If that is not the experience you're looking for, I can understand why you'd be disappointed. Pine Rose Inn isn't meant to be run like a stuck up 5 star hotel, and the owners don't try to make this place seem like it is one online; so I really don't get where all the confusion and negative reviews on the establishment are coming from. Do yall even know what a B&B is?? It IS SUPPOSED TO have a rustic charm and a very quiet, very personal feel to it. If you were expecting daily room service and an annoyingly heavy staffing to pound at your door or ring up your room phone constantly, than you should've booked at the Holiday Inn. This B&B is more suited for adults w/ children, not adults who need to be treated like children. If you can't take care of yourself, can't read, can't cook, need to be tucked in at night, and require 24/7 babysitting.. well then first of all i am embarrassed for you, and secondly, I'm sure you'd be happier at the aforementioned motel. I personally do not enjoy random strangers loudly knocking at my door at 9 AM because it's time to get the hell out ("check out"). I don't call that relaxing; I consider it annoying!! So Thank the good Lord (and the property manager) for a place like this: where I can wake up whenever the hell I want, eat when I want, go where I want, play where I want, shoot/ride/hike when I want, and just revel in this extremely rare opportunity to spend time absolutely uninterrupted with the person I want. This land is frozen in such a surreal, almost magical quietness like I've never experienced before. If you can't appreciate the beauty in a place like this, then you'd probably be happier at a crowded Motel 6 in the middle of a loud city somewhere. Good luck with that!! I on the other hand am going to be coming here for a very very long time to come. The property is perfect, and the small amount of staff that does exist here makes you feel like you are family, and you're important... can't ask for more than that.

Like staying w. family on a perfect piece of nowhere i personally own..

the pictures posted on their website and hotels.com are grossly misrepresented. Room was smelly, bed spread had burn holes,curtains were stained, wires hanging off stove, wall a/c unit was filthy,the carpeting was old, shower/ tub is in bedroom with only a curtain separating it from bedroom,courtyard was cluttered and messy, pesticides and chemical containers everywhere. We were there for only 30 minutes and had to check out. Management refused to negotiate their cancelation policy and fees.

Rundown,smelly,dirty place

We had the worst hotel experience of our life....we visited Yosemite with my parents and booked a suite here. Pictures on the website are very deceiving . When we reached there it was around 9.pm and there was nobody to welcome . After looking all around the property ,we found  a crazy behaving guy , who was the property manager. He said they have the suite to someone else and now they only have one bedroom. Where are we supposed to go in the night with my parents and a 6 year old ??? It drive us crazy. We accepted whatever was available and decided to stay that night , since there was no other option at all. They took 2 hours to clean whatever crappy room they had. The room was HORRIBLE! DIRTY. We somehow slept that night . In the morning when I tried to make tea, the condition of the  pots made me puke ....when I told this to the manager he got me another less crazy pan ..this hotel ruined our Yosemite trip.

Worst hotel ever!

It's very difficult to write this review, as the owner and the manager were extremely nice people, however, everything about my stay at the Pine Rose Inn was a negative experience.  I waffled between 1 star and two stars - And after reading some of the other reviews (I wish I had seen prior to booking) I went with the high 2 star rating to give the benefit of the doubt.  

Upon check in, my first impression of the outside of the property was a little surprised that everything seemed to be so messy.  The first building you see on entry has glass doors and filled with all kinds of junk.  Kind of a weird first view.  Poorly signed upon entry, I first went to one of the cottages looking for the main office, but a hand written sign on that cottage door directed me to the main house a hundred or so feet away.  

I was there greeted by both the Owner and and Property Manager, extremely friendly, and welcoming.  I was happy that I had made the decision to stay here.  I was given directions to my room and for parking, and met at my room by the Manager.  First appearance of the inside of the room was similar to the outside, strangely decorated, and mismatched decor - but I really couldn't care less about that.  My first comment to him was that it was cold inside, and he plugged in a portable heater and turned it on.  I also thought that was a bit unusual, but hey, I'm in the woods and roughing it.  

I had just returned from a long day hiking in Yosemite, and was in dire need of a highly anticipated shower.  After undressing and jumping in the tub, I found there was no hot water.  Re-dressed, and returned to the office to notify the management, and they were extremely apologetic and politely upgraded my room to a nearby Deluxe Suite.  I re-packed my luggage and belongings, and transferred everything to the new room.  

The Deluxe Suite was somewhat bigger than my last room, the kitchen was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need, clean and well presented.  The bed, again was miss-matched with very old dried out sheets that have been through the wash far too many times.  Terribly uncomfortable to lay on.  Extension cords draped around the room are dangerous and also illegal - once used to power the TV directly over the entry door with the cable hanging down over the door.  Holes in the walls, make you feel like critters may be crawling around while you sleep.    

