somewhere else to stay in Cedar City.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND NOT DOG FRIENDLY!!!

This hotel charged us for a hotel room which we did not use.  The credit card was never in their possession and they charged it immediately BEFORE we had even arrived at the hotel. 

We were traveling on a road trip, made a reservation via cell phone call to the front desk, phoned back 10 minutes later when we looked at our maps and realized we could drive further that day than we thought and would stay elsewhere, phoned back to this hotel within 10 minutes to cancel and was told our reservation would be cancelled.  The hotel charged our credit card anyway.  The manager refused to refund the money even after several phone calls.  We will have to dispute it with our credit card company.  The manager was unreasonable and unwilling to consider anything but charging us.   BEWARE!  Very poor customer service.

Dirty hotel, dust everywhere

We booked this hotel because their website said they had a handicap accessible pool and hot tub. My husband is paraplegic and we wanted to swim but when we went to use the lifts they wouldn’t work. After lots of investigating with a staff member we figured out both lifts weren’t charged. She had to get additional help and we were told it would take four hours for a full charge. When I spoke to the employees about making sure to keep them charged if they were going to advertise having them one of the staff members told me “I’ve been here 10 years and used the lifts twice, it’s not common”.

Upon entering the hotel, we encountered signs to apologize for remodeling but we did not see any evidence of remodeling. We booked directly over the phone and our reservation was accurate upon arrival. Check in was a little slow because the card reader was having glitches. The grounds were very clean with a separate area for pets though no bags were in the area. There was plenty if free off-street parking including two electrical chargers and ample room for larger vehicle. You can walk to a nearby Golden Corall though it requires crossing a fairly busy main street. A local cafe and Mexican restaurant Cafe Sabre are also walking distance on the same side as the hotel. Plenty of other food, conveniences and shopping options are within short drives. This is a two-story hotel so if you want first floor, let them know. Our room was a king of ample space with a lounge chair and desk. We also had a larger minifridge with a freezer section and microwave. It was a quiet hotel despite being busy. We had reliable, free internet and Direct TV with HBO. They offered a good hot breakfast with eggs, sausage patties, waffles plus continental offerings including a fruit mixture. There was an accessible reliable ice machine. the hotel is conveniently located on S Main near a south Highway 15 exit. Our total cost was $89 with taxes and fees. The pet fee was $25 (max of two and a max of 60 lbs.) We would stay here again. It would be a great central location for exploring Bryce and Zion.

Enjoyed Our Stay at This Reasonably Priced Pet Friendly Hotel

Very basic hotel in need of good renovation (removing carpets, painting the rooms). Clean hotel, very good staff service, good free lunch, clean rooms but decoration really needing to be updated (old and unclean tapestries), pool, spa and veranda windows really need good cleaning because the water is very muddy and you can barely see out the windows. The hotel has 4 Tesla charging stations (level 2 - 240V) free for customers.

Practical for owners of electric cars

Platinum Member - The internet photos make this hotel look better than it is.  For a "Comfort Inn & Suites" , the appearance should be much better.  The old, worn out, dirty carpet on the stairs up to the 2nd level detracts from the otherwise nice entrance.   The hot breakfast is excellent . We ignored the "don't take food to room" sign because we were not feeling well.  The Room itself (Room 217) was awful. See pics.  This room should not be let to the public in its current state.  The a/c-heat unit make weird swooshing noises and the toilet is the slowest flush in the West.   We stayed 3 days and did not request a move because we were convalescing and only cared about two comfortable beds.  They were.   However, on Day 3, the DirecTV stopped working.   That outage lasted for about 5 hours.   We personally dropped DirecTV decades ago because of its unreliability.   Does Cedar City, UT have Cable?    Being under the weather, those 5 hours were long and we started to really "see" the poor condition of the room (see pics).  Also, please note that the main local road is very, very close to the back of this Hotel and is busy with loud traffic.   Use a white noise maker to Sleep.   FYI - ( Comfort Inn - Beaver is quiet and has a much nicer view ).     Almost forgot,  the automatic dimmer light (the only light) in bathroom is dangerous.   Try being in the shower when it goes off.    Pitch black!   This is a serious Safety issue for the elderly and a liability issue for the Comfort Inn-Cedar City.   BTW, first time we've seen this set up in our many, many Choice stays.  Saving a few dollars in electricity could be devastating to an older guest - Please rectify.

Today, we found out that GM has given us a 17.3% credit for our "troubles".  However, we are still waiting for our AAA rate because only the GM can authorize this correction.   This is another first,  we have stayed in a lot of Choice and other hotels over the decades, and many a desk clerk have taken care of this seemingly innocuous matter.  Their must be some kind of management/employee mis-trust issue going on here.  Fortunately, when we check out tomorrow (Monday), the GM will be here to correct the AAA rate.....


Platinum members find their worst room ever!

Good location with restaurants and shopping close. The room was large and clean. I like a large vanity to lay out our toiletries. The television was a little small for this large room but it worked well as did the remote. We had a nice view with an armchair and 2 comfortable beds with very silky like sheets. The towels were thick and soft. We slept good and all was well.

My husband and I stayed here to enjoy a few days of the Shakespearean festival for our anniversary. I have a mobility impairment caused from a spinal cord injury. I do not require a wheelchair in most situations, but do not walk well, and experience back and knee pain. Because of this one thing that we always look for in a place to stay is a hot tub, either in room, or as part of the hotel's commonly shared amenities, so I can soak in the warm water, which does wonders for my body. So I was greatly disappointed when we walked down the first night to use the hot tub to find that the wheelchair lift had been installed with the seat on the opposite side of the hot tub steps from the handrail, and facing said handrail, and the foot plate completely blocking off the steps. There was no way to move the foot plate out of the way. The lift was inoperable without a key, so there was no way to rotate the seat out of the way so I could access the steps. And when we finally asked the person at the front desk, we were told that the lift was broken. So not only is the hot tub inaccessible to anyone requiring a wheelchair, it is inaccessible to anyone requiring the use of the steps in order to safely access the hot tub as well! I wish we could have green a picture to more adequately show what we found. I don't even understand why someone would think to install the lift like that to begin with. Then to add, their breakfast is pretty mediocre. And when I asked if they had hot sauce, salsa, or ketchup, I was told "no, everyone always asks, but we just don't have it." If all of your customers are always asking for condiments that will mask the terrible taste of your dry, terrible eggs, Don't you think it makes good business sense to provide those condiments? But really, I probably would not be complaining about that, alone. But the lack of hot tub accessibility for their disabled customers is absolutely unacceptable. I will not stay there again.
