Granted there is not much in Claxton to choose from and this appeared to be the best available.  It's an old hotel, run down at the heels and desperately in need of renovation.  On the plus side it was reasonably clean.  But even with the door to our room dead bolted, there was a considerable gap between the door and the frame.  The pillows were the smallest I have ever seen and there were only three of them on a king-sized bed.  Towels were also scarce and skimpy.  If you are in the area and looking for a place to stay, my advice is to drive the extra 15 or so miles to Statesboro where there are several decent and reasonably priced hotels.

It was the first time I had gone to another state and I was happy and sad at the same time because we had to go to a funeral. GA was the state I was happy to go to.
We get there and it smell like smoke and it was suppose to be non smoking room...so that was a red flag
The sheets had many stains on them. We ask housekeeper to make the beds and to bring towels. She did but she never change the sheets and we had towels but they were dirty. I was then gross out. I see a Roach on the side of the bed. Bed bugs bite me on the arm. Our door wasn't working we told them about the door and the guy fix it. But the next day the door wasn't working. So again they had to fix it.
 I notice that the front desk guy/manager was nice. 
In closing, my last day was disappointing because the housekeeper never knock on the door and walk right on me, thank God we were not doing anything lol...And said she was sorry. I think she thought we left bc she didn't see our car parked. I called the front desk immediately and again they were sorry for her action and behavior.. I asked if she has every done that before and they said no...so I said ohhhh..any who... I got my money worth BC it was cheap...I guess I get what I paid for.