Once again, it was time for a shower.  As soon as I turned on the shower, only a bit of the water came out the shower head, and rest ran down the shower wall.  It appeared much of the water may be going inside the wall - huge damage if this isn't repaired soon.  

After a late night out for dinner, and a restless night attempting to sleep on the uncomfortable sheets, I was awaken at 5:30 AM by what sounded like the moving of furniture either in the room above or next to me.  It was loud, and scraping and went on for nearly 20 minutes making it impossible to get back to sleep. 

I had prepaid for my room on Expedia for two nights, however, after one night I returned my key to the owner and left. She politely apologized to me for all the problems, but I wasn't offered a refund for the second night I had paid for.  I should have, but neglected to request one.  I just wanted to leave, and headed to the nearby Comfort Inn for my second night's stay, which was less money, and zero issues.  

I'm sure with some T.L.C. and an investment in repairs and upgrades, this place would be extremely nice.  It's setting is beautiful.

Disappointing Stay

This was an all around terrible experience. It is dirty and run down. I dont think the doors lock. They told us we should not drink the water (thank God they told us at least) and it also had a foul odor. The electrical breaker did not work right and the electricity kept coming on and off. The wifi does not work well either and kept going off. There was mice poop in the cabinets and dirty glasses above the stove. Anita, the woman and owner is very nice and tried very hard to make our stay pleasurable but I just dont think she knows how to run a hotel. She runs the place with her two sons Greg and Ryan and everything is a mess in the main area where they greet you. Greg seemed nice initially, a little strange, but nice enough. However when we told them we wanted a refund because of so many problems he became belligerent and by the end we were fearful for our well-being. Fortunately Anita refunded our money but he was so angry that we left that he started screaming at the top of his lungs and we literally high tailed it out of there as quickly as possible. My husband and I were scared. It was freaky. We do not recommend staying there!

Horrible experience.

This place is horrible, very dirty and run by very strange people.do not stay at the pine rose inn. Even if you have to sleep in your car.it looks like a junkyard run by low lifes.please do not stay here, you have been warned !

Me and my friend were traveling from Boston to Sacramento and book a two night stay at the rose pine, cause we were doing a road trip starting from Yosemite. I contacted the inn and told them them we are gonna be coming late and asked them if thats gonna be a problem or we would find another place. It was ok. We landed in Sacramento at 10 rented a car and drove around 3 hours down to Oakhurst. I had no phone reception most of the time. We arrived around 1 ish to find nobody waiting for us. There is no reception just a bell you should ring, which we did for 20 mins. Nobody showed up. I couldn’t call anyone, cause of the no service thing, so we just walked around the premises looking for a sign or smth. An hour later we gave up and drove another half an hour to spend 200$ in the nearest 24 hour reception hotel. Around 3 in the morning i received a voice mail from earlier from the manager saying if i don’t give him a call asap he is gonna give our room to someone else! Our booked and already paid room! We were furious! In the morning we went to ask for our money back and talked to the manager. He said something about how he left a key in a big whine envelope for us in front of the main door, which first we surprisingly didn’t see, and second he was suppose to give our room to another couple if I don’t contact him, didn’t he? At the end he apologized, refunded us the money for the first night, gave us a discount and  upgraded our room, gave us a key and we left after loosing half day of hiking cause of that. Came back at night to walk in to another guests room! Luckily the manager was still awake and apologized that he forgot that those guests are staying another night. We finally found OUR room and were chilling outside when he came with three bottles of wine to apologize for all the inconvenience. Room was spooky but kinda clean, I didn’t have much time to look around. Place looks cute and have bon fire and a hot tub, but that was not useable, cause it was not clean. If put more effort the place could be a bomb for travelers who like to meet new people and have fun around the fire. Not the best experience, but at least he tried to catch up with it. 

Kinda disappointed 

My husband and I decided to spend Memorial weekend in Yosemite for a nice hike, due to the holiday, we found this place on line, which looked nice and cozy. On arrival no one was at the office, we found a lady that had a good attitude with poor hygiene appearance. She showed us around the place making time for the person from the office to arrive. Ryan showed up and greeted us letting us know that we were early to check inn 3pm.(we arrived at 2pm) and they're not longer serving breakfast. We told Ryan that we will go to the town and come back. When we did, our room's door was not locked, and I don't think it locks.The place had a foul odor, we checked the sheets, and had some stains and an old weathered duvet.The worse of it all was the "RAT POOP" on the kitchen counter next to the microwave. We  Ryan we were not happy with the room and  called hotel.com and asked for our money back. Luckily we found a new place which was clean and much better place with breakfast and less expensive. 
Please, dont ever stay at The Pine Rose, it's not what it looks like or appears to be on the web site. Do yourself a favor. Dont make the mistake we did.

The Pine Rose Inn is a lovely world.  The owners are wonderful people who really care about their guests and have the old-fashioned gift of hospitality.  The Inn is full of old world charm.  The breakfast is absolutely delicious.  A happy experience.
