We loved it here! We took the top floor room to watch the hurricane arrive. The storm was a bust but we enjoyed our stay! Just over the causeway is  Clark Island Preserve, a gem!
Both Breakfast & dinner were delicious! The blueberry pancakes are a must!

Great getaway!

We loved our stay at The Craignair Inn by the Sea. This is a beautiful, well maintained, updated, historic inn with so much charm. The owners were very kind, helpful, and made a delicious breakfast. The views from the Craignair were stunning, and we were able to go sea kayaking right off the property. We wish we would have booked another night!

Best place we stayed on coastal Maine trip!

We stayed in the vestry. Owners were rightfully proud of what they have created, the setting was beautiful. 
   
Parking was plentiful. 

The inn room was well appointed, clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and quiet. 

Breakfast was vegetarian but tasty. Coffee and tea was plentiful. 

Staff were welcoming.

This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely beautiful scenery and the inn has beautiful details. Our room had a deck that looked over the ocean and it was so relaxing. Our bed was so comfortable! We stayed for 3 nights. So much to do around the area. I loved that this place was so quiet and relaxing, beautiful hike right out the door on Clark island. The food at the inn and restaurant was delicious and the owners and staff  are so kind and welcoming.  Overall an amazing experience and we will definitely be back!

relaxing couples getaway

We booked the Craignair Inn spur of the moment for our last night traveling around the Maine Coast.  Originally we where to spend the last night in Bangor.  We could not have been happier with the Inn.  Our room was on the 3rd floor.  Water views from every window!  The room was a decent size, old style charm, modern bathroom and very clean.  The inn itself is very quaint but the location is a huge draw!  Right on the heel of Clark Island, a true find.  When the the tide is out you can wander way out in the water or sit on the little  white sand beach.  Take a short hike on the island and you find yourself at the most gorgeous swimming quarry.  Back to the inn- dine on the back porch and treat yourself to a fantastic delicious meal.  What a way to spend our last night before heading home.  Oh and breakfast is included and a real made to order breakfast.  The Craigair inn checks all the boxes.  We will be back.

Unexpected Perfection

This delightful inn, right on the coast of Maine, is a rare find and an absolute delight!
Resident inn keepers Lauren and Greg could not be more welcoming and hospitable in providing an amazing environment for relaxing, dining, sight seeing and fun.  Each of the rooms have their own unique charm. The outdoor deck is a beautiful place to have a meal, a snack or a drink while enjoying the expansive Atlantic ocean views. AND while I referenced "meals"....OMG the dining experience is exceptional!!!  Their farm to table ingredients are expertly prepared by their amazing chef with a diverse and mouthwatering menu.  Add to that their deliciously prepared vegan options and the cozy ambiance of their dining room with water views....well dining is a real treat!!!!
You can tell that you have caring and conscientious resident inn keepers because this place is run just like a home...with warmth, smiles and an exceptional personal touch!

TOP FLIGHT, hospitality, dining, coziness and charm

What a sweet find! Tucked away in a sea coast hamlet we found The Craignair to be clean, quiet and lovely. The causeway at the end of the driveway leads to Clark's Island and several little beach areas. 
The restaurant is reservation only but absolutely the best food ever! We had pork prime rib perfectly prepared. Both the Inn and Restaurant are run smoothly and efficiently. The breakfast was substantial and as we picked out our breakfast choices as well as our time, there is very little waiting. Next time at least two nights...

A peaceful retreat

Very nice establishment, Everyone is kind. Rooms and bathroom were clean, a must. Quiet location which is needed for the mind and soul. They have a resurant on site, and the food is GREAT! If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely come back. 

Overnight visit 

What a charming coastal inn with delightful water views!  My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay last week and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the innkeepers and the nature walks on Clark Island across the causeway.  We enjoyed our delicious breakfast each morning and two great dinners in the popular Causeway Restaurant.  The Craignair Inn is centrally located along the lower Maine coast and within a reasonable drive of many popular coastal destinations (ie Acadia National Park).  We would definitely recommend to others looking for a quiet and restful getaway!

Peaceful Relaxing Stay

My husband and I just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Craignair Inn. The amenities were perfect, and the owners, Lauren and Greg, we’re so welcoming!

The location couldn’t have been more quintessential Maine if it tried! We enjoyed walking around the quarry and relaxed on Adirondack chairs facing the water before dinner. Oh, and the dinner was fantastic **chef’s kiss** You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu!

We can’t wait to visit again (and soon!)
