We drove up to the property and our jaws hit the floor. It's an old motel from the 50s, one story, low building, right next to the busy highway.  I had trusted some of the positive reviews on booking.com, but I should have done my due diligence. Live and learn, I guess.  If you are willing to compromise comfort and cleanliness (their scores are quite low in that respect, I later found out) and pay over $200.00 for the convenience of being next to Crater Lake Park, that's your choice.  Although he wouldn't authorize a refund, Chris, the manager, was quite affable on the phone and argued that I didn't even get them a chance. He said that if we didn't like the room he might have upgraded us to a cottage out back... I a sorry Chris, in some cases you can judge a book from its cover, and I was just trying to avoid in person confrontation.  We had already hiked all day in the park, so we drove the extra miles to Bend and for the same price we stayed at a brand new hotel, in a quiet, top floor room,  and enjoyed the evening in a lovely town. Still we ended up over $200.00 short...  

Avoid, not worth the price!

A basic, clean room. You are paying for the location - in other places the room would be cheaper. But as one of the closest accommodations to Crater Lake, it is worth the price. 
Note: The children's play area seems to consist of a little field, an old, partially disassembled airplane that was roped off when we were there, and an old firetruck that, although they let children play in and on it, is actually used as a backup truck during fires and they therefore don't want kids moving knobs or levers. That seemed super strange to me. 

Motel Near Crater Lake

A traveler needs a good bed but you won't find one here. Also the Wifi doesn't work unless your room is close to the office. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Hair dryer didn't work, electric outlet didn't work. Bathrooms were updated with the bare minimum. Ours still had a 1960’s pink bathtub. It's just an old motel for the same price as a nicer one further down the road. I won't be back.

A $50 room for $110.

I would not willingly stay in this motel again for the price we paid. The room had shampoo, bar soap, body lotion, the towels were very soft; no issues in that regard. 

The downside; the room was antiquated, and very much needed the attention of a skilled maintenance person. The bathtub caulking appeared like a 6-year old put it on. The tv cabling was installed by an amateur at best. The room was in dire need of updating, to say the least. It appeared to be a setting out of circa 1950’s. The deadbolt did not work on the door lock, so I grabbed the 9mm from the pickup for added security during the night. Although the bedding was clean, there was what appeared to be a taco sauce stain on the bed comforter. 

One of the amenities was a continental breakfast. Don’t get your hopes up. A continental breakfast consisted of instant oatmeal packets, heat your own water in a microwave, no milk, no fresh fruit juice of any kind, they did have fresh bagel slices, and fresh coffee that had to be microwaved. They did have a soda dispenser although I didn’t care for a Mountain Dew with my instant oatmeal. That was the extent of the continental breakfast. An appropriate price for this room, even in today’s standards, would be in the $75 range. Your room front door is within 100 feet of the highway so you are serenaded by truck traffic during the night. This motel is still 37 miles from Crater Lake. The big dig was that even with a AAA discount, we still paid over $190 for one night stay. I would not let that happen again. My partner referred to it as the Bates motel. Thanks, but no thanks.

We stayed here 2 nights while visiting Crater Lake.  The room was extremely small and the Wifi was poor at best.  The floors were dirty and breakfast consisted of strong coffee, instant oatmeal and a few slices of bread and bagels.  For what we paid (almost $300 per night thanks to a second party booking) it was nothing like what we hoped or expected.  I will say the front desk guy (who was doing everything) was very nice.

Not what you hope!

This was a lovely hotel!  The room was immaculately clean.  Amy, the manager, was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It's always a pleasure to be able to park right outside your door. Very quiet.  Continental breakfast was simple but sufficient.

Very nice!

We could not find rooms and I tried this hotel. We were happy with how clean the room was, we stated in C. Yes it is an older hotel but the room was clean, the sheets were clean and for being in the middle of a forest we saw no bugs. The manager even waited 15 minutes past closing for us.

This was the worst experience ever. We were originally booked at Malita's in chilliquin but because they didn't allow dogs the manager changed us to eagle crater lake lodge.. At which point we were charged for both hotels plus we were charged a $200 fee for the dogs at the 1st hotel that the manager told us it was OK . Both these hotels are owned by the same individual and I would not recommend either one.

 The manager's name was Amy and the owner's name is Gonzalo, who I have been trying to contact. No one will give me a direct number for him, and the 2 numbers I do have, o e doesn't speak English and the other qont answer.

Angry

Our experience was not good. The room smelled horribly of air freshener, the lamp didn’t work, the remote was so dirty we held it in a towel (even after wiping down with Clorox wipe).  The tile and grout in the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years and the dead bolt to lock the door was broken. The ac worked well.

Definitely not worth $180.

Did not complete our stay due to bugs. Termites have infested the exterior so my family was skeptical of the interior. Upon entering the “suite” we noticed bugs on the floor and a foul odor in the room. We left in haste and realized later the room did not even have the couch or look anything close to what was advertised online. I was surprised that the clerk did not offer any kind of a refund due to the appalling condition of the room. Management appears to encourage unsafe conditions for guests.
