Giving honest opinion of room, no coffee in room, toilet was loose, not enough lighting in room, room was not very clean as far as toilet area and sink area lots of burn marks all over was not happy with it at all especially what I had to pay for it

Let me be the first in saying I dont like "reviewing" places like this because as a halfway competend traveler, people should take this or any other place on this level,... FOR WHAT IT IS!!  No, there isnt any fancy updated rooms here, no elevator no "free" breakfast with pancakes , eggs bacon , i,e, ..you get my drift here? .. when I stay at ABVI, im staying for the price & its closeness to the casino ( literary 2 min away).. for people on  here bashing this place is absurd, you wanna pay $65 on a sunday night ($73.45 with taxes) to stay in a ok place with nice flatscreens and a pretty good channel selection list, this is your place. You wanna spend $130 on upward for animenties and a fancy smancy room, breakfast in the am ...this isnt for you, but again a halfway inteligent traveler should'nt have to read this review to figure that out.

Ok hotel\motel, Great! Great! Rate!..

Pleasant stay.   Hotel not very fancy but all the room was clean and beds slept okay.  Location close to the casino so you can come back and forth as needed.  If you are not interested in the continental breakfast there is a full restaurant next door that is reasonably priced.

Gambling weekend trip.

The photos are extremely deceiving. Upon check in we were greeted promptly by the front desk agent. Check in was quick and painless. Upon entering our room my husband and i immediately looked at each other in disgust. The room had a terrible odor, stains on the floor, curtain hooks but no curtain and a ton of burn holes in the dingy yellow comforter. We had dinner reservations at the steakhouse in the casino and we quickly put our things down and left. When we got back around midnight we pulled the sheets back to go to bed and i didn't even want to lay in the bed. The sheets seemed clean but i just had an uneasy feeling. I asked my husband if he wanted to drive home right then. He agreed. As we were loading up the car my husband went to the front desk to see if we could get a refund. Since we booked through a third party (hotels.com) she was unable to do that. As my husband was talking with the front desk agent i was sitting in my car getting my gps ready to go. I noticed in my rear view mirror a gentleman(at 1am) approaching the truck parked next to me. Then i noticed him walk around the back of my car and attempt to open the truck on the other side of my car. Their were men walking around and trying to help themselves to unlocked vehicles. We notified the front desk agent and she went to confront the gentleman. I would NEVER stay here. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Terrible. Do not waste a dollar on this place.

Room was freshly painted, clean, good air conditioning, all plumbing worked as it should. A good location for visiting the local casino. Staff was friendly. Always stay in the Charles Town area on the way home on our annual motorcycle trip thru WV. Stayed here in the past and this property has changed for the better.
