After reading reviews on trip advisor, I expected a clean, no frills hotel. Including taxes, the price was $140.  The ceiling had dark mold, the was hair in the shower, the sheets had burn holes from cigarettes, there was no coffee pot with the coffee maker, the smoke alarm was missing, and there was a strong odor of weed.  Do NOT stay here.

Worst Hotel Experience

This place is horrible, the room smelled of urine and smoke and when asked to change rooms, all rooms were apparently taken. Woke up the next day and didn't notice until after we checked out and started itching really bad and fast and when we checked we had bite marks throughout entire body. Went back to make management aware and all they could say was we can give you a 50 for the inconvenience. Please so do not stay here and suffer as we did.

This is one of the best hotels in the Chesapeake/Suffolk/Portsmouth in 2-star category!

Very clean rooms, hotel is family-owned and great folks!

Ample parking available even when the hotel was full. 
I have stayed here several times and would recommend other folks to try the same!

Best Hotel in the area

I stayed there over the Christmas holidays to spend time with my family. I checked out early to seek medical care for a rash I had developed while there. I came home to FL and went to my family doctor and found out I was infested with bed bugs and am on treatment and medication for them.

a little noisy guest  but it was a week end . great bed  clean rooms  good service and friendly associates  conveniently set nto interstate , close to working area  . close to places to eat  and drink . easy check in and out

The most insensitive staff!, acts as if they don’t understand English dirty and mildew/moldy smelly rooms I plan to never book another Super 8. This is the second location we have had a terrible experience 

Worst Stay Ever!!

Nice hotel, could use some updating and a better location. Very easy check in process, front desk clerk was training a new employee.Clients looked quite interesting. Had a stain in one of the beds and went to the front desk to let them know. They promptly sent someone to the room to change the sheet. Other than that, no other problems nor issues.

Prompt and courteous service from the beginning to the end we walked and we got a smile eye contact and prompt and courteous service which is so expected from a hotel of this magnitude and I'm so pleased to have had the person to take care care of me as professional as she did

I have stayed for extended periods at this hotel in the past and the people couldn’t have been nicer at that time. I don’t know if ownership changed, or what happened, but it’s now horrible. Thinking it was still a nice hotel for the money, I put my mother in the hotel for what was going to be 6 nights. The rooms have been updated and look nice and the room was clean. BUT, the walls have been painted a depressing green color in the corridors that gives you a claustrophobic feeling. Mom never could get the temperature adjusted in the room. The fridge did not cool properly, though we adjusted it. On her first night there, Mom went up to try to get a channel listing for the t.v., as there was none in her room, and the woman at the front desk sort of looked around and then rather rudely announced she didn’t have one. No offer of help was made.

There is often no one at the front desk when you go in. I did so to pick my mom up a few times, and rarely was anyone there. There is one luggage cart for the entire hotel, and no offer of help to get it through the front entrance, which is hard to manage. Staff are rude or uncaring. We removed her from the hotel after her second night, and I will never stay there again (I do stay at hotels sometimes when I have my son with me, even though I live in the area) or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Price should not always be a guide for where you stay. I have made this mistake again, but it is a Wyndham property so I thought it would be OK.Sheets don't fit the new mattress, breakfast area not clean, breakfast very minimal.Will stay elsewhere next trip to Suffolk.
