Hotel Cabana Clearwater Beach

The hotel is not like a normal hotel where you have a front desk all online. Parking is a problem unless you get a pass from the hotel to park at the front of the hotel which you normally pay to park, if you find a place. All rooms are accessed via  a pin number which is emailed to you or texted to you. The rooms are short of seating area also plugs or charging points for phones. The bathroom was the smallest I have been in that includes a cruise ship, the sink is for a toilet not a bathroom so small. The air-conditioning was noisy lucky they fitted a celling fan which meant you could turn it off at night and just use the fan. The area the hotel is a long way from the centre walking through not the best looking area. The pool area is not the best very small. It looks as if the area is slowly being demolished to upgrade the area.

Pros:
- Unit was quite clean.
- Location was a block from the beach and about one mile from Pier 60.
- Quiet.

Cons:
- Grounds could have been nicer/cleaner.  Pool was always kind of dirty.
- Coffee they advertise was cold or often out.  
- No hot water in kitchen.
- No Roku or streaming services.
- Beach chairs are rarely available.

For price, would stay somewhere else. Agree with other reviews that they spent the money on the marketing.

Just ok, not worth the $!

The Cabana title is definitely the vibe!
We stayed at the one on Mandalay with the lush tropical courtyard, pool and cabana-like seating area.
Beautiful, peaceful, and just a block from the peaceful, much less populous portion of north Clearwater.
If you don’t like crowded beaches, overpriced lodging, and you still want to feel pampered…. This is the perfect spot. 
It was walking distance from a few nice beachfront restaurants (Palm Pavilion recommended!) and moments drive from shopping area and pier.
The admin staff were very accommodating and friendly. The housekeepers beat any we have ever encountered!!! They helped us a bunch. 
It is smoke free, and of course smokers ignored that and  dampened our stay…. However the motel got right on it, and smokers beware…. You will be caught and fined. Yay. 
Pool was not too cold, cleaned often. Laundry services, ice and community microwave. 
We picked a small room, but it was fine and had a pool view.

This is an oasis, loved it!

This is a great location on Clearwater Beach. It is quiet with little traffic but still a few blocks from all the shops and restaurants. It is also a short walk to the beach, one of the nicest in Florida. The hotel is older but remodeled and very clean.  Beds were very comfortable.  The hosts, Candace and Aaron, were extremely responsive and took care of any concerns we had during our stay. Parking is very convenient right next to the rooms but is limited and you must get a parking pass to park in front of the hotel on Mandalay Ave. (Clearwater will ticket cars parked on Mandalay without a pass). It is important to read all the information sent to you by text the day of arrival but the hosts were very responsive to any questions. We had a really nice time here.

Really Nice Stay

BED BUGS!, BED BUGS!, BED BUGS!
We have family in Clearwater and have stayed here before and wanted to make a tradition, but this time we encountered BED BUGS which left welts on my wife’s body and face. Found many in the bed and on the floor - so complete deal breaker and will likely need to burn our luggage and contents when we get home. Thought they were ticks but googled as my wife was FURIOS. Yup - BED BUGS! LOTS OF THEM.

As others have stated there is no free street parking even though parking is right in front of the main office. I received a $20 ticket but concierge worked with me on the ticket and allowed us to change rooms and comped a night - but damn… BED BUGS! Come on Hotel Cabana. This is a health issue now!

Rooms were small but lovely and clean we were in a double and adjoining room for children bunk beds were very rickety and kids didn’t feel safe sleeping on top bunk

Little Gem 💎

We selected a 2nd floor room, and were on the corner with a limited water view. Nice that there was a mini kitchen with fridge. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee every day. The outdoor sitting area and pool was also lovely. It was on the quiet end of Clearwater Beach. I’m recommend checking it out.

Nice location & pool area

Not sure how this place has such great reviews everywhere and gets away with charging the prices it does. It looks very little like the pictures, they certainly tried to renovate it but mostly it’s lipstick on a pig. There are few to no amenities, no blow dryer, no ironing board, no trash can and the AC is nearly non existent which made for a very hot and sticky stay in July. The bathroom has no ventilation so has a very bad mildew smell. There is also absolutely no sink space in the bathroom as well. There was never any beach rental equipment. There are NO onsite staff. Everything is communicated over text message so it felt more like a bad air bnb then a hotel.  Yes you can walk to the beach but it’s still a decent walk to Frenchys or any where else you want to be. And to top our stay off we found cockroaches in the bathroom and kitchen, thankfully that was our last morning and we high tailed it out. Move on from this one.

Nope

Building like motels of the 70s with a pool in the courtyard, we had the Suite 16, which was very nicely repaired in itself. On the second look, however, the defects that were carrying us came to light, and after one of three nights, we moved out. The air conditioning in the sleeping area is so loud (perhaps faulty?) that you couldn't turn it on when you wanted to sleep. But the extra-fitted ceiling fan could have helped, which wouldn't have developed a life of its own at night and even turned on the light and increased the fan speed to maximum.

From the outside, it's a nice hotel with spots.

The pictures they show don't show how run down building is and show only bathroom shots from the suites. Are toilet was literally right up against shower end  how to put feet up on shower to use or go sideways.  The bathroom sinks are bigger in prison
The room was big enough nice dresser and drawers in bed.  By end of trip was invaded with brown catapillars/millapeededs some on bed alive when woke up dead in bathroom but all over our toothbrushes and the floor towel for shower was covered.  The cleaning service was great nicest ladies. The pool area good location for us great beach more quiet. Check out is 10am where usually is 11.  Wld prob stay again more prepared that your dresser will hold all your grooming products keep toothbrush in a container and hang up shower floor towel always  maybe look into the suites seem to hv bigger bathrooms.
