This is a busy hotel that has seen minimal upkeep. The desk staff is none too sharp or efficient. The room was not cleaned well, especially the bathroom. I will stay elsewhere in the future and spend a little more money for a better experience.

Overnight stay glad it wasn't longer

Great staff. Older hotel with clean/comfortable rooms. Free Wifi. Free Breakfast with lg. variety. Convenient location. Cons: limited parking, traffic, no pool. Area hotels  =  2x - 3x  $ or distance.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites  on W. Mitchell in Cincinnati, OH 7/27/23 and 7/28/23. I called ahead of making the reservation and talked to the manager regarding my specific needs for a wheelchair accessible riom. The manager was great at providing me the measurements requested. However, the reservation was unblocked by another senior management person who failed to read the notes of his manager and reserved the room for another patron. The owner and manager both said if I could forego a shower for a day, they would move me to the roll in shower room the next day. All parties agreed. They moved me the next day. The roll in shower, wheelchair accessible room had so much furniture in it that a wheelchair could only be used on a portion of one side of the bed, the grab bar in the bathroom doesn't allow for someone to hold onto the bar and sit on the toilet at the same time. The shower chair provided was missing one of the rubber tips and its legs spawled outward from the chair if any weight was placed on the seat of the shower chair. The owner was told that this was a potential liability for the hotel. I recommended that the shower chair be discarded and the hotel should buy a new shower chair.

Wheelchair Accessible Minimal

We stayed at this hotel since it was close to the zoo and sported a mid-range price per night for comparable hotels in the area. When entering the hotel, you can tell this place needs a remodel and/or replaced carpets in the lobby. The lobby had a musty smell. The only positive aspect to our room was the layout. We stayed in a standard double queen room and at first glance, it looked quite nice. After setting our bags down we began to notice a lot of problems. There was a hole in the bathroom door, the toilet was discolored, you can see poor patch work on the drywall and the tub, the air conditioner in the room did not cool the room down (it was very old and noisy) and the refrigerator did not keep our food cold and ended up spoiling (despite putting it on the coldest setting). Also, breakfast in the morning was not edible. Absolutely horrible tasting and the orange juice was watered down (who waters down orange juice?). The only thing that was good was pre-packaged yogurt and cereal. I personally would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Uncomfortable Inn

We took 2 nights at this location so we could enjoy some Cincinnati attractions. Generally it was pleasant.

Unlike some locations, they seem to have been able to retain sufficient staff. The rooms are made up daily, the front desk has more than one person attending. Staff was friendly.

Our suite was comfy. I wish hotels would p0ut in a second desk and office chair since my wife and I both want to use out laptops. Interestingly, the room came with a small wet bar but no coffee maker.

My big disappointment--and this has been frequent as I've travelled this year--was the free breakfast. Some of the Choice htoels have resumed offering a full hot breakfast. This one is still offering only frozen breakfast sandwiches and individually packaged yogurt, rolls, and muffins. Can we be real here--if I make my own pancake, there is no way in hell that the covid or any other microbe is going to survive 2 minutes in a hot waffle iron, and I won't gert contamination from the syrup dispenser or individual butter packets unless someone has been licking them. This is why I want everyone to have to study science in high school.

Up to the chain's standards, and sometimes higher.

When we booked a room, the website did not say the hotel was under reconstruction.  The entryway to the hotel and the elevator were messy with plastic dust, etc.  Also, although our room was fairly nice, the carpet and tile floor were dirty, and there were red spots on the bed sheets (maybe nail polish?).  There was supposed to be a breakfast, but we were only given a Honey Bun, some fruit, and coffee/juice.  We have been in other hotels during COVID, and have been given more of a variety of breakfast items.  Also, there were no restaurants around the hotel to eat at except a White Castle, which didn't look too safe.  The hotel was close to the Cincinnati Zoo, which was nice, and also it was easy to get on the highway when we left for further travel.  Also, the person behind the desk was very pleasant.

I’ve stayed in many hotels of similar quality. The rooms are reasonable, the breakfast fine, and the coffee better than average. What makes this place special is the staff. They are uniformly friendly, outgoing, and competent, and they all like one another. I would stay there again just for the people. 

Reasonable quality, superb staff

Friendly Staff & nice clean rooms. Complementary breakfast is great. I asked for a later check out time and it was no problem.  The bar on 12 is nice and comfortable with a nice menu as well.  Nice entry level well kept and clean. I will definitely stay again.

Great

When we arrived at this hotel, there was a very unpleasant odour in the lobby that continued the next day.  It was less present on the second floor.  My room reservation had been made by my host at the event where I was speaking, and was in her name as she was paying by credit card. The desk clerk was not willing to ensure that my name was recorded on the room registry in case someone tried to reach me.  I left a wake-up call for 6:30.  The call came shortly after 5:30, and when I tried to call the desk to ask that they call again at 6:30 (in hope that I could fall back to sleep), no one answered.  I was glad to be there only one night.

An unpleasant odour and staff that were less than stellar

Picked hotel based on location to the arena, but taxi ride through the neighborhood and then up to the front made me very uncomfortable because the area is rough. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the decor, and the demeanor of the staff.  Someone was being trained to check us in, and I appreciated how the manager (owner?) was patient with her while also making sure we didn't wait too long.  Room had good wifi connection, cable TV with actual movies, fridge, and microwave.  Front desk staff (owner?) came up to personally check if we were satisfied with our room.  That was a first!  Maid service was punctual and thorough, so leave her a nice tip.  The hotel breakfast was better than expected--choice of meat, biscuits & gravy, eggs, waffles, etc.  Very quiet in spite of being next to the freeway.
