room could've been in better condition. state of amenities were to be expected for the price but at least a minimum theres free coffee and the atmosphere is friendly. customer service is actually quite reasonable and was helpful when i made requests as well. 4/5.

decently priced

This was probably one of the sketchiest places I have ever stayed. I felt compelled to carry my gun just to go check in and slept with it under my pillow (first time ever!) The place is filthy and run down. The lady at the counter was nice but distracted by a flirtatious guest. If i wasnt so exhausted from driving through the mountains, i would've drove another hour just to get away from the place.  The pictures dont show it all: there were set-in stains on the bedsheets, covers and towels, dirty  bathroom, the security latch on the door was held with one loose screw. The place was just a mess. I should've asked for a refund the next morning. The place was bad.

Lord, help this place

By Far The Worst Hotel  I'VE Seen. Walked In, Walked out.  Girl passed out at the top of steps. Door busted in. Blood and burnholes on sheets and some type of crusty substance on bedspread. The air unit was leaking and I used a towel to wipe it up, as you can see in the pictures, the floor was black. There was toilet paper crammed into the peephole because it had been knocked out and was no longer there. The bathroom door had been kicked in so hard it had split and the wood was coming through. It would not close. At the bottom of the stairs were 2 more homeless people with backpacks, food, drinks and carrying a portable TV. I stepped over the passed out girl twice and she never moved. I was beginning to wonder if she had overdosed but I didn't want to get involved. In the parking lot I was approached twice by people asking for money. I got into my car and called Red Roof guest relations. I explained my situation and that I was afraid to stay there alone for 2 nights. I asked if she could simply move me to the Lookout Mountain location. I explained I completely understand there would be a price increase and I would happily pay the difference even though I felt I should not have too. She told me she could not help me I had checked in. I told her I went in looked at the disgusting room and street people and came back out. I also explained to her it was my understanding that as a redirewards member I had until 4pm to cancel or change my reservation. She said not if you have went into the room. I needed to go back to the front desk. I told her I was scared to be there and since she did not want to help me in anyway I would get in touch.with Chase bank and let them get involved. I immediately called my credit card company who advised me to leave the keys in room and leave, not to stay if I felt threatened. I was there with my chihuahua and I don't mean to sound pretentious, but I drive a Mercedes convertible and I really did not think it would be there if I spent the night there. My husband and I have worked hard for what we have so the people asking for money was ridiculous. I read reviews and most of the time take them with a grain of salt. There are people that will never be satisfied no matter what. I have exaggerated nothing in this review. If you have any other option at all, take it. Do not stay here. 
Also....the pics of the rooms on this site, hotels.com and Red Roof website are all fake. Nothing looks like any of these pic as you can see by mine.

PAY EXTRA, CHARGE IT, SLEEP IN YOU CAR, JUST DO NOT STAY HERE. NOT SAFE

Worst experience ever!  Room may have looked clean but wasn't.   Floor was sticky near bed in one area.   Bed had one sheet along with some kinda of sheet cover that had cigarette holes, and no blanket.  Headboard had holes and large scratch marks.  Ceiling light fixture had dead flies in it.   Bathroom was painted a sloppy dark color and bathroom door and frame which looked like a dog had fun. The one chair room had looked like it had seen better days and you wouldn't have wanted to sit in it.  Good thing all I need was a place to rest.   

Needs repairs/updates

I was travelling with my dog. I use Red Roof Inns cos its easy to choose hotels. I didn't read any reviews. That was my biggest mistake. As I travelled to Florida and back to Kentucky, the hotels got worse and worse. This one being the absolute WORST! Started when I checked in and was given wrong key to wrong room. Went in and first saw blood on comforter and was about to turn around to address this and saw someone else's luggage. I was given key to another room. I was unfamiliar with area, so I figured I'd endure this. Peeked in pillowcases and there was blood on pillows. I started crying. I was tired after travelling all day. I should have just left. Then I pulled back sheets to check for bedbugs and didn't see any, but I did see stains on sheets, so I put new clothes on after shower and tried to sleep over comforter. My dog kept hearing sounds outside. It was seedy location with nearby homeless hanging out. I was getting chilly and turned off a/c fan and my dog and I heard something eating my dog's dry food. That's it-I laid down at around 9pm and was up at 3am and packed car and checked out and left. When I got home, I shook my stuff and washed in hot water and checked my dog for fleas, because I had all these bites on my legs and arms. Not sure if it was from room or the no-see-ums when I was in Florida. OMG never using Red Roof Inns again. I WILL pay pet fee from now on. It was so terribleQ!

Long trip home from Florida, checked in, by time we unloaded all luggage (5tubs of Rubbermaid totes, we were in a truck with no tonneau cover and traveling with a small dog) to second floor. Open the door and to our dismay, the room was filthy, dirty stained walls, stained and dirty sheets, lamp shade had been crumpled and stained no nuts on top of either lamp, tub was dirty with a pubic hair left behind, heating/AC was dirty busted to pieces and didn’t work, old TV didn't work, smelled like smoke. Room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years!! I went down to tell them about the TV, too bad. I went back to tell my husband and he said we were out of here. Went back, Manager had left and dealt with the other employee. She said we couldn’t have our money back we had been up there too long (we were up there maybe 10-15min)which wasn't long at all to unpack and tell them about the TV….I told her it was ridiculous that room was that filthy and she just shrugged her shoulders. She said she wouldn’t stay there either, that they should just bulldoze it down. When i asked her about who owned it she stated “Indian people that own the hotel TRU by Hilton next door as well!” So i turned in my keys and didn’t get a refund for my room!

Straight out of a horror scene!! ☠️

Seedy location, homeless people in back lot, people working on cars in parking lot, police tape cordoned off broken ceiling under deck area at the entrance - Did not feel safe!  Check in behind bulletproof glass.  Room was tired, and needed an update.  No refrigerator or microwave.  Looked nothing like the online photos.  HVAC unit had dirty, broken vents.  Faucet was as old as the hills.   Bathtub shower was grimey.  Was close to freeway, gas and food.

Very Seedy Hotel & Online Photos Misleading

Assigned a smoke free room 111, smelled like heavy smoke. Stayed in room 110, dirty baseboards, outlets that were not functional, smoke scent, falling bathroom ceiling, disgusting looking caulk in the bathroom, had to kill a bug in the room. I've stayed in hotels twice or so per year for 34 years. This was by far the worst nightmare experience I've ever had. My advice? Don't stay at this location. Pay more money to get quality services that make you feel comfortable, clean, and offer true smoke free rooms with no lingering smoke smells from other rooms. If I could I would give this a 0 out of 5, however 1 is the lowest I can rate it.

Smoke filled, dirty room

This hotel is worn. We had a non-smoking room, but the room smelled really bad of smoke. I could even smell the smoke in my close the day after. The room was otherwise okay clean. I will not come back and stay at this hotel again.

This hotel smells bad

I checked in my room I had my kids it was a long drive. The front desk girl was so polite and with a smile. I was exhausted but she stayed professional and even gave my kids a bottle of water. Soooo nice I will be back in a month thank you.
