My wife attended a nearby workshop and I brought work with me to occupy my time. George and Bonnie were the perfect and most attentive hosts! It was a wonderfully warm and cozy place to quietly work and relax in my slippers! If we’re back up again in this area, this is where we’ll stay!

What a lovely experience to stay in the forest under the roof of a friendly couple! 
Very calm, excellent bed, everything very clean, decorated with love but the highlight of the stay was the breakfast with the specialties from the region.
We stayed two nights instead of one.

A night in the woods with a breakfast from paradise

I've had the pleasure of staying in The Cottage Room, and The Bear House Suite. Both stays were phenomenal. First time it was just the two of us (Cottage Room), and the second we brought the kids (Bear House Suite). Hosts were very accommodating for both stays. They cater to what time you'd like coffee and breakfast served (the food is incredible). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have more amenities than most hotels. They have very friendly dogs, and we were happy to see them again. Our second stay was more impressive than the first, and this place remains the best place we've ever stayed. We look forward to staying again.

We fell in love with this place

We spent 3 nights in late October at the Bear House with another couple.  It was a beautiful drive, the hosts were friendly and very accommodating, breakfasts great, all in all a wonderful visit to the area.  We thought it was particularly nice that there was outside seating so we could unwind after a day of touring together.  It was a real pretty drive on good roads and just in a lovely area of the state.  The hosts were very helpful with suggestions and information on places to go and things to do.  We would definitely stay there again.

Very enjoyable stay while in the York area

I was in the area for the weekend intending to spend one day at HersheyPark and the next in Harrisburg and we came across this little place in between, and I am so glad we did! We were greeted by a dog! George and Bonnie are fantastic hosts and their property is so much more than perfect! The room we stayed in was clean and had more amenities than most hotels (We're seasoned travelers and have seen many hotels)! The bed was comfortable, the chairs by the fireplace were a fantastic touch, there was a flatscreen tv in the room (which we didn't use), a clean bathroom (with wonderful water pressure in the shower), clean fluffy towels, a lovely, well lit, sink area and a hair dryer available for our use (a mini-professional one!), along with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. A multitude of snacks were provided (chips, chocolates, sodas, and even crackers and cheese!). 

They asked us what time we would be awake so that they would have PERCOLATED coffee ready for us (they checked if we were coffee drinkers first) and it was waiting for us on the deck attached to our room, along with danish, and dogs (we LOVE dogs)! They make sure we don't have any food allergies before we arrive so they can appropriately plan our breakfast. We walked into a lovely dining set up (think about the diningware your grandmother keeps in a curio cabinet and doesn't let anyone use) with more coffee, water, orange just and a cup of fresh fruit! George waited until we sat down to enjoy our fruit before he started cooking a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage links, toast, and a whole wheat belgian waffle made with applesauce (no oil)! Everything was perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious! Of course, I can't say that you'd have the same exact breakfast, but I can say that the amount of detail and care will be the same! 

The decor is bear themed and this gem definitely lives up to its name, though they do note that they've only heard of live bears in the area and haven't actually seen them. I'll take adorable stuffed bears, and faux bear prints out to the fish pond (also there's a fish pond with a bench swing) over a live bear, any day. 

George and Bonnie were an absolute delight to talk to and even offered to take our photo! 

Bear House Bed&Breakfast is, hands down, the BEST place we ever had the pleasure of staying at. We liked it so much that we have decided that we'd like to stay here everytime we visit the area!
